Class 2-D

A. Ami

Aiko Ami | HN: "The Motivational Hero" Rosethorn

Motivation: The ability to infuse words with an esoteric energy and push a listener beyond their limits! The speaker decides who gets the boost to strength, endurance, and mobility, for up to two listeners. But the boost comes with faster loss of stamina, and Rosethorn knows how to invert the effects as well.

A smiling woman with curvy proportions, an extremely long auburn ponytail, and neon red eyes. She is wearing a professional brown pantsuit and brown high-heeled pumps.
Motivation is an Emitter type.

Background

Aiko is a teacher most of the time nowadays, only responding to the biggest of threats or when her lifelong nemesis manages a return. She's a supportive teacher who always strives to bring out the best in her students, and her quirk is extremely useful for preventing last minute injuries during practice. The public has quite a positive view of her, since she has saved even quirkless people from sure death with timely interventions of inspiration. And she's a tough opponent for most to fight because even as she enhances her own body she can turn your own against itself.

Rosethorn as a hero is definitely a hero's hero. They encourage people to never give up and bring hope to all with their voice. Her outfit choice certainly enhances one part of peoples bodies when they see it even despite her normal quantity limits, but she herself is not overtly sexual...Though at times she can seem domineering when weakening villains for capture by other heroes its a simple side effect of her quirk.

Her agency accepts a wide array of applicants seemingly at random, based upon supporting those who have fallen through the cracks, or feel like their quirk is useless. It tries to bring out the best in its trainees and help them in any way it can.

O. Atsushi

Orochi Atsushi | HN: "Hard-To-Destroy Lizard Hero" Yamata

Headstrong Hydra: A mythical regeneration factor as well as the ability to produce venom found in all of her body fluids. Three hydra heads, also with venomous bites, grow from the base of her spine, and all four heads share senses to the same nervous system.

A smug young woman with jagged purple horns, flowing bright red hair, and neon-pink eyes. Three red serpentine heads with spiny scales emerge from the base of her spine. She is dressed in a cropped white tank top, a blue windbreaker worn off her shoulders, black track suit pants, and black hi-top sneakers.
Headstrong Hydra is a Heteromorphic type.

Background

Orochi is a tomboy princess with a history of delinquency. She isn't used to being denied or ignored, and has a braggart tendency. However, she also cares about the opinions and well-being of others.

Lately, she fell victim to the "Apex Predator Villain": Feral, and was eviscerated. This kicked her quirk into overdrive to save her life, and her personality and power set changed drastically, making all of it more effective but also more costly. Her human side is no longer completely dominant and the more reptilian parts of her - especially her three tails - interfere with her moods and desires. Now a more aggressive and bitter person, she struggles against a growing feeling of rage that is isolating her from her peers.

Hydra Ablaze is the awakened version of Headstrong Hydra! It enhances all functionalities of the original quirk, as well as speeding up the metabolism and regeneration of the body to such a degree that the body overheats and is set ablaze, producing extremely hot and noxious fumes.

Orochi’s scales can also harden and become flexible, with Orochi being capable of changing their shape and growth speed to suit her needs! Those scales can be released and explode on demand once they are hot enough.

C. Cain

Christopher Cain | HN: "The Adaptive Hero" Mirror Devil

Mirror Maker: The ability to copy up to two quirks and use them synergistically. This does not work on Heteromorphic quirks.

A wide teen boy with practical, sturdy, brown clothing and pale boots. He has messy brown hair and a serious expression.
Mirror Maker is an unusual Combination type.

Background

Appearance:

Half-Japanese, on his mother's side. He’s a tall young man with brown-black hair, which he keeps straight, and brown eyes. He prefers to wear modest clothes and loafers.

Gear:

In costume he wears a pair of red-tinted goggles to protect his eyes, a brown top hat, a beige overcoat with a collar that goes over his mouth. At his waist he carries an ostentatious dragon hilted sword, a gift from Inigo.
The goggles he wears got a thread upgrade a few months ago. They can now stream video from a paired camera and record what the user sees.

Personality

Christopher is much changed over the course of the last year. He’s still introverted, but much more friendly now. Despite his introversion, he seems to have attracted quite a tight knit group of friends as well as a girlfriend. He’s not entirely ‘out of his shell,’ but he’s making progress.

Quirk Mimicry

Quirk Definement: Shattered Mirrors: Whenever Chris ‘drops’ a quirk, he forgets the quirk’s original wielder. He’ll still remembers the events that took place around the person he’s forgotten, but the person is like a void. (Reference The Moon Saw for what that looks like.)
Note: The quirk drawback is an extremely well-guarded secret. His own family doesn't know about it and it does not appear in his medical records or registration. The number of people who do know of it are less than can be counted on one hand.

