>EPILOGUE, EXTRA
"You got us jobs as janitors?" Bethel exclaimed, hardly able to hold back her shock.
"I mean, it's just to start," Alphonse shyly said.
"You got us. Jobs. As janitors." Bethel said.
"Lazlo said to think of it as community service. He wanted us to do just a bit more good for all the commotion we had caused." Alphonse added.
"..."
Bethel was speechless.
"Are you alright, Bethel?" Alphonse asked with great concern.
"I'm starting to have doubts if you saved me after all..." Bethel moaned.
Somewhere else in local time, but farther in space, three Pokemon continued their voyage across the lands. Their voices were filled with wanderlust; one could scarily make out their laughter along the howling winds of the wilds.
"Can we take a break soon? My body is aching," called a voice. It sounded suspiciously like Gattz.
"Gattz, dear, we've only just started our journey. We can't rest so soon!" Ephie's voice giggled.
"But I am a bit concerned about you, dear. Are you sure you're okay to keep going, Del?"
"I'll be fine," Del's voice said in a low cheer. "The sooner we get out of here, the better."
"I never pictured it ending like this," Gattz's voice sighed.
"I always thought we'd go out in a final blaze of glory, defending our fortunes tooth and nail."
"What a hopeless romantic," Ephie's voice teased.
"But you know the deal. Just like that odd old Smeargle said, this is our last opportunity for a new life."
"I don't intend to waste it, not for a second. I see myself settling down in a nice big village, maybe meeting a nice man who would cater to my every whim and take me on luxurious trips through the market." Ephie spoke with glee.
"Hm. Settling down a bit would be alright, I suppose. It would give me more time to continue my studies into the old, strange technology of the dungeons." Gattz wondered aloud.
"What about you, Del? You've been pretty quiet."
"I'm not entirely sure yet." Del admitted.
The voices stopped momentarily. Then the feminine voice of Ephie picked back up.
"Still, there are plenty of threats that loom just around the corner. Our old 'colleagues', being near the top of that list." Ephie growled.
"Del, did you ever find those punks and bash their heads in?" Gattz's shrill, albeit masculine voice harped on.
"Nope." Del grimly replied.
Another brief pause. Del's bearish voice lit back up in the ears of his allies.
"But should any trouble arise, we'll be ready."
A star twinkled in the distance. The three travelers looked up at the light, seeing it as an omen.
"Beth, Al... wherever you two end up, we'll be rooting for you both." Del smiled.
"...But don't let your guards down. Stay sharp, as you never really know what's lurking around the corner until it pops out."
