I saw an L2D of a girl getting whipped/stripped/etc. How do I get that?
Obtain 1 copy of that girl's costume and check the Glupy Diner pack once you unlock it - chances are she'll be there as "Fated Guest". Start dating her, unlock her special interaction, and go wild. Nebris (Newbie Pass) and Morpeah (Event Mission) are you starter wives.
Who do I take from the Infinite Reroll?
Celia and especially Eleaneer are popular options, but you can choose any 5★ you like the looks of.
You get to recruit the girls you didn't chose (+a dupe for the girl you did choose) for free from the pub later anyway.
Celia (left) is a supporter for (endgame) PvE boss fights and raids. The main value in recruiting her now is that it lets you use her Field Skill (absorb all map finds) right away, which is a nice QoL to have. Tip: Activate Lathel's Search first, that way she absorbs all hidden finds too.
Eleaneer is an 11/10 sexo alternative if you'd rather have a good extra (Phys) DPS option or want all of her glorious boobage on your homescreen. She's also the only non-limited 2SP dispel in the game (at +3), which makes her great in PvP later and can help you get some extra Dias every week.
For Equipment the value is Kry's UR Swords > Eleaneer's SR Bow (if you took her)/Wiggle's UR Bomb > Justia's SR Sword.
Don't waste hours on trying to get Celia + Kry's Swords or any such "perfect roll", it's all just minor stuff. Any of the above will help you.
How to "True Reroll"?
Play Story Pack 1 until you get your starter pulls, collect draw tickets from active events/codes, and pull on a banner you like.
✔️Got the rate-up girl or a double/triple 5★ hit in those starter pulls? KEEP (link account)
❌Didn't get the rate-up girl or any double/triple 5★ hits? Restart.
Only sorta worth it if you start during the banner of your wife.
Newglutti Tips
- UREX/gear banners are for users who want to compete in ranked content, or if the unit is (you)r wife.
UREX gear usually only offers a small dps increase (~10%) compared to crafted URIVs (Free). You'll also get some UREXs for free every month.
Feel free to give gear banners a shot if she's your wife/she's crazy good, but burning all your newglutti pulls on these is a good way to brick. - You get a daily free pull on every banner. Rather than +5ing a new unit on Day 1 you might want to wait and see what the free pulls give you first.
- Use the monthly enhancer from the Gold Thread Shop to raise owned supports (eg +5 Liberta/Diana/Refi) before spending it on DPS units.
- Tears of Goddess are RARE. Don't waste them on 3/4★ units that aren't Arines, Elpis or Student Samay (buffers), DPS increases on non-DPS units or costumes (Olstein/Celia), or PvP exclusive units unless you're into PvP (Alec/Justia/Tanks).
- Join a GUILD after clearing SP3. Checking in daily gives you 50.000 gold, which is a huge deal for a new player, as well as key resources like pull tickets and powders via the Guild Raid Shop.
- If you like the game and can afford it: The $4.29 MEGA starter package (available for 3 days after you start) gives you over a 100 pulls, some good gear sets, and half a year's worth of materials - a value that you won't see in BD2 ever again. You'll get a notification before it expires.
Teambuilding
BD2 meta is all about Buffers and Gear. Pair your 2 strongest DPS with Elpis 4★ (if magic) or Arines 3★ (if physical), and make sure that your buffers go first in the skill order.
The other units in your party are flex. They exist to either reposition enemies (make your AoEs hit more mobs), to mop up leftovers, or to give extra buffs. Tanks are rarely used outside of PvP; if you do need a tank Andrew (4★ taunt/dodge tank) will usually suffice since you can just restart the turn if a key dodge fails.
Starter Teams
The game kickstarts you with Physical, so your first team will likely look something like this:
Unit Roles: Buffer>Reposition>AoE/Wide DPS (mob clearing)>Nuker/Focused DPS
Q: Can I play Magic instead?
You can, and especially early on you probably should. After the 2.0anni update players have access to several free strong mages right away: Summer Dalvi (Event Missions, Free +5) + WDVenaka (Pub) is a great tandem that can carry a lot of the game for you, and with Bride Eclipse (Event Missions, Free +5) and optionally Last Hope Loen (Newbie Pass Draw) you'll have solid DPS options for 3 out of the 5 elements already. The only downside is that the free magic buffer is a 4★ (compared to the physical 3★), so she'll take a bit longer to max out.
