May 8th Update: Added a section for the Special Infinite Draw and important tip to Gearing
Click to jump to the relevant section. If you already figured the game out please at least read the Newglutti Tips and Other FAQ!
I saw an L2D of a girl getting whipped/stripped/etc. How do I get that?
Get 1 copy of that girl's costume and check the Glupy Diner pack once you unlock it - chances are she'll be there as "Fated Guest". Start dating her, set her interaction as your homescreen once you've unlocked it, and go wild. JP voiceovers will be added later.
Who do I take from the Infinite Reroll?
The Infinite Reroll at the start isn't really a big deal. Celia and Eleaneer are popular options, but you can choose any 5★ you like the looks of.
You get to recruit the girls you didn't chose (+a dupe for the girl you did choose) for free from the pub later anyway.
Celia (left) is a supporter for (endgame) PvE boss fights and raids. The main value in recruiting her now is that it lets you use her Field Skill (absorb all map finds) right away, which is a great QoL to have. Tip: Activate Lathel's Search first, that way she absorbs all hidden finds too.
Eleaneer is an 11/10 sexo alternative if you'd rather have an extra (Phys) DPS option or want all of that glorious boobage on your homescreen. She's also the only non-limited 2SP buff dispeller in the game (at +3), which makes her great in PvP later and can help you get some extra Dias every week.
For Equipment the value is Kry's UR Swords > Eleaneer's SR Bow (if you took her)/Wiggle's UR Bomb > Justia's SR Sword.
Don't waste hours on trying to get Celia + Kry's Swords or any such "perfect roll", it's all just minor stuff. Any of the above will help you.
How to "True Reroll"?
Play Story Pack 1 until you get your ~30 starter pulls, collect draw tickets from active events/codes, and pull on a banner you like.
✔️Got the rate-up girl or a double/triple 5★ hit in those starter pulls? KEEP (link account)
❌Didn't get the rate-up girl or any double/triple 5★ hits? Restart.
Only sorta worth it if you start during limited banners, rerun banners, or the banner of your wife.
Newglutti Tips
- UREX/gear banners are for users who want to compete in ranked content, or if the unit is (you)r wife.
UREX gear usually only offers a small dps increase (~10%) compared to your crafted URIVs (Free).
You'll also get some UREX pieces for free every month, and some UREXs (like Teresse/Celia/Olstein) are even downright awful.
Feel free to give UREX banners a shot if she's your wife/she's crazy good, but burning all your newglutti pulls on these is a good way to brick. - You get a daily free pull on every banner. Rather than +5ing a new unit on Day 1 you might want to wait and see what the free pulls give you first.
- Usually you'll want to use the monthly enhancer from the Gold Thread Shop to raise owned supports (eg +5 Diana/B-Helena, +3 Zenith, +4 TLevia/GRafina/WDVenaka) before you use them on DPS units.
- Tears of Goddess are RARE. Don't spend them on 3/4★ units that aren't Arines, Elpis or Student Samay (buffers), and likewise don't spend them on DPS increases for non-DPS units like Olstein or Celia.
- Join a GUILD after clearing SP3. Checking in daily gives you 50.000 gold, which is a huge deal for a new player. Other major sources of gold are Olstein's daily ability, Last Night, and Pack Gold Sweeping (Use Teresse's field ability and run into mobs in any areas you've already completed for gold, faster if you combine it with Liatriss' spring ability).
- Save Paid Dia for the newbie select banner (runs for 2 weeks after you start) or (.5) anniversary events - these come with special limited Paid Dia banners/packages.
How to Teambuild/Clear Content?
BD2 meta is all about Buffers (Critical Hits) and Gear. Pair your 2 strongest DPS with Elpis 4★ (if magic) or Arines 3★ (if physical), and make sure that your buffers go first in the skill order.
The other units in your party are flex. They exist to either reposition enemies (make your AoEs hit more mobs), to mop up leftovers, or to give extra buffs. Tanks are rarely used outside of PvP; if you do need a tank in some PvE battles Andrew (4★ taunt/dodge tank) will usually suffice since you can just restart the turn if a key dodge fails.
Your First Team
The game kickstarts you with Physical, so until you obtain better buffers and (AoE) DPS units your first team will likely look like this:
Arines buffs. Kry can damage or push (reposition) mobs as needed. Liatriss clears mob groups.
Wiggle can be replaced by Eleaneer or another 5★ of choice, so you have 2 flex slots.