H. Chang

Soomin "Hailey Chang" Jang | HN: "The Lady Esper" Recoil

Telekinesis: The ability to project invisible vectors of force at considerable distance. The vectors can become any shape and her limits are at the level of a prodigy: 40 cubic meters of volume, 100 meters of range, and 1000 kilograms of mass. Even more rarely, she retains fine control of angle, size, and force, and can comfortably operate at small scales on delicate objects - as long as they can withstand being bent and handled.

A thin young woman with glossy black hair, a warm smiling expression, but sadistic gray eyes. She is blushing and holding a smartphone with Hifumi on the screen. She is dressed in white dance sneakers, black and orange tights, and a man's hoodie with "Excellence #1" across the chest.
Telekinesis is an Emitter type.

Background

Hailey is the undisputed queen bee of the influencer group Jeans. She is confident, ambitious, competitive, and subtly protective of her girls. She is also quick with an insult and unapologetic of her narcissism. Beneath her spiky exterior and suspicion of others is a doting nature that borders on possessive. A thin young woman with a curious expression. She is wearing black tights, a white knee-length sun dress with pleated skirt, a long tan cardigan with puffy sleeves, and a black choker. Her black hair is done up in twin buns and she has light brown eyes.
Drone is an Emitter type.

Background

Although Faith's family is wealthy in absolute terms, they are the poorest family among her friends in Jeans. They also passed on their interest in high tech to their daughter. Faith is brilliant with computers, robotics, and automation, and is often encouraged by her friends to tone it down in front of their shared audience. A thin young woman with flirtatious body language and thick black hair going to the middle of her chest. She has grey eyes with yellow electric sparks in them, like thunder clouds. She is wearing a gray microskirt, white mary-jane shoes, a brown canvas cap, and an oversized, light, white sweater. She is holding a small yellow purse.

H. Kyoda

Hiro Kyoda | HN: "The Comeback Hero" Overdose

Drugs: Hiro can produce all manner of drugs, both in the form of liquids or gas. He can customize their effects, from mundane ones to the stuff of mad science.

A heavily scarred young man with a tired, haunted expression. He has orange hair and blue eyes, and is wearing a faded light blue hoodie with ill-fitting brown pants and white skate shoes. He has a wooden crutch and his arms and fingers are wrapped in medical bandages.
Drugs is an Emitter type.

Background

Kyoda Hiro doesn't look easy to approach. His looks are those of a delinquent, but underneath lies a disciplined fledgling that studies on his own on top of already being incredibly intelligent. He may seem crude and rude at first, but Hiro is a softie inside. He'd like to make some friends, but his style and being held back makes it hard.

Lately, he faced technical death at the hands of Sandatsu, then was resuscitated at a hospital. The attack left him crippled—missing most of the fingers on one hand, with severe damage to his organs, and needing crutches to move. But none of that stopped him. Hiro performed surgery on himself and implanted a synthetic replica of his own quirk. It’s not perfect, but it works, and it’s proof of how far he’s willing to go to bounce back. Now, Hiro seems more determined than ever. He’s still struggling physically, but mentally, he’s sharper and more focused than before.

Understandably, there may be no person in the world more eager for Sandatsu Owari's downfall. "The Symbol of Death": Reaper has made an enemy without remorse and with no lack of focus.

Danger Zone is an Emitter type.

Background

Edie comes from a wealthy Korean family. She is an influencer and member of a social media content group called Jeans. Refinement x6

Transports people into a "Danger Dimension" of considerable size under her control and which she has a mental link to - this is what her 6 quirk refinements went towards

Range Limit: 10m slightly extended by support gadgets

She does not have a sixth sense for dangerous individuals in her range but she can trigger it on other creatures and objects arbitrarily as in banish everyone around her just to be safe

-She needs to concentrate on something or someone to add it to her inventory, even if she doesn't need to know it that well nor see it, she needs to know at least the broad strokes of what and where it is, like "this chair behind me" or "this person in front of me". (hence, sneak attacks still work)

-The more precisely she concentrates on this thing, the faster the capture happens. "This person I've never seen but know is behind that wall" would take a couple seconds, but "my classmate XXX who I've spoken to multiple times and can see him in front of me" happens in a blink of an eye (some limitations on the speed of the capture)

-She can capture multiple targets at the same time, but it requires more concentration and takes longer than if she did it one after another (gives other a chance to react)

-It requires much less focus than the capture itself, but she needs to pay some attention to her inventory to keep the captured objects inside, and even more for people, if she loses it, things will start to slip out (using "the mental link" to establish that there is a way for others to free those captured if they can push her far enough in a fight to lose her concentration, and will also make capturing a lot of people a the same time more difficult as she will be preoccupied).

S. McCathy

Sally McCathy | HN: "The Gun Nun" Last Rite

Internal Armory: Sally's arms and legs can form metallic gun barrels which fire self-produced ammunition. Also gives Sally the ability to somewhat influence the trajectory of any bullets within 100 meters (or one football field for the patriots).