Elpis, (WD)Venaka and S.Dalvi, a very strong and easily accessible Magic team.
The remaining spots can be other DPS, Supports (BATeresse) and/or utility as needed.
How to Clear Content?
Most PvE content can be oneshot with a buffed and geared 3x3/AoE DPS; simply use push skills and position well to make hits connect.
When you can't oneshot (eg when you run into HP Bloat) you need to improve your characters (gear+dupes) and/or play by the Elements System.
This means using the Diana you recruited from SP10/Newbie Select Draw with 1-2 DPS of a stronger element than the mobs you're facing. Example: Diana + 1-2 Wind DPS when in a pack with Water type enemies.
Besides playing Elements a lot of content can be cheesed by using a Silencer (Olstein/Lucrezia), stalling for death time (BVMorpeah), buffing up Apostle Blade (grid-wide counters), or using the Continue function. There's always solutions if you can't bruteforce something.
Physical vs. Magical
- Physical is what the game starts you out with and, in the current meta, has the highest potential at endgame once well invested.
Physical units/teams are all about chains, and are usually ran with Refi and Liberta.- Magic is a very strong option for one-shotting everything until that point with its free +5 welfare units (Brideclipse, SDalvi) and better free buffer.
Magic usually leans anti-chain; core DPS Mages like Venaka, Loen and Eclipse all use powerful single or double hit nukes. This pairs well with BATeresse (huge dmg boost vs targets with <6 chains), B-Helena and Diana.
In most content you use either Physical or Magical. In Fiend Hunt you use both Physical and Magic teams.
Ultimately, your goal in BD2 is to build roster. Grab all buffers you can & get at least 2 good DPS per element: one Physical and one Magic.
Gearing
Start by having Fred/Layla craft a Blue (R) IV set for your main DPS. Upgrade the pieces to +9 and refine them a couple times so that they are no longer CCC grade or similar. Likewise, do your Slime Island dispatches and feed the slimes to your strongest DPS - your team doesn't need to be equal in level.
Q: Where do I get more crafting materials?
Open the boxes you get from daily missions, and sweep up the "finds" on maps, esp. in SP7, 8 , 9 and 17.
TIP: Use Lathel or Zenith Search into Liberta or Celia absorb to instantly succ up both the hidden and regular daily finds.
You can also dispatch to resource stages on days where Slime Island doesn't have a 2x Rate-up bonus active.
The next major upgrade is UR Gear.
Craft (and dismantle) N-grade Merc Swords/Armor to quickly level up your crafter. Don't forget to upgrade Fred's/Layla's skill with a skillbook every time the XP bar is full. The Ability Pills you need come from the event shops.
Once you've unlocked UR Crafting the priority is Venomous Touch > Weapon/Gloves > double DEF/MRES Armor&Helmets (as needed to survive).
Below are the most commonly crafted pieces; ones not shown here are situational (for specific characters or PvP):
TIP: Try to get 3 Crit.DMG subrolls on your first few URIV Venomous Touch and double DEF/MRES Armors/Helmets!.
This allows them to be used by any DPS, melee and mages alike, which will really help you in for example Fiend Hunt.
If a boss is physical, your mages can equip full CDMG DEF gears to survive and still do their damage!
You may also acquire some good UR gear through other means:
- Use the code WAITING4LEGEND on the BD2 Code Redemption Portal for a Free URIII Venomous Touch.
- Contract Wars Pack: Exit the office using the left door and explore to find a helpful surprise.
- The MEGA newbie pack ($4.29) comes with two full URIII sets.
- You may also acquire UR Gear Boxes through Events.
Potential/Bond Priorities
Anything that enhances a skill's cooldown, SP cost, range or buff/vulnerability values takes priority over flat DPS increases.
Start with owned Buffers/Supports, followed by owned good DPS units.