Other great (and free) units you can slot into the flex slot include Olstein (3x3 AoE Silence, from SP5 Pub), Lucrezia (4★ Silencer/Battery) and Rou (5★ dodge tank/knockback killer, from SP5 Pub).
Q: Can I play Magic instead?
You can also go for a magic team with Elpis, but since the 3/4★ mages are terrible you'll need to obtain some actual, proper 5★ Magic DPS first. There is one in the pub (WDVenaka), but outside of that you'll have to pull on magic banners, get lucky with off-banner hits, or start the game during a time where good welfare mages (like Summer Dalvi) available.
Gearing
Start by having Fred/Layla craft a Blue (R) IV set for your main DPS. Upgrade the pieces to +9 and refine them a couple times so that they are no longer CCC grade or similar. Likewise, do your Slime Island dispatches and feed the slimes to your strongest DPS - your team doesn't need to be equal in level.
Q: Where do I get more crafting materials?
Open the boxes you get from completing the daily missions, and sweep up the "finds" on maps, especially the ones in SP7, 8 , 9 and 17. TIP: Use Lathel Search into Liberta or Celia absorb to instantly succ up both the hidden and regular daily finds.
You can also dispatch to resource stages on days where Slime Island doesn't have a 2x Rate-up bonus active.
The next major upgrade will be UR Gear. Craft (and dismantle) N-grade Merc Swords/Armors/Circlets to quickly level up your crafter. Don't forget to upgrade Fred's/Layla's skill with a skillbook every time the crafting XP bar is full. The Ability Pills you need come from the event shop or the shops in packs (45g/ea if you complete a daily quest in that pack first before buying). Gold comes from Olstein, Last Night, selling cooking materials and being in a guild, but if you need more you can also quickly "sweep" the mobs in every cleared pack with Teresse's Overpower ability + optionally Liatriss' Dash.
Once you've unlocked UR Crafting the priority is Venomous Touch > Weapon/Gloves > double DEF/MRES Armor/Helmets (as needed to survive).
Below are the most commonly crafted pieces; the others are situational (for specific characters or PvP):
TIP: Try to get full CDMG rolls on your first few Venomous Touch and double DEF/MRES Armor/Helmets!.
This allows them to be used by any DPS, melee and mages alike, which will really help you in for example Fiend Hunt. If a boss is physical, your mages can equip full CDMG DEF gears to survive and still do their damage!
You may also acquire some good UR gear pieces from the Event Shops or through other means:
- Use the code WAITING4LEGEND on the BD2 Code Redemption Portal for a Free URIII Venomous Touch.
- (Contract Wars Pack): Exit the office using the left door and explore to find a helpful surprise.
Potential/Bond Priorities
Cooldown & SP reductions, Skill Range increases, and buff/vulnerability+ nodes take priority over raw DPS increases.
Start with owned buffers, followed by nodes for owned good DPS units (S.Justia, BV Eclipse, B.Loen, Venaka/Nebris etc).
- Skill Range+: Diana, PWB Refi, MCTeresse etc (Buffers) / B.Loen, S.Justia, MLia etc (Good DPS)
- -Skill Cooldown Time: Aotu.Diana, Curse Celia, OLSeir (Buffers) / DJVenaka, MLia, PPAngelica etc (Good DPS)
- Buff Value+: B-Helena, Diana, H-Lathel, Teresse, OLSeir etc
- Vulnerability+: TFLevia, GRafina, WDVenaka etc
- -SP Cost: B-Helena, Zenith etc > DPS
Q: What Costume Bonds do I use?
Bond Elemental Damage+ costumes on DPS in content where they are of a stronger element (Fiend Hunts/GR, Tower, VH Packs).
In general PvE or other situations you use +ATK/CDMG bond costumes. +Crit Rate costumes are for PvP.
For more tips and guidance through the game check out the /bd2g/ Progression Checklist.
Units, Banners & Pulling
BD2 has costume and gear banners, both with their own pity counts. You can't get gear from costume banners and vice versa.
You get a free daily pull on every banner, and get 10 pulls cashback the first 5 times you pull the rate-up costume (not gear).
Pity is 10 pulls for a random 4★ (or better) and 100 pulls for a 5★ (50/50 between banner target or random 5★).
You also get a Draw Point every time you pull on a banner. 200 Draw Points exchange to the banner target.
Unused draw points are collected at the end of a banner and converted into a currency ("Powders") that can be exchange for costumes in the Powder (mileage) Shop. You can also manually exchange draw points -> powders before then.