A smiling teen girl with brass-colored eyes and light brown hair. She's wearing oversized leather hiking boots, black tights, a white sweater dress, a soft leather work-jacket, and a charcoal beanie.
Internal Armory is a Heteromorphic type.

Background

Sally McCathy was born and raised in Montana in the United States, with her father being a Lutheran priest turned police officer, and her mother making her living being an ammunition maker.

From a very young age, she could make trick shots with just about anything you could throw: this proved very useful and slightly disconcerting when her quirk proved to be firearms and firelegs. She spent her childhood learning gun safety like her life literally depended on it and mastering her ability to adjust bullet trajectory as long as it was within 328 feet.

She was fast-tracked into a hero school due to the lethal nature of her power but failed to properly control it when after shooting 2 robbers dead before she had her license, and critically wounding the other who testified that she did not follow proper self-defense protocol. Despite protests in favor of an innocent verdict, a compromise had to be reached, leading to her getting held back a year and sent overseas to Japan, where she would have much less freedom to misuse her powers and a stricter education.

In terms of personality, she is brash and prickly, often charging into situations before evacuations are finished to set up shots before a villain realizes she's there. Her Japanese is good enough to get by in conversation, but she is a proud American, especially in situations where that is a bad thing. Despises having to wear a uniform to school, but knows she's on thin ice enough not to complain too much.

Lately, she's fallen hard for Noah Abrams, and has been trying to ingratiate herself to his family, even though they're Catholic and she's a Protestant. More importantly, her anger issues and extremely deadly quirk have gotten the attention of Japanese villainy and they have become eager to twist her to their use. In particular, the infamous Desolator has reached out with a one-time offer: a chance to free herself from the web of obligations and limitations in the world and be taught the honorable craft of killing people for money.

Sally McCathy has survived roughly a year in Japan despite the wishes of the federal agents back home, and is less of stranger to the country now. She has friends, an angel boyfriend, rivals, and a redoubled resolve to keep herself from getting sent home while still doling out ballistic justice where she can.

Sally is still ardently stubborn and patriotic, but she at least tries to control it in situations where it may hurt herself and others. Her years of experience at the range, sharpened by her teacher's guidance, have enabled her to consistently hit targets accurately within 100 meters.

Fatigue Boost is a Transformation type.

Background

Kaga is an avid martial artist. He loves training his body and perfecting his technique, and cherishes the peace of mind and focus that martial arts practice brings. He is easily irritated by people not taking him seriously or looking down on him, because of his unusually small size for his age and baby-faced appearance. C. Mitsurugi

Chihiro Mitsurugi | HN: "The Ascetic Sword Hero" Yako

Life Taker: A quirk that can steal vitality, or 'Qi,' from nearby life forms and store it inside of her body. These stores can be converted into temporarily enhanced speed.

A small teen girl with a cold expression, black hair, and red eyes. She is wearing a casual white tee, belted high-waisted black capris, and black basketball shoes. The only spot of color is a leather wrist band.
Life Taker is a Transformation type.

Background

The daughter of a kind husband and wife who ran a dojo for various sword related martial arts. Her father was a cheerful eccentric who loved learning new forms of swordsmanship from around the world, while her mother was a quiet but confident user of an older form of Japanese swordsmanship passed down in her family's dojo, which was then passed down her Chihiro herself.

Chihiro was believed to be the same as her parents, quirkless, as she hadn't shown signs of having a quirk even at the age of eight. Instead, she had taken in the extensive martial arts acumen of her parents, becoming the leader of the Dojo's younger generation. It all ended when her quirk finally manifested. With no idea she even had a quirk, or that it was active, she unknowingly drained her parents and a few dozen members of the Dojo to death, leaving her traumatized and alone.

Her remaining relatives feared her and refused to take her in, resulting in Chihiro living alone in the empty shell of a Dojo where she trained to master her quirk and her family's swordsmanship.

Having attended Shiketsu for a year now, she's certainly accomplished her goal of refining her skills, but even more than that she's found new purpose in the friends that have come to support her. She hopes to become a respectable Pro Hero that can protect the world they live in. She suffers from some lingering self-esteem issues, but to a large extent she's come to value her own life and has learned that putting herself in unnecessary danger only causes trouble for the people around her.

Chihiro is a quiet and pragmatic girl, often favoring action over words. Or more accurately, she's deeply awkward and struggles to find a good reply in conversation. She has no desire to abandon the sins she's committed or the burden it puts upon her, but she also seeks to become happy in spite of it. A bastion of an iron, yet gentle, well that abandons nothing while still forging ahead to the future- that's the kind of hero she strives to become. Needless to say she loves her friends and her class with all her heart, and wouldn't think twice about putting her life on the line when push comes to shove.