- +Skill Range: Diana, Bride Refi, MCTeresse / Loen, S.Justia, Venaka, Maid Liatriss etc
- -Skill Cooldown: Diana, Curse Celia / DJVenaka, Maid Lia, PPAngelica etc
- +Buff Values: B-Helena, Diana, H-Lathel, Teresse, NHNebris etc
- +Vulnerability/Augmentation: TnFLevia, GRafina, WDVenaka, Y.Blade
- -SP Cost: Buffers/Supports (B-Helena, Refi etc) > DPS.
Q: What Costume Bonds do I use?
Generally Elemental Damage+ in Fiend Hunt/Guild Raids + any Tower stages, H/VH Packs that you can't one-shot and you have to play elements in. Otherwise C.DMG bond costumes.
For more tips and guidance check out the /bd2g/ Progression Checklist.
Units, Banners & Pulling
BD2 has costume and gear banners, both with their own pity trackers. You can't get gear from costume banners and vice versa. Costumes can be enhanced with dupes; gear cannot.
You get a free daily pull on every banner, and get 10 pulls cashback the first 5 times you obtain the rate-up costume (not gear).
Pity is 10 pulls for a random 4★ (or better) and 100 pulls for a 5★ (50/50 between banner target or random 5★).
You also get a Draw Point every time you pull on that banner. 200 Draw Points exchange to the banner target.
Unused draw points are collected at the end of a banner and converted into a global currency ("Powders") that can be exchange for costumes in the Powder Shop. You can also manually exchange draw points for powders before then.
Q: Do I PULL or SAVE?
Pull (in moderation), and PULL when good units are up, like during the game's Anniversary events.
May~June (Collab into anniversary) and December~January (.5 anniversary/winter) are the most stacked months in the game. The game has lots of events around that time, but if you really want play it safe start saving up at least a month in advance.
What banners do I pull on?
Banners for units you like most, since that is what gacha games are about.
Meta-wise Team Buffers, AoE (3x3+) Nukers/Chainers and Limited units are usually always safe investments.
The game showers you with free monthly pulls so it isn't hard to get at least one copy of every released unit. This gives you access to her skill, bio, dating content (if any) and L2D+Cutscene.
As a dupe reliant game, most (recent) costumes give -SP reduction at +1. But typically want to push good buffers and DPS to +4 or +5.
Your ultimate goal is to build your roster, ie. grab and max all buffers you can + have at least 2 DPS options per element (1 physical and 1 magic).
Pulling Strategy & Limiteds
You get a free daily pull on every banner. A popular budget strategy is to stop at +3 and then wait to see what the free pulls give you.
On the final day you can then push her to +4 and finish the costume (+5) with the Powder Shop copy afterwards.
- Limited units cannot be obtained or elevated outside of their banners. You'll need to get them to the + you want them at during their banner. Limiteds are rerun every year during the time they first appeared.
- Collab limiteds do not rerun. The developers have however begun to release permanent units with equal performance to take away from the fomo aspect. They are now mainly preference pulls.
- 5★ base costumes, like Archbishop Michaela, NoJLevia and WDVenaka, get added to the pub with their release. Recruit that costume from the pub within 2 weeks after its launch (with a 5★ Recruitment Contract) for 10 free Draw Tickets.
SHOPS: What do I buy?
Event Shops
The UR piece is great for newer accounts, as its guaranteed SSS rolls puts it on par with a URIII+ piece.
Especially Weapons, Gloves or Double Crit.DMG accessories will be massive boons to your account.
When buying the UR, remember that you also need 27 tokens to fully upgrade it (=5700 event currency total).
If you came in too late to clean the shop out (or if the UR is shit) follow the regular priority below.
Priority:
- 3x Tears of Goddess → Ancient Crystals → Draw Tickets
- Newglutti growth materials (4★ Rank-Up Stars, Red Slimes, Gold) and Ability Pills as needed.
- Essences/Refining Crystals
- Dump the rest into Refining Powders until the event ends. You'll thank me later.
Powder Shop (aka Mileage)
This is where you can get 1 copy of any recently finished, non-limited costume banner. The other units are options for the upcoming Fiend Hunt.
Most players stop pulling on units at +4 since the final copy doesn't give any tickets back. They then +5 her with this powder shop copy after that banner has ended.
