A backstory detailing the early adventures of Alphonse, who, after barely surviving the forces of nature, is roped into a grand scheme with his new partner Bethel. Of course, they are joined alongside a colorful cast of several other characters, all with different morals, goals, and, most importantly, vendettas.
At the end of the day, who is in charge of determining if our actions are just? Does it solely lie within our own grasp, or do we require external forces to keep us from being led astray?

The debut story of Alphonse and Bethel into the Clover Guild, at long last. As the two enter a whole new world filled with colorful characters, they begin to finally live normal, modest lives, at least in comparison to their troubled pasts. Will the two manage to fit in with ease, or does the path ahead still have several bumps in the road?
After all, change does not happen overnight. Especially when your past refuses to let you go without a fight.

A troubled youth who ran away from their original home and was formerly living in solitude up until a huge storm toppled his home and nearly ended his life. Desperate to prove his worth to anyone he can based on events in his past. Awkward and standoffish, not used to kindness or generosity. Gradually learning about life on the the greener side of the fence. Constantly seen with his black cloak on, which serves as his security blanket.
Obedient to a fault, life long friend.
Bethel

Nature: Adamant
Accessory: Bandana
A enigmatic rogue with a penchant for trouble and a love of all things musical. Constant jail cell hopper and infamous outlaw. Sticky fingers (or paws). Secretly has a heart of gold that is hidden under layers and layers of disdain and scorn due to her tragic upbringing as a lone orphan. Known for her mean streaks, but genuinely hopes to break them altogether. Prefers to stand on two legs when she can.
The kind of girl your parents warned you about.

The muscle and de-facto leader of the four thieves. A man of few words, but plenty of actions. Holds a very strong sense of justice, even in his own warped view of it. Commonly breaks things out of frustration, but detests what he considers "unnecessary" violence.

The intelligence operative of the four thieves. A very classy lady, appreciates the finer things in life and doesn't like getting her hands very dirty, but will show no hesitation to take what she needs. A bit of a snob.

The self-proclaimed brainiac of the four thieves. There's some truth to it. He loves sarcasm and crude jokes as much as he loves tinkering with ancient technology and gadgets. Not the best at social situations as a result. Would rather tinker with his loot.
Lazlo
Species: Male Smeargle
Age: Elder
Nature: Modest
Accessory: Poncho
A wise old soul who's seen it all. No artistic talent in the visual sense, but loves to collect and tell stories of the Pokemon he comes across in his travels. More than he lets on. Has a great sense of heroism and doing whats right for others, but also knows well and plain that life is not black and white. Loves to "hit the sauce". Fermented berries exist, right?