I. Myoga

Inigo Myoga | HN: "The Dragon-Knight" Ryukishi

Noble Dragon: Instinctive creation of a quirk-construct named Gigan, which urges him to do good and see the best in others - even villains. Gigan can change shape, color, and size to an astonishing degree, limited only by willpower and imagination.

A grinning teen boy with blond hair and a cute green dragon perched on his arm. The boy is wearing a black suit with a red tie and hi-top sneakers.
Noble Dragon is an Emitter type.

Background

That's not his real name. Born of a quirk marriage, Inigo is the 3rd heir in line for the Daiichi Ikka - his true name: Inigo Daiichi. The Daiichi Ikka is a Yakuza group whose territory lies south of the Kyoto region. They are known for their code of chivalry and for creating villains with dragon-themed quirks. Inigo has been trained since birth to be a high ranking member of the organization and commands the deference of a loyal splinter of its members.

Originally, he convinced his family to send him to Shiketsu so he could act as an infiltrator for the school and spy on the many Pro Heroes connected to it. His cover identity of Inigo Myoga, simple farm boy, enabled him to start all over again - and he soon found himself enthusiastically living the lie and turning coat against his superiors in the clan.

However, he has not abandoned the Yakuza lifestyle entirely. Even as he uses his standing and his connections for his own ends and minor pleasures, he remains entangled in the responsibilities of being one of the princes of organized crime in Japan. The double life is exhausting and he keeps dragging his new friends into the shadows with him, even as he struggles to keep the true extent of his past a secret.

The enhanced form is a gradient dependent on her level of acute stress response.

A broad, athletic girl in the Shiketsu female uniform. She has a mildly irritated expression, impatient body language, oversized black eyes, and short black hair similar to a bowl cut.
Wasuremono is an unusual Combination quirk type.

Background

Nyoro Hoge, aka Maru(maru), is overall average, androgynous, and nondescript.

Hoge spent her childhood after her quirk manifested being overlooked, ignored, and depersonalized. This has left her socially awkward and desperate for recognition, which has led to becoming a workaholic perfectionist. Her greatest dream is to become a popular and dependable professional Hero, but though her drive is great her natural talent is low.

Hoge uses the persona of Marumaru to live large and has found a deep thrill in the danger and athleticism of Hero work. She is also particular, eccentric, superstitious, and sentimental, and though a resolute rules-follower the rules she follows only have a partial overlap to wider society. On the other hand, she's clever, willful, and helpful, and her loyalty goes far beyond a normal person's limits.

Lately, Hoge has been getting wrapped up in other people's problems due to her nosiness and boundary pushing. She was part of the conspiracy to discover and uproot the criminal elements in the Shiketsu staff that were leaking information to organized crime, and along the way crossed multiple professional villains by happenstance. Bite the Dust: Runt LOVES eating dirt. So fucking much. Whenever he does, he gets a boost in his muscles, speed and a freakish level of flexibility in his joints. He says the dirt "loosens things up." Runt is not immune to the effects of eating dirt. He doesn't just eat dust, though. Bite the Dust is a Transformation type.

Background

At a young age, Runt was abandoned in the concrete jungle and was adopted by a family of dust bunnies. He was raised by them, frolicking with them in his empty lot, learning life lessons and dancing wherever the wind took them. However, one day, his quirk awakened and he fell prey to his taboo hunger. In a haze he devoured his adoptive family whole. His dust-father, dust-mother, even his siblings.

Only when he recovered, their lint still on his hands, did he realize that he would never be a dust bunny...

But a dust devil.

The cops showed up shortly after this, since the HOA called about some grimy little motherfucker lowering the property values by being visibly homeless.

So Runt's in moron mode 24/7 basically. Comically gullible. He stares off into space, laughs at his own non-sequitur, and spends all of his free time commenting "is this real????" under obviously fake videos of dogs and cats skateboarding. He's technically nice, but so was Lenny in Of Mice and Men. Still killed a lady. Watch your back around him, because if he snaps that dopey smile gets ugly quick.

Runt is also convinced that he's destined to bring about the end of Shiketsu and also the world, but it's hard to take him seriously when his vague apocalyptic ramblings get interrupted by his lack of attention span. It's a good thing he keeps forgetting he has an evil destiny and instead tries to have a good time with all his new friends.

Runt is an inexplicable fan of an obscure African mercenary made of silty loam. Sends him crude fan mail mostly containing drawings of Runt ambushing and eating the terrified recipient, as well as small change and loose rocks as "walking around money."

Y. Sagara

Yui Sagara | HN: "Binding Hero" Capture Cloth

Red Thread: Allows for the production of textile-like material from the body that links bound targets. The nature of the link is determined by the level of connection, with a simple loop being sufficient for a telepathic bond while a physical bond would require each affected area to be thoroughly bound.