Q: Do I PULL or SAVE?
Pull (in moderation), and PULL during (.5) Anniversary Limited banners. If you see a banner that you like, go for it.
May~June (Collab into anniversary) and December~January (.5 anni) are the most stacked months in the game. The game has lots of events around that time, but if you really want play it safe start saving up at least a month in advance.
What banners do I pull on?
Banners for units you like most, since that is what gacha games are about.
Meta-wise: Team Buffers, AoE (3x3+) Nukers & Chainers and Limited units are usually always safe investments.
The game showers you with free monthly pulls so it isn't hard to get at least one copy of every released unit. This gives you access to her skill, bio, Glupy Interaction/Dating content (if any) and L2D+Cutscene.
As a dupe reliant game, most units become 'usable' in PvE at +1 (SP reduction), but you'll typically want to push good buffers and DPS to +4 or +5.
Your ultimate goal is to build your roster, ie. have a variety of buffers + at least 2 DPS options per element (1 physical and 1 magical) so that you have options for every Fiend Hunt.
Pulling Strategy & Limiteds
Since you get a free daily pull on every banner, a popular strategy is to stop at +3 and see what the free pulls give you first. On the final day of a banner you can then push her to +4 and finish the costume (+5) with the copy that will be available in the Powder Shop afterwards. For LIMITED units you'll need to push to the desired dupe level during her banner.
- The game's strongest, often meta-defining units are the SUMMER & WINTER Limiteds, which go live in tandem with the game's (half) anniversary events in June/August & December. Aside from new limiteds, limiteds from previous years and core buffers are rerun during this time as well.
Limited units cannot be obtained or elevated outside of their banners in any way. - Collab events feature 'true' limited units. The developers have however begun to release permanent units with equal performance to take away from the fomo aspect, so any collab units that appear in 2025 and beyond are preference pulls/for fresh newgluttis.
Some pre-2025 collab units (Cat Eris, Hikage, Yumi) have an unusually strong combat performance; the developers said they will try to rerun these. - Core buffers (Diana, B-Helena, HLathel etc) are rerun at 3 to 5 month intervals and at anniversary events (June/Dec~Jan).
- 5★ base (Main Story) version costumes, like Archbishop Michaela, NoJLevia and WDVenaka, get added to the pub with their release. Recruiting these costume from the pub within 2 weeks after their launch (with a 5★ Recruitment Contract) gives you a copy of that costume + 10 free Draw Tickets.
SHOPS: What do I buy?
Event Shops
The UR piece is great for newer accounts, as its guaranteed SSS rolls puts it on par with a URIII+ piece.
Especially Weapons, Gloves or Double Crit.DMG accessories will be massive boons to your account.
When buying an UR, be sure to buy it together with the 27 tokens needed to +9 it in one purchase (=5700 event currency).
If you came in too late to get everything (or if the UR is shit) focus on the Tears and Ancient Crystals first.
Regular Priority:
- 3x Tears of Goddess → Ancient Crystals → Draw Tickets
- Newglutti growth materials as needed (4★ Rank-Up Stars, Red Slimes, Gold)
- Essences/Refining Crystals
- Ability Pills
- Dump the rest into Refining Powders until the event ends. You'll thank me later.
200 Event Currency = 3k pills = 10K Refining Powder from crafting 3k Ns vs 600 Powder when buying directly
Powder Shop (aka Mileage)
This is where you can get 1 copy of any recently finished non-limited banner unit. The other units are selected to be useful in the upcoming Fiend Hunt.
Most players stop pulling on a non-limited (!) unit once it is +4 since the final copy doesn't give any cashback tickets. They then +5 her with this powder shop copy after that banner has ended.
- Buy whichever COSTUME(s) you like or are good. Prioritize buffers. When in doubt ask in /bd2g/.
Gold Thread Shop
- Monthly Selective Enhancement (1600).
Typically used to elevate owned supports or buffers (+5Diana/B-Helena, +3Zenith, +4GRafina/TFLevia) - The random costume (1600) may sometimes also be worth it, or be worth it even more than the selector in some cases. Ask in /bd2g/ if not sure.
- Start saving for next month's selector.
For spenders:
- The Property Draw Ticket (1200) is good if you're still missing certain supports/buffers.
Value is WIND (Diana,Zenith,Venaka) > LIGHT (Refi,Helena,Bustia) = DARK (OLSeir,Celia+dupes) >> the rest. - Tears are never a bad option.
Guild Shop
- Tear → Elixers → Draw Tickets.