- Buy whichever COSTUME(s) you like or are good. Prioritize buffers. When in doubt ask in /bd2g/.
Gold Thread Shop
- Monthly Selective Enhancement (1600).
Typically used to elevate owned supports or buffers (+5Diana/B-Helena, +3Zenith, +4GRafina/TFLevia) - The random costume (1600) may sometimes also be worth it, or be worth it even more than the selector in some cases. Ask in /bd2g/ if not sure.
- Start saving for next month's selector.
Spenders only:
- The Property Draw Ticket (1200) is good if you're still missing certain supports/buffers. Value: Wind = Light > Dark > the rest.
- Tears are never a bad option.
Guild Shop
- Tear → Elixers → Draw Tickets.
- Essences
- Scrolls (if needed)
- Refining Powders or save for next month's items.
Mirror War (PvP Shop)
- Monthly Costume (18000) → Monthly UR Ticket (6000).
- Leftovers can go into Refining Crystals or be saved for next month's costume/ticket.
You can easily afford both the costume and the ticket if you bulk queue your daily 40 PvP matches (set consumption to "10" and queue 4 games). It's no big deal if you miss the UR Ticket, that's just a bonus.
Tip: PVP rank is determined in the final 40minutes of the season on every Sunday (14:20-15:00 UTC)
Evil Castle Shop
- 4★ Ability Books as needed, this is the only place in the game to get them.
- Monthly Essences & Scrolls.
- 4★ Rank-up stars and 3★ Contracts are given out a lot via Events and the Newbie Pass, but the option is there if you're in a hurry for just a couple more.
Pub Recruitment Priority
You can recruit a pool of 3-5★ costumes in-game via the Pub system (Recruitment Contracts). The Newbie Pass gives you a lot of them, but outside of that they are a rare resource.
Most people trade their 3★ and 4★ Contracts into 5★ ones (Shop>Items) since you'll automatically max out your 3★ and 4★ units from pulling on banners. If there's specific units that you really want you can always choose to clear out at least the 3★ characters to increase the chance of the desired 5★ appearing. Clearing out the 4★ as well offers less value.
Q : Which Pub 5★ do I recruit first?
Some units are fixed (will always be in the pub of that Story Pack after you clear it, until you recruit them). Others are chance encounters. Each unit can only be recruited once.
The game cycles through all remaining Chance% pub recruits, and these guests change every 2h.
- Diana (SP10 pub)
- Olstein (SP4 pub)
-Major gold generator for newgluttis via daily dispatch ability. Also offers good survival in PvE with his AoE Silence. - Celia (Chance %)
-Map-wide absorb and a core chainer. - Venaka (Magic, Chance %) / Liatris (Physical, SP8 pub)
-3x3 AoE carry. Venaka has great synergy with S.Dalvi, which is a freely available +5 unit; Liatriss has very good damage via her DoT. - Dark Saintess Liberta (SP15)
-BiS Physical buffer. Heavy on dupes (needs +3 to replace Arines), so it's good to get started on her.
-Also offers additional Absorb charges for more ez map clearing.
Other useful units:
- Angelica (Chance %)
-Can save your ass on SP14 if you're really stuck on Nox and don't have a (Light) DPS to deal with him, but that is pretty much her only use. - Rou (SP4 Pub)
-Dodge tank/formation breaker. Very helpful in some of the later PvE chapters and PvP. - G.Refi (Chance %)
-QoL (map-wide glutti absorb). - Blade (SP15)
-Can hardcarry/cheese all standard PvE content+Towers with sufficient defense gears and a damage reduction support.
The rest is whoever you like and/or any of the above units (like Celia) who you delayed until later.
Try to keep a spare 5★ Contract on you after recruiting Diana.
That way if a new Story 5★ unit drops you can recruit her from the new pack & get 10 Draw Tickets during her banner.
The Select Draw Banners
There are a number of special banners in the game that allow players to quickly build their roster or force dupes of desired units.
[Newgluttis] Recommend Select Draw
This is a prefixed pool of 12 costumes. You get 12 tickets from the Newbie Pass; 5 more are available from the $4.29 MEGA package.