A curvy young woman with a confrontational expression, cherry-red eyes, and wild white hair. She is wearing athletic leggings, tall red boots, a cropped red sweater, and a sporty hooded jacket.
Red Thread is an Emitter type.

Background

The trajectory of Yui's life was decided from the moment she was born. Fate, as she would call it. As an orphan rotting in a slum, it seemed that fate was to grovel at others' feet until she died alone and forgotten. Of course, she couldn't accept that, instead deciding to carve her own fate as a Villain from a young age. This led to years of low-level criminal activity until she bit off more than she could chew and ended up at the mercy of Rosethorn. Due to her age and the mostly petty nature of her crimes, she gave Yui an ultimatum: attend and graduate from a Hero school or be imprisoned for her unlicensed quirk usage. Although she resisted at first, she reluctantly chose the former.

As a student, Yui can be described as a bit of a delinquent. She doesn't get along well with her peers or pay much attention in class, even going as far as to provoke other students and teachers. This is caused by both resentment that her fate is no longer in her control and self-consciousness. Having acted as a Villain for so long, she expects others to treat her like one regardless of what she does. While usually belligerent, she can be carefree and caring when her rough exterior is shed. Though, she'll still retain some meanness in the form of teasing while also being rather clingy.

Lately, her classmates have been severely testing her patience, while also inspiring her to take the risk on further connections. She is irritated at all the secrets everyone has been keeping, but most of all, because they're acting like they're getting away with it. She retains a very close bond with the senior Nene who had been a classmate before Yui was held back a grade.

B. Samson

Bobby Samson | HN: "High Noon Hero" Sunlight Man

Solar Powered: Bobby constantly absorbs solar radiation, greatly enhancing his strength and durability and causing his body to glow with golden light while exerting himself. While fighting in broad daylight, Bobby's ability to maintain his quirk is limited only by the physical strain all quirks cause. Once the sun sets, however, he has merely an hour before he's rendered essentially quirkless.

An athletic teen boy with cornsilk-colored hair and golden eyes. He is wearing a black t-shirt that says Bright Future on it, and is giving the viewer a grinning thumbs-up.
Solar Powered is a Transformation type.

Background

Over a decade ago, the day was saved by America's Number 1 Hero Sun Man. The paragon of justice stood tall against The Four Horsemen - one of the most ruthless and powerful villain groups in history - sacrificing his own life to save countless others. His surviving family included his wife and super-powered partner LifeLight (who lost her vision in the battle) as well as their unborn son.

Today, the child of the legendary Sun Man goes by Bobby. Despite the hero family's sacrifice, the mother and son were completely abandoned by the hero system and left to fend for themselves. As soon as he was old enough to do so, the boy began looking for ways to support his mother—participating in illegal underground fight clubs, engaging in petty crime, etc. After a much more serious arrest, the U.S. government offered to drop his charges if he could get into and complete the program at the world's top Hero School in Japan.

Despite his rough upbringing, Bobby doesn't typically come off as someone with a chip on his shoulder. He has a carefree, laidback personality, and while he didn't initially take his hero studies seriously, not all is as it appears.

He has a complicated relationship with his father's legacy and the hefty expectations placed on him as a result, yet he can't help but look up to those who risk their lives to protect the innocent. Even if he doesn't openly praise his father the way most strangers do, his own choice of hero name betrays his feelings. And despite his undisciplined attitude, he studied hard in private to learn Japanese in preparation for his trip oversees. He's not exactly the slacker he wants others to believe he is.

Coming into his second year at Shiketsu, Bobby now has even greater motivation to become as strong as he possibly can. He has a lot more people to care about—people who need his protection. And in the aftermath of recent atrocities, he feels he must put a stop to the monster his old friend has become.

Quirk Definement: Bobby can only absorb sunlight, making him functionally quirkless at night. Something like candlelight or artificial UV would do nothing for him. The intensity of his quirk during the day has caused him to actively suppress its use for most of his life, though training at Shiketsu has helped him to more safely control its output.

K. Suzuki

Kaylee Suzuki | HN: "The Headstrong Hero" Flying Force

Flying Force: Apparently, it completely changes how the body uses chemical energy, such as food. Allows the projection of high-energy bursts from anywhere on the body, increases the efficiency of metabolism, causes higher density of muscle tissue, and heals from near-death abnormally efficiently. The projection of "plasma" from the hands and feet easily enables flight, among the more offensive uses.

A muscular teen girl with thick cyan hair kept in a high, loose ponytail. She is wearing tight athletic clothing and white trainers.
Flying Force is an unusual Combination quirk type.

Background

Kaylee was found abandoned as an infant and grew up in an orphanage in the United Kingdom, where she didn't fit in and was frequently at odds with the staff due to her loud, aggressive, and prideful personality. In an effort to change her situation, she applied to attend everywhere she found accepting students, no matter where it would be. Shiketsu saw her potential as an athlete, if not as an academic, and allowed her to attend on scholarship.

Lately, she took to squatting in a storage room in the gym, and taking advantage of her generous cafeteria budget to eat as much as possible and work out to her heart's content. She has been thriving in the rigors of the Hero Program structure, even branching out to things she believed she had no talent for, such as chess and carpentry.

However, she was also caught moonlighting in vigilantism, became critically injured, and fell into an extended coma. The crime was covered up by the school but - fully healed - she remains under intense scrutiny. She's completed her first year with middling academic grades, but high heroics grades, moving up to a Sophomore. Though it is unspoken, her life as a student and resident of Japan is now beholden to the whims of the administrator.

Quirk Compulsion

Kaylee has a fundamental drive for battle, even if she doesn't realize it. It starts as restless leg syndrome and a nagging in her mind, but without release it can escalate beyond control. When she is fighting someone weaker than her it is largely unnoticeable, but when pushed into a corner she will become more rash and reckless, getting worse the harder she has to fight for survival.

Quirk Refinement

When Kaylee recovers from an injury, her body will typically reach a greater level of strength, like a muscle getting stronger after it experiences tears and fatigue. This can scale with the damage received, but has diminishing returns after a point, and does nothing to help a permanent injury, like losing a body part.

Cosmetic Mutation

Kaylee is ridiculously tall, especially for a girl. She stands at a ludicrous 220 centimeters and still growing, and is very self conscious about it. At least she is proportional, as though she were scaled up. From this she has become a fan of other tall female heroes, such as Mt. Lady, and even vigilantes such as Aquarius.

J. Takagi

Junichi "Joon" Takagi | HN: Marrow

Skeleton Forest: Junichi can manipulate and grow his skeleton and bones as he wills, however, any new bone he grows or any changes to their shape remains permanent.

A young man with shaggy black hair, relaxed posture, but purple eyes in a confrontational glare. He is wearing worn-out punk clothing with a furred-collar flight coat.
Junichi is a Transformation type.

Background

Junichi's life was like any other, for his early life. No, this boy's story doesn't start until he is a young lad, approaching his teens. Caught in the middle of a particularly violent and wide-scale fight between the Heroes and a Villain, Junichi's parents became collateral damage. The building they were in collapsed, and the Heroes on site couldn't stabilize it. Whether they prioritized other areas of the building, or simply didn't make it in time, Junichi didn't know and never found out.

What he did find out, was how any collateral damage was a mere footnote. The Heroes involved cheerily boasted on television when they were interviewed, proud of how they had performed and taken that dangerous villain down. Junichi was shattered. Faced with this, Junichi decided that the system of heroes was wrong. They cared only for themselves, and chasing glory, not actually helping people. But... he could become that Hero. The real one, who would save people instead of letting them die. So he began training, despite the pain.

You see, Junichi's quirk manipulated his own skeletal system, and after an unfortunate and very painful accident at a young age - which left him with several bony nubs dotting along his forearm (after being sawed down, of course) - he'd never used his quirk out of fear. The pain was too much for him. But, with this new desire, almost irrational in its fervor to do something, anything to do right by his dead family, he pushed through. Even as tears flowed freely, he practiced using his Quirk, he trained his body, all so he could become a hero.

Naturally, he applied to a Hero academy... and was rejected, despite his performance. His Quirk was deemed inappropriate for a Hero, too gory and macabre. Junichi tried to appeal, racking his brain and providing any possible usage for his power he could think of, going to other authorities within the school, even begging. Of course, these measures failed.

Broken down further, Junichi spiraled into a deep depression, and only deep in this state could he finally realize 'the truth', and that was... the world didn't care. The Heroes didn't care. They denied him the chance to truly help, because the world was broken, corrupt and rotten to the core. Just like nobody saved his parents, he wasn't even allowed to try and right the wrongs of the world.

No, to truly change the world, he needed to change it at its roots. Tear it all up, and replace it with something new, something better. So he went looking, quietly, until after some time he joined the terrorist organization 'Legion'. He would direct all his anger, all of his pain... and change the world.

That's what he told himself.

The past year has been a whirlwind for Junichi. He met Inigo and became wrapped up in the wars between Yakuza clans, somehow convinced the most dangerous hitman in the world - Desolator - that he was worth taking under his wing, and symbolically broke the nose of a multinational criminal conspiracy of human traffickers. He also learned that the Legion was just as unidealistic and corrupt as the pro Heroes, and so now he is looking for a road to walk that is all his own.

This revelation came just before a formal offer from Shiketsu Academy to join their class of Sophomores in the Hero program. It is unlikely the opportunity would have ever come if not for the widely publicized controversies around the school and the loss of so many students, though obviously such a thing went unsaid in the letter Junichi received. Furthermore, if he accepted, the tuition had already been paid in advance by an anonymous benefactor, so it was truly being made without strings attached.

If Inigo could attend and still live free, then Junichi could too, couldn't he? And there were other people he knew that attended, so there was even less reason to avoid it. It could be really annoying... It could be useful. It might possibly even be fun. If he couldn't stand it then he'd just bail on all of them. It would be fine. He could surely handle anything they could throw at him.

Why not?

Self target, skeletal system, permanent duration
Shape, quantity, and size functions.
Note: Most uses of this quirk are incredibly painful as it involves protruding bone to use as weaponry or physical constructs through Junichi's own skin and muscles. The alterations by this quirk are not instant, but they are quite fast, slowing down the more he tries to generate; as his scope increases, his 'action speed' so to speak, decreases in proportion.

H. Takeda

Hifumi Takeda | HN: "Warp Blade Hero" Challenger

Blink: The ability to teleport while his eyes are closed, returning to the original position when his eyes open. The teleportation maintains momentum, but he can freely decide location and orientation of his body while doing so - as long as he can clearly imagine the place where he's going and who he is taking. The more familiar he is with both, the faster and easier the process to Blink away.

A confident teen boy with thick, slicked back black hair. He is looking off into the distance, is crossing his arms, and is wearing a black hoodie with casual orange pants.
Blink is an Emitter type.

Background

Even before entering a Hero Academy, Hifumi had been training for the career. He's a hot-blooded youth with big dreams from the poor part of Kyoto and a large, loving, supportive family. His goal is to be the coolest man there is: the number one hero.

Lately, Hifumi had taken to the life of a Hero Student like a fish to water. He made plenty of new friends, a close crew in The Boys, and encouraged his peers to be their best and hold to their ideals. He believed his life would continue to get better and better, especially after his picturesque romance with Hailey.

However, things would not be that simple. First, one of his friends began to lose himself. Then, a chance encounter with a major villain saw him fighting for his life, drugged with a quirk stimulant, and comatose in hospital. During that time, Sandatsu Owari lost his mind completely and began a campaign of blood-soaked terrorism that spread across two continents. Hifumi woke up to a nightmare.

But even though it tarnished his optimism, it didn't break his convictions. He struggles even now to overcome the odds and find the path to the greatest good.

Speedster: Speedster grants Ian superhuman speed and the physiology to handle it. His perception of time is drastically slowed down, allowing him to see everything around him as incredibly slow.

Three portraits of a slight young man with a pink jacket, pale yellow hair, and red hair beads. He has an analytical expression in two portraits, and a mocking expression in the third.
Speedster is a Heteromorphic type.

Background

Ian comes off as a highly energetic and optimistic person. He is enthusiastic about sports and physical activities, often coming across as a bit too intense for some people. Overall, a very friendly and approachable kind of guy. Despite his hyperactivity, Ian has been trained to maintain his focus and discipline, enabling him to carry out his duties effectively even under pressure, and he possesses a pragmatic and methodical side reserved to his missions.

Right as Ian was about to start his mission, the Hero Public Safety Commission became non-operational due to a lack of leadership. This sudden disruption has left Ian unsure of how to proceed. He has been struggling to contact his superiors and receive further instructions. With no clear guidance, Ian's undercover role has begun to feel like his real life. He continues his mission out of dedication and a sense of duty, but the lack of support makes his task increasingly challenging.

Lately, he has been hiding a teenage drop-out named Jugo from authority figures that believe him to be dead, as well as the villains who previously tried to kill him, so that he can be used as a surprise asset if required. He has also let in select members of the student body on the secret of his assignment and about his doubts surrounding the government leadership.

He has learned to live with this and match his speed to others, but it remains a bothersome aspect of his daily life. At his max speed, Ian can push Mach 2, but such an effort takes a toll.
Quirk Definement: He becomes restless when not engaged in activities, feeling a constant need to move or do something. This hyperactive nature is managed through training by the Commission, but it remains a constant annoyance. He also requires a significantly higher caloric intake to sustain his energy levels.
Note: His metabolism is extremely fast, necessitating a large food intake to maintain his energy levels, but it allows him to recover fast. While he is always super fast in his default state, he can reach even higher speeds in bursts of about 10 seconds, though he must pause for one second after each burst to recover.

T. Tame

Takara Tame | HN: "Everybody's Friend" Android

Upgrade: Able to consume people's DNA and then convert it into a quirk compatible with her robotic body. It will last for as long as the two remain on friendly terms.

A mild-mannered girl with blue-black hair that reaches the small of her back and obviously robotic joints and eyes. Her skin is as white as paper. She is holding a potato-shaped corgi that is sleeping comfortably in her arms. Her outfit is a professional, clean-pressed white shirt, blue-black arm band, and the same color necktie, vest, and skirt.
Upgrade is a Heteromorphic type.