- Essences
- Scrolls (if needed)
- Refining Powders or save for next month's items.
Mirror War (PvP Shop)
- Monthly Costume (18000) → Monthly UR Ticket (6000).
- Leftovers can go into Refining Crystals or be saved for next month's costume/ticket.
You can easily afford both the costume and the ticket if you bulk queue your daily 40 PvP matches (set consumption to "10" and queue 4 games).
Tip: PVP rank is determined in the final 40minutes of the season on every Sunday (14:20-15:00 UTC)
Swap to your proper Defense team (with their gears equipped) before that time to gain some extra Diamonds from ranking.
Evil Castle Shop
- 4★ Ability Books as needed, this is the only place in the game to get them.
- Monthly Essences & Scrolls.
- 4★ Rank-up stars and 3★ Contracts are given out a lot via Events and the Newbie Pass, but the option is there if you're in a hurry for just a couple more.
Pub Recruitment Priority
You can recruit a pool of 3-5★ costumes in-game via the Pub system (Recruitment Contracts). The Newbie Pass gives you a lot of them, but outside of that they are a rare resource.
Most people trade their 3★ and 4★ Contracts into 5★ ones (Shop>Items) since you'll automatically max out your 3★ and 4★ units from pulling on banners. If there's specific units that you really want you can always choose to clear out at least the 3★ characters to increase the chance of the desired 5★ appearing. Clearing out the 4★ as well offers less value.
Q : Which Pub 5★ do I recruit first?
Some units are fixed (will always be in the pub of that Story Pack after you clear it, until you recruit them). Others are chance encounters. Each unit can only be recruited once.
The game cycles through all remaining Chance% pub recruits, and these guests change every 2h.
- Diana (SP10 pub)
- Liatris (Physical, SP8 pub) / Venaka (Magic, Chance %)
-Your first 3x3 AoE carry. Lower priority if you already got a 3x3 AoE unit, be it from pulls or from a collab/anni event welfare unit (eg Summer Dalvi) - Olstein (SP4 pub)
-Major gold generator for newgluttis via daily dispatch ability. Also offers good survival in PvE with his 3x3 Silence. - Celia (Chance %)
-Lower priority if you took her from the Infinite Reroll.
Other good recruits are Refi (skip pull+glutti absorb,Chance %), Rou (SP4 dodge tank/formation breaker) and Dark Saintess Liberta (SP14 Celia absorb+Buffer). Blade (SP15) can cheese Story/Tower and pack content, but will need good defensive gears and support (ADDiana/RRH Rou) to do so. The rest is whoever you like.
Since you get to recruit a copy of every Infinite Roll unit (minus members of the main cast, ie Justia/Gray/Lathel/Schera) from the pub, you'll also get a free dupe for the girl you chose at the start of the game.
- Try to keep a spare 5★ Contract on you after recruiting Diana. That way if a new Story 5★ drops you can recruit her from the new pack & get 10 Draw Tickets during her banner.
The Select Draw
The regular Select Draw (available all the time) is pretty bad, and is NOT recommended. The 6 costumes you slot into it only get a rate-up (not guaranteed), and there are no cashback tickets. However, the developers will be releasing a reworked version with the 2.0 anniversary in June. This one will feature 12 costume slots, and any obtained 5★ will be one of those 12 costumes guaranteed. This makes it a pretty good option.
The Newbie Select Draw (available for 2 weeks after account creation) is pretty solid, as it gives one of three selected character guaranteed.
Special Infinite Draw
This is basically a paid version of the Infinite Reroll, which is available only 1-2 times per year during special events.
The pool contains every (non-limited) unit released before the current patch, and there is no limit on the amount of rerolls you can do. You can even quit and continue rolling on another day if you like, until you see a roll that makes you want to press the button.
You can roll multiple 5★ in a 10pull, which means that with some patience you can roll until you get 3 good 5★ costumes for $17 - a true "Golden Hand" for new and veteran players alike.
Recommendations
If you're new, try to get 2 buffers and at least 1 Carry DPS/Nuker. Anything more is bonus or who you want.
Getting one copy of the costumes below will allow you to start elevating it with the monthly selector. However, the best way to elevate a unit will always be through its rerun banner+the powder shop after.
- Once you've obtained at least one copy of Bride Refi and Summer Morpeah you can replace them with other units of choice.
Type | Recommended Costumes |
---|---|
Buffers | Adventurer Diana (extra dupes)/Bride Refi (+0 for LN) > Onsen Liberta (+0 for LN), B-Helena, Dark Saintess Liberta (extra dupes) > Medic Teresse, Gluttonous Refi, H-Lathel, New Hire Seir |
Supporters/Amplifiers | Zenith, Track Suit Levia, Wind Dancer Venaka (extra dupes), Gamer Rafina/Young Lady Blade, Descendant Celia, Curse Celia (extra dupes) |
Carry DPS/Nukers | Summer Eclipse (Magic), Sacred Justia (Phys), Pool Party Angelica, New Hire Nebris (Phys), Luvencia (Type 3>Wild Dog), DJ Venaka (M), Maid Lia (PH), LH Loen (M). Summer Nebris + Gatekeeper Nebris if you chose and obtained New Hire Nebris. Track and Field Loen if you chose and obtained LN Loen. |
Utility | Summer Morpeah (Tank/Battery/Reposition/DPS) >>> Anti-Dystopia Diana, Top Idol Helena, Red Hat Rou |
Other FAQ
Q: Is there any content in BD2 that is unobtainable as a free player?
A : No. A F2P has access to the exact same costumes and content as a spender. There is no $$ walled content here, even the interactable L2Ds are completely free.
Q : Do I buy the Premium Pass (Battle Pass) for 1000 Dia?
A : Always. You can buy it with your FREE Dias, and always yields 16 pulls profit.
Try to wait with buying it until you reached LV17, that way you'll finish the pass in one go and skip the increased EXP reqs for lv17-20.
Q: What is the BEST VALUE if I want to spend?
A : Anniversary Event Packages > Monthly Dia Packages (1&2) > Relay Packages/Story Clear Packages >> the rest.
If you want to swipe, do it on the (half) anniversary packages. Most players use these to stock up for the rest of the year. Check here for the exact values per pack
Q: What are good units?
A: Buffers, Nukers (3x3+ AoE), Chainers and Limited units are usually always save investments. Limiteds appear during the Anniversary events (June/December) and during collab events.
Q: When are the Resets?
A: Daily reset is 00:00 UTC. On patch days the maintenance starts 10mins prior (23:50 UTC)
Seasonal events end at 15:00 UTC: PvP at that time every Sunday, Fiend Hunt/Towers at that time on maintenance/patch day.
Q: Can I buy an account?
A: Up to you. The devs are aware that some people do it (mainly those who really want past collab units), and while they encourage people to make new accounts they don't actively crack down on bought accounts. However, if it is an account that has illegally generated currency on it chances are you'll be looking at negative draw ticket and Diamond values after a sweep. Google may also decide to remove that account (and thus its access to the game) if it finds it has violated the ToS in any way. If a deal seems too good to be true it probably is.
Q: How many Pulls do I get per month?
A: A decently fresh F2P generates upwards of 200 free pulls per month, excluding the daily free banner pulls (+~112). If you include these you're looking at well over 300 pulls a month, and even more (400~500+) during anniversary/collab events.
You also get 2 monthly UREX Gear Tickets (PvP Shop,ToS), 3x 5★ Costumes (PvP Shop,ToS,Char.Pass) and 8 Tears (Event Shop,ToS,Guild).
Q: Where do I get more Refining Powders?
A : Bulk craft N Mercenary Swords/Armors, 1000 at a time. Set the upgrade to +6 or +7. Don't tick the "auto-dismantle box"; you get an option to salvage all gears you just crafted in one go once the crafting ends. This will get you ~10k powders for ~290k gold + 3000 Ability Pills.
N Mercenary Circlets are an option too, but these take 2000 more Ability Pills (5000 per 1000).
Upgrade duplicate UREX, SREX and crafted UR gears you don't need to +7 before you dismantle them. You can hold onto them until you have the gold to do so.
Q: What Refinement Grade should I aim for?
A: Any Rank18 Refinement (BBS) on URIV gear is a good budget stopping point. From there you can aim for higher over time. Unless you care for PvP (in which case you push armor/helm beyond R18), the priority is always Venom Touch > Weapons/Gloves.
Q: How can I get a higher Last Night score?
A: Give a full SRIII+ set to every unit you own and isn't among the 20 units you use. This is a great way to get lots of support bonus for cheap.
Q: Why is the game named "Brown Dust"?
A: Koreans love to use cool sounding English names and terms for their games.
The idea was that it refers to the dust that is kicked up by armies marching to battle, but it played out a bit different.
Q: I asked a question and now people are trying to lick me. Is this normal?
A:
