/bd2g/ 2.5 Anniversary Mini-FAQ
I'm a Newglutti. What do?
Follow the tutorial and clear SP1 of the Main Story (I recommend clearing a bit further) to get a feel of the game and unlock the Event Packs.
Meltdown Bunnies and the other Event/Character Packs are played with preset teams and gear on Normal difficulty. They are just puzzles, anyone can clear them. Meltdown Bunnies is time-limited so clear that first.
If you care for narrative consistency the order for the other event packs is:
[Winter Packs]: Nightmare Winter > Fireworks Memories (Season Event, available from the Homescreen under "Story") > Memory's Edge
[Summer Packs]: Summer Knight > Beachside Angels > Beauty on Duty (Season Event, available from the Homescreen under "Story")
Besides clearing event/character packs you liked the looks of on Normal difficulty you should be doing the following:
- Progress the Main Story. Aim to clear at least up to SP10 (Homunculus) to obtain your free Diana and some other relevant units.
- Complete the Event Missions (Homescreen>Events) for your free +5 S.Dalvi and Bride Eclipse, both great units to have as a new player.
- Start building your roster. Pulling on currently available banner units (LIMITED units usually take priority), and start crafting gear. Buffers & Gear dominate this game.
- Once you have a solid basic team setup, you can clear the Event Packs on Hard/Very Hard difficulty for an extra +20 pulls per pack. Despite the name this is actually very easy, only the Character Packs are actually hard on higher difficulties.
- Use your purple tickets on the 1-pick SELECT DRAW to+4 goth dress Liberta (you get 1 copy from story later to finish her), and +5 Bride Refi for endgame meta. Liberta's other costume will rerun in January.
Between doing this you can unwind with social content like fishing or hanging out in the square, playing the minigames, or romancing girls "Fated Guests" who show up in the Glupy Diner.
For more tips and suggestions for the 12pick select draw check out our Progression Checklist and FAQ.
What are good banners/units?
The girls you like the most, since that is what gacha games are about. Meta-wise buffers and Limited (Special) Units take priority.
TIP: Some banners run a whole month, and you get a free daily pull on every one of them. So rather than trying to +5 her on Day 1 you can opt to wait a bit and see what the free daily pulls give you first.
Where to get more pulls?
- Participate in the in-game anniversary events.
- Clear out all Event packs on all 3 difficulties (=30 pulls per event pack).
- Completely all Character Packs on [Normal] difficulty (=10 pulls each).
- Start clearing out the Towers: Desire/Wrath/Envy (Evil Castle).
- Swipe. Anni events have by far the best package deals of the year. If you enjoy the game and want to spend, this is the time to do it.
ANNIVERSARY PACKAGES: What is Best Value?
tl;dr Anything with "MEGA" or "DASH" in the name good, rest mid. Skip the step-up banners and direct Paid Dia topups
If you don't have a JP Google payment profile you can use BD2's webshop (set region to JP, read below) if you want the prestige skin or want buy some bigger packages). Use the special -20% coupon on the biggest thing you want.
About the Webshop
BD2 Webshop: https://webshop.browndust2.global/en-US
- Small purchases ($4.29 MEGA Package, Monthly Dia Login Packs) can not be purchased from the webshop; you need to use the in-game store (Google Play) for those. The webshop specializes in larger purchases and the Prestige Skin tickets.
- You can use the "change region 1x" option they give you to set your webshop region to JP/Japanese Yen. You can still pay with Paypal and everything, but it is way cheaper than USD and EUR (using JP Yen means you pay 45$ max for a prestige skin instead of 60$).
- NOTE that if you do use the above JP/Yen method you will need to use a VPN set to Japan (Tunnelbear, Mudfish) and refresh the webshop to complete your purchase.
- You get free in-game rewards for just logging into the webshop daily, see the Events tab on that page (do it 7 days total)
- [Limited] 3-day MEGA package ($4.29)
Can only be purchased from the in-game Premium Shop (Google Play)
Get at least this even if you're 100% F2P and never plan to spend. 100+ pulls, two endgame gear sets and 6 months worth of material farming for 5 bucks, you'll never see a deal this value in BD2 or any other gacha game ever again. Once the 3days are up it'll be gone forever (no reruns). - MEGA! 2.5th Anniversary Login Pass
Can only be purchased from the in-game Premium Shop (Google Play)
35 pulls and 330k powders (most precious endgame material) for likewise $4.29 when the standard value is $1=1 pull. Need I say more? - RENEW Special Dash Packages.
These got overhauled and offer actually great value now. You also get a lot of bonus select draw tickets.
Permanently available, so you can get them whenever you like. They have most value around anni events, as the Select Draw tickets can be used on the 1pick select draw that is active during this time. - Monthly Dia Login Packs (2>1).
Can only be purchased from the in-game Premium Shop (Google Play)
You can never go wrong with these. You can stack up to 2 months in advance. - MEGA! Veteran Special Dash Package
A limited time version of the above. Compared to the permanent Dash packages these trade in the Select Draw Tickets, Potential Crystals, Elixirs and the Gold for Refining Crystals, ACs and Powders. I don't think the trade off is very fair in terms of value, so I put it lower. But most people just buy these for the Tears anyway, so for that it is still good value.
Can only be purchased from the in-game Premium Shop (Google Play)

2025 Winter Units Overview
Male Banners
The developers are also running 7-Day male banners throughout the winter event period. Outside of DKLathel (at least +1 for PvE survival and PvP) these are skips; they are run purely so that users can turn their offbanner male spooks into free pull tickets.

(LIMITED RERUN) B.Eclipse | Finished | Rerun: 1x/ year
Role: DPS/Utility (Limited) | Priority: Preference | Target: +0 or +3~5
Main Uses: PvP, General PvE, ToS
The legendary costume that marked the turning point of the game during its 0.5th anniversary. BEclipse has a solid kit, offering good damage (after +3) with a great pattern (full skip +), SP refill (great if you don't have many unit dupes yet) and MRES Shred (PvP). 2 years after her release B.Eclipse's damage no longer holds up in endgame PvE, but it remains a solid costume for newgluttis in general PvE content and especially PvP.
Obtain at least 1 copy for her Limited Fated Guest interaction and to complete her skill rotation, or max her out if you like her (and can afford to!)

(LIMITED RERUN) B.Celia | Finished | Rerun: 1x/ year
Role: Support-Chainer (Limited) | Priority: Highest | Target: +1 or +4 (extra turn of double chains)
Main Uses: Endgame PvE (FH/GR)
The #1 priority. B.Celia is a self-buffer that doubles the amount of chains she deals with her other two costumes, greatly boosting the damage dealt by your other DPS units that turn. This has made her a key costume for endgame PvE for much of the game's history.
Her role has diminished a bit in recent months, but even so a +4 B.Celia is core for all your future endgame PvE endeavors.

(LIMITED RERUN) B.Loen | Until January 14th | Rerun: 1x/ year
Role: Nuker (Limited) | Priority: High (if newglutti, otherwise Preference) | Target: +5
Main Uses: PvE Pack & Tower Clearing
B.Loen is a once per fight (2x per Guild Raid) giganuke, one of the strongest in the game. The cooldown and SP cost are high, but her damage scales with the # of targets hit so in BD2's oneshot meta she will just delete grids and hypercarry >80% of the game for you. This makes her a great value pull for newgluttis, especially since one of her BiS buffers (B-Helena) is a free +5 via the Newbie Pass.
B.Loen however has fallen off for endgame due to powercreep, and has not seen use since the introducion of the Lia+Rubia combo. If you still want to use her in FH/GR you will need to obtain her other 2 costumes. One of them is obtainable through the Newbie Pass.
As with B.Eclipse, obtain at least 1 copy for her Limited Fated Guest interaction.

(LIMITED) B.Darian | Until January 14th | Rerun: 1x/ year
Role: Ramping DPS (Limited) | Priority: Mid~High | Target: +5
Main Uses: Endgame PvE (FHs/GR)
Darian is a FH/GR specialized character for her element (Water). This costume applies a stacking DoT, with the DoT also boosting the main hits damage. The skill cooldown (15T) gets reduced by 2 for every target hit, so by hitting 7 tiles she can spam this costume off cooldown. Her pattern is large to help her hit as many tiles as possible, and so she can reach astronomical levels of damage - if the conditions align.
What does not change is the steep 6SP cost (per turn), and that this costume only reaches its full potential in sufficiently long raids. She will be incredibly good in such content, but is reliant on help from the boss (good SP per turn recovery, good tile/weak spot spread, enough turns) to reach her full potential, which makes her more niche. Still, her damage and Limited status make her a high priority if you still need a solid Water DPS.

(Rerun) RHZenith | Until January 14th | Permanent unit
Role: Support-Chainer/Amplifier/Mark | Priority: High | Target: +3~5
Main Uses: Endgame PvE (FH/GR) & Single-target scenarios, PvP
Zenith is a core chainer/amplifier for any scenario where you need to focus on a single tile or mob (boss battles, FH/GRs, Lv5 Guild Battles). She pairs exceptionally well with Ventana and is quite tanky with a large HP pool, which also makes her a popular PvP unit. This rerun banner is a good chance to get her to at least +3 (ideally +5), but keep in mind that she is a permanent unit.
NOTE: You will need to own at least one copy of this costume if you plan on getting her Prestige Skin.

(New) B.Eleaneer | Finished | Permanent unit
Role: Support-Buffer/Amplifier | Priority: Mid | Target: +1~+4
Main Uses: All PvE
Eleaneer is an S-tier PvP unit, but her relevance in (endgame) PvE has been minimal. This costume seeks to mend that, giving herself a 10T 100% ATK buff (60% (M)ATK for others) and 50% vulnerability on all enemies. This allows her to function as solid DPS for Light FH/GRs, but also (and more importantly) as a setup buffer for the next team in line. Her skill is a domain, meaning it can't be dispelled and persists even after she dies or you change teams.
(New) B.Tyr | Until January 14th | Permanent unit
Role: Nuker | Priority: Low | Target: +2~+4
Uses: Endgame PvE (FH/GR)
Starlight Tyr is one of the strongest DPS in the game, delivering insane damage over a massive area with the only caveat being that subsequent skill casts cost +2SP. Her new bunny costume was introduced as a FH/GR specialized costume, delivering an even stronger attack over a smaller area, but was nerfed upon its release. In its current state (with the increased cooldown) Bunny Tyr is a filler costume for when her main costume (Starlight Guardian) is on cooldown, making it a low priority even for users who already own Tyr's other costume.

(Rerun) OHLevia | Finished | Permanently available
Role: DPS | Priority: Low | Target: +1~+5
Uses: PvE
OHLevia is a budget Fire DPS option for users who don't have (or want to go for) a fully invested 3-costume Loen. It deals solid damage over a 3x3 Skip AoE and great damage if the targets have vulnerability on them. This damage vs. targets in vulnerability just got buffed, and with some units like Priestess or Bunny Eleaneer she can spam this skill every turn. This makes her a viable alternative to Loen if you have one of those other two units & your goal is just to clear LV10 in FHs.
For users who do have Loen however OHLevia, even after her buffs, remains a filler/finisher costume used last on the turn after she used her Track Suit costume. Keep in mind this is a permanent costume and Levia is an older unit who is prone to powercreep.
(Rerun) SWVentana | Until Jan 21st | Permanently available
Role: DPS | Priority: Low/Skip | Target: +3~+5
Uses: Endgame PvE (FH/GR)
The last of the winter lineup, Ventana is an exceptional single-target DPS but this is her least important costume. The 4 tiles pattern doesn't sync well with her single-target Light debuff from Onsen, and the damage doesn't hold up compared to Idol. This is a niche skill within an already niche unit, and is only recommended for rank chasers so they can complete her skill rotation.
I'm a Returnglutti. What did I miss?
Aside from several new story packs, fated guests and lots of amazing QoL:
- [2.5/Dec '25] Fantasia Square: You can hangout/interact/chat with other players in an online town with your own dress-up chibi avatar. This hub is also the hub for the game's new lifestyle content.
- [2.5/Dec '25] Fishing: The first new lifestyle content. Fish in various fully 3d rendered areas, upgrade your boat/fishing rods, and view your catches in your aquarium. Once you have cleared the early fishing game you can farm coins for monthly gold/powders.
- [2.5/Dec '25] Golden Colosseum: A new equalized gear PvP mode with changing rules every 2 weeks. You build a team and use artifacts/cards (like in ToS), making it more of a MW x ToS hybrid. It's pretty casual, 10 wins per week ensure you can get all rewards.
- [2.0/June '25] New and returngluttis are no longer walled by Diana/B-Helena reruns. These are now permanently available for free, at +5, via the reworked newbie pass (special tickets). Welfare units can now also be obtained any time, and you are also able to borrow/rent a character to assist you 3x per day per game mode if you are stuck on something.
- [2.0/June '25] Prestige Skins (Cosmetic costumes, real $$ only) now exist for users who want the true R17.9 experience. They cost anywhere from $8 to max. $60 (or $45 if you use Japanese Yen as currency), and are released 4x per year (2 summer/2 winter).
- [1.5/Dec '24] Glupy Diner & Fated Guests: (You) now exist ingame and are able to romance various costumes via the Glupy Diner, your own restaurant SIM. The main reward is a live interaction L2D of that girl, as well as various CGs. NHNebris (Newbie Pass) and Bunny Morpeah (Event Missions) are your starter wives.
- [1.5/Dec '24] Minigames are a thing now, and can be accessed through the Arcade. Some like Pandora Escape are very elaborate, and are like standalone games within the game.
- [1.0/June '24] Guilds now exist, as do monthly Guild Raids - giant Fiend battles with 7 units on a 5x5 grid. Join a guild for daily gold, and participate in the monthly Guild Raids for Draw Tickets, Elixirs, and more.
- [1.0/June '24] The Tower of Salvation opens: A Roguelike, equalized gear Tower mode with ever-changing enemy layouts and strategies. The existing towers were also updated with new floors and rewards (shops).
QoL/Others
- Finds are weekly instead of daily, reduced gear swapping fatigue (gear snapshot function for PvP+Last Night, presets), instant bulk craft/upgrade/dismantle, able to start FH at LV10 and get all preceding level rewards. ToS no longer drops levels between seasons (+wildcard 5th slot so guaranteed crit% buffer at the start), ToP is play once & get daily ACs based on your score like in LN. The game is a lot smoother to play now.
- MyRoom has been overhauled and turned into max. 9 linked rooms, allowing you to decorate house rather than a dorm.
- Additional systems to improve a character's strength: Engravings (skill changes/char bonus stats) and Awakening (more stats).
- Able to decorate your MyCard/Profile Page with Stickers.