Background

Takara was born in a body that could not grow alongside her brain. Her parents, in desperation, bent all of their resources and will into creating a full body prosthetic for their child - one that could be modified as needed for as long as they were around.

This was only successful due to Takara's quirk, which was able to interface between Takara's remaining biological parts and the new robotic body they were given. This is The Root, an "upgrade slot" representing Takara's gratitude and familial love. Unfortunately, it takes everything they have to repair and maintain her prosthesis, and her family has been left impoverished. Debuting in the Hero Rankings is a chance for a financial windfall - not to mention a life's purpose - that would let Takara save her parents in turn.

Takara has an extremely powerful quirk. Possessed of a robotic body that's impressively durable and full of all sorts of useful tools and gadgets for any situation, her body is stronger and more durable than the normal student and her mind is even further beyond. She performs impressive feats of acrobatics using thrusters and such built into her body. She has an incredible power to consume peoples DNA and then convert their quirk into an Upgrade to her body which can last as long as the two remain on friendly terms (Personal limitation) because she believes that friendship is the route to true strength. Currently there are no other upgrades installed beyond the Root that can't be removed.

Upgrades are not as strong as the original quirk at the first level, and her body tends to overheat if using extremely intensive powers for long. It takes two hours for her body to create the Upgrade but they can be slotted in at any time after that point provided she still believes it is a valid upgrade. She is a poor student who barely managed to get approved for school based on her parents, a famous Support designer who created extremely impressive power armor to fight Kaiju and a man with a quirk almost identical to her Root.

The more slots that are filled with the same Upgrade, the more powerful it will get, leading to the possibility of a very adaptable kit great for almost all hero work.

Personality-wise, her desire for approval and friendship has turned her into something of a doormat. She also has less ability to emote than other people even though her emotions are just as complex, which can lead to people seeing only the robot and forgetting the girl inside it.

D. Thorpe

Deckard Thorpe | HN: "The Magnificent" Kid Question

Swap-Meet: Allows to instantly swap the positions of two or more objects or people, provided they can be seen and pointed to.

A thin teen boy wearing a black beanie on top of his shaggy purple hair. He is smiling in a cocksure manner. The boy is wearing a watch on each wrist, a white dress shirt with an open collar and rolled up sleeves, an open black suit blazer, a loose black tie with a silver tie clip, and striped black and gray suspenders attached to black slacks. It is visibly an algorithmically generated image.
Swap-Meet is an Emitter type.

Background

Deckard Thorpe is the kind of guy who’s always up for a chat, radiating charm and wit with a touch of a smartass streak. He thrives on small talk and never misses a chance to blabber, often peppering conversations with quips or cheeky remarks. While his cocky, cool exterior might give the impression he’s got it all figured out, beneath the surface Deckard wrestles with bouts of crushing insecurity. He recently overhauled his entire wardrobe to be more "hip," all in an effort to keep up appearances.

At heart, though, Deckard is a geek through and through—a former Hat Fortress 3 addict who daydreams more often than he’ll admit. He loves “novelties” and can get fixated on random topics, like the history of oatmeal after eating one particularly good bowl or creating a daily vitamin routine because he enjoyed the packaging of a bottle of Flintstone vitamin gummies. His pride is flexible to the point of hilarity; he’ll be the first one to poke fun at himself, and be very open to others doing the same, but get very flustered if anyone/anything he did was (at least to him) embarrassing. That said, he’s got a good heart and always apologizes profusely if his jokes go too far and hurt someone’s feelings.

Despite his outgoing nature, Deckard keeps his deeper thoughts locked away, only venting his insecurities and personal musings in his journal (which he insists is not a diary). For all his self-deprecating humor and flashy confidence, Deckard is just trying to figure himself out like everyone else, even if his way of coping involves oatmeal trivia and day dreaming about how his life would be a lot cooler if it was like Dazed and Confused.

Deckard Thorpe doesn’t have much of a reputation yet at his transfer school, Shiketsu, having only joined this semester. Sitting comfortably in the middle of the social ladder in his class, 2-D, he’s neither a standout nor a recluse—just another face in the lineup. While he keeps up his usual friendly and talkative demeanor, the uncertainty of starting fresh in a place where no one really knows him makes him a bit nervous. Still, he holds onto hope that he’ll get invited to at least one party. That’s not too much to ask, right?

Fun Facts:

-Before his costume redesign, he was often called "Clown Question" by those who followed Hero Students. You have no idea how much Thorpe thought about this moniker in bed late at night but admitted that it was actually kind of funny.

-Thorpe spends much more time on the internet then he lets on and often surprises people when he picks up on their niche references. No he will never admit he still plays DoBlox.

-Thorpe, when watching a good movie/show, will often pick up the personality traits of a character in liked in a movie. It is better not to question why Thorpe acts a lot like Seinfeld.