This package is available for 3 days after your first login, and will not return once it expires.
Maxing out the [Recommended] picks is fine for the most part. You get 1 copy of Diana from SP10, so with the $4.29 package you can exactly +5 all 3 buffers. If you can't, B-Helena and Diana are the absolute priorities.
Note that HLathel is still good, but is no longer as core as he was before. If you're big on Magic you're bound to get more use out of a +2 or +4 Levia.
If you've already got these, other solid options are Loen (Fire AoE DPS), Zenith, WDVenaka (both eventually want +3), and to a lesser extent GRafina & G.Refi (long-term investment).
You can toss the units you can't get into the 12pick select draw or raise them up with the monthly GT shop selector.
[Limited] 1-Pick Select Draw
Simply put, this lets you to re-create a pickup banner for any past (non-limited unit) of choice.
The selected unit gets the same (very slightly better) ~1.5% rate as during her actual pick-up banner. As with regular banners, you can get her during the 100th pull coinflip, or otherwise exchange for her via the 200 pulls hard pity. This part is important, because the hard pity mechanism is absent on the Standard Select Draw (draw points can only exchange to powders there). The target girl can be swapped out at any time, but only up to 10x.
This banner is mainly interesting for users who really want a specific Fated Guest, or who have a high-value unit that they really want to raise up fast.
Standard Select / 12pick Draw
This lets you slot in 12 costumes of choice, and every 5★ you obtain while pulling will be one of those 12 5★ units. The one exception is every 100th pull (guaranteed 5★), which still has a chance to be a random spook.
This is a good banner to build and raise your roster with. Like the 1-pick draw above, it will use any owned Purple tickets before it uses Red Tickets/Dias. Unlike the 1-pick draw however this one doesn't have a hard pity system in place - you can only exchange your draw points to powders.
Tips:
- If you're new, get buffers, supports, at least 2 Carry DPS/Nukers, and aim for 1 copy of each of the Utility units over time.
- Owning one copy of a costume will allow you to start elevating it with the monthly selector.
- BVMorpeah can be replaced with another unit of choice once have obtained her. Descendant Celia (5-hit) is also a costumes you can return to later and leave at +0 to pursue greater priorities.
- You'll want some copies of Summer Nebris (+3) & Gatekeeper Nebris to unleash New Hire Nebris' potential. NHNebris is the strongest DPS costume in the game, but she needs those other costumes to setup.
- Likewise, if you own L.H Loen you'll want to get Track and Field Loen next to buff her damage and let her cycle her skills without downtime.
Type | Recommended Costumes |
---|---|
Buffers | Adventurer Diana (+2/+5), Bride Refi (+0 for LN, +5 for FH/GR) > DS Liberta (+5), B-Helena (+5) > Onsen Liberta (+0 for LN), Medic Teresse (+4~5), Gluttonous Refi (+4~5), H-Lathel (+2~5), New Hire Seir |
Supporters/Amplifiers | Zenith (+3), Track Suit Levia (+4), Gamer Rafina (+4), Wind Dancer Venaka (+3), Descendant Celia (+3) >> Curse Celia (+3), Young Lady Blade (+5) |
Carry DPS/Nukers | Beach Eclipse, Sacred Justia, New Hire Nebris, LH Loen, Pool Party Angelica, DJ Venaka, Maid Lia, Luvencia > Wilhelmina (Single-target), Ventana (Single-target) |
Utility | Beach Vacation Morpeah (Tank/Battery/Reposition/DPS) > Anti Dystopia Diana, Top Idol Helena, Red Hat Rou |
[Limited] Special Infinite Draw
A paid version of the Infinite Reroll, featuring every (non-limited) unit released before the current patch. It is available 1-2x per year.
There is no limit on the amount of rerolls you can do, and you can even quit midway to continue rolling another day.
You can get multiple 5★ in one 10-pull, so with enough patience you can reroll for 3 good 5★ costumes for $17 - a true "Golden Hand" for new players and veterans alike.
Other FAQ
Q: Is there any content in BD2 that is unobtainable as a free player?
A : The 2.0anni introduced paid skins. These are purely cosmetic, and can be obtained through a gacha ($8~$58). Everything else is freely obtainable. Even as 100% F2P you can get one or more copies of every single released unit purely through your free pulls.
Q: Where do I get more GOLD?
Daily guild check-in (50.000), Olstein's daily dispatch ability, and Last Night.
You can also quickly sweep gold in previously cleared pack by walking into monsters while Teresse's Overpower field ability is active.
Q : Do I buy the Premium Pass (Battle Pass) for 1000 Dias?
A : Always. You can buy it with Free Dias, and it yields ~16 pulls profit on top of the rest.
TIP: Buy it once you reached LV17. That way you'll finish the pass in one go and skip the increased EXP requirements.
Q: What is the BEST VALUE if I want to spend or support the game?
A : 3-day MEGA package ($4.29) >> RENEW Special Dash Packages & Monthly Dia Packs (2>1)
The next best options are the Special Anni Packages/Relay Packages, the $26 premium pass, and the Story/Tower Clear Packages.
Everything else (Seasonal Packages etc, even the direct Paid Dia topups) can and should be ignored.
- Even if you don't plan on ever spending, it is highly recommended to get at least the MEGA $4.29 package (Available for 3days after start)
With its 100+ pulls, gear sets, and 15000 crystals of each type it's a value you won't see ever again.
If you want to swipe do it during (half) anni events or Black Friday sales. These have the best deals, so most players use these to stock up for the rest of the year. Value per pack reference
Q: What are good units?
A: Buffers/Supporters and Nukers (3x3+ AoE) are usually always save investments. Limiteds appear during the Anniversaries & Summer/Winter events (June~Aug and Dec~Jan). Collab limiteds are purely preference pulls, they offer no longevity in the meta.
Q: When are the Resets?
A: Daily reset is 00:00 UTC. On patch days the servers go down for maintenance 10mins before that (23:50 UTC)
Ranked content (Fiend Hunter, Guild Raids, PvP, Tower) closes earlier, at 15:00 UTC on patch day (or every Sunday in case of PvP).
Q: Can I buy an account?
A: If you really want a past collab unit you can. Just note that accounts that have illegally generated currency on them do get caught in sweeps and will have negative ticket/dia values on them after. Google also removes accounts they found to have violated their ToS. So if you do it, be smart about it.
Q: How many Pulls do I get per month?
A: A decently fresh F2P generates upwards of 200 free pulls per month, excluding the daily free banner pulls (+~112). If you include these you're looking at 300+ pulls a month, and 400~500+ during anniversary/collab months.
You also get 2 monthly UREX Tickets (PvP Shop,ToS), 3x 5★ Costumes (PvP Shop,ToS,Char.Pass) and 8 Tears (Event Shop,ToS,Guild).
Q: Where do I get more Refining Powders?
A : Bulk craft N Mercenary Swords/Armors, 1000 at a time. Set the upgrade to +6 for all. Don't tick the "auto-dismantle box"; you get an option to salvage all gears you just crafted in one go once the crafting ends. This will get you 9k powders for ~200k gold.
Q: What do I do with UREX/Gear Dupes?
A: Either keep 2 of each UREX if you want to whale and minmax rank chase in the future. If you do not (99% of the players), upgrade spare UREX/SREX/Crafted URI gears you don't need to +6/+7 and dismantle them.
Q: What Refinement Grade should I aim for?
A: Any Rank18 Refinement (BBS) on URIV gear is a good budget stopping point. From there you can aim for higher over time. The priority is always Venom Touch (used by everyone) > Weapons/Gloves (phys/magic specific).
Q: How can I get a higher Last Night score?
A: Give a full SRIII+ set to every unit you own and isn't among the 20 units you use. This is a great way to get lots of support bonus for cheap. Owning a copy of PWB Refi and Onsen Liberta will also really help. It is not advised to craft UR pieces solely for support bonus due to the high upgrade costs.
Q: Why is the game named "Brown Dust"?
A: Koreans love to use cool sounding English names and terms for their games.
The idea was that it refers to the dust that is kicked up by armies marching to battle, but it played out a bit different.
Q: I asked a question and now people are trying to lick me. Is this normal?
A:
