Our principal gave a speech about "Care for Others" last week. She talked about being kind, caring, and forgiving. Everyone was expected to listen and clap at the end. It seemed like a nice message at first. I hate it. I can't imagine anything worse than listening to a long speech about caring. Seriously, does our principal think we're all perfect angels? No way, I will never pretend to be one! The speech wasn't just about caring. It was about forgiving people, too. But I don't want to forgive some people. Forgiveness is hard! It's easier to avoid people and not care about them at all. I mean, our principal can't be serious with this speech! And by the way, the speech was so long. I don't have the attention span for this. I spent most of the speech looking down at my shoes because I was bored. I'd rather be hanging out with Zari, even though she talks too much. We need shorter speeches at school. Speeches about care and forgiveness are too much. Our principal should stick to short announcements. Besides, I don't plan on forgiving anyone anytime soon.
