Routine

"He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being human." - Samuel Johnson.

First of all, I recommend going through these articles and taking notes:

Secondly, I recommend to sleep outside / at a friend / in a different room or to move your PC in a different room. Don't sleep with the PC, Avoid this:

It's like an alcoholic were to sleep with a bottle. Distance yourself from it. Before you sleep, it's better to read or meditate for 1 hour (or more) and maybe do breathing exercises (pranayama).
Just buy some books / borrow them from your local library or grandparents, or read some from here ; You don't need technology before sleep. You will get perfect early sleep and it will benefit your entire life.

A new routine is needed. Routine is the basis. Make one after you read this post! There is no point to block porn and then to want to watch it, because you will.
The only way to change is to become a non-user now. Who are you? Choose, say it, feel it.

"And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins. - Mark 2:22"

The wineskin is who you are.

That old saying "Idle hands are the devil's workshop" is true. Hence a strong routine is paramount to recovery.

To be able to work upon ourselves , it is indispensable that we work upon our daily life today.
Let us start by behaving consciously during a small part of the day. We need to stop being simple machines for at least a few brief minutes daily, and this will decisively influence our existence. - Samael Aun Weor.

Example of a simple daily routine for Christians:

wake up early.
stretch, coffee, cold shower.
burn incense, psalm 50         ->      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJ8ufoy4ulw&list=RDpJ8ufoy4ulw&start_radio=1
30m pranayama, 30m Workout.
8h work (or study if you're a student)
1h meditation
Cook/Clean/Care of Garden/Animals
leisure time
long walk.
burn incense, Our Father prayer, sleep early.

Recommanded tasks to add:

  1. Meditate!!!
  2. Absorb Sunlight , there are like 30 benefits to it, including the death of depression, & meditate/do pranayama and touch the ground with bare feet while you're at it.
  3. You could try to water fast for 2-3-more days . This will temporarily sedate the inner beast and you'd be able to work on it (Mat 17:21).
  4. Do Ham-sa Pranayama 15 min in the morning, and 15m during evening. as explained here.
  5. Also try this prayer, daily, with faith. , or any other prayer, and put faith in it. It scales with faith & attention. Don't think at impurities while you're summoning Divinity to assist you.
  6. Burn incense, like sage, while you pray for divinity to destroy the black energy/thoughts in you.
  7. Salt water treatment, should be done with a mantra or psalm 50, see if you yawn . Can be done twice per day , 3-5 hours apart.
  8. Exercise 4-5 days/week up to 1 hour.
  9. Heal your mind!!
  10. Heal Emotional and Spiritual Pain with the Natural Medicine of the Rose.
  11. Meditate!!!
  12. Take long walks while saying a mantra or listening to an audiobook/podcast/etc. You can enjoy the sunset/sunrise daily, which is beautiful in itself.

You can use a task managing app like Lifeup, taskito, TickTick etc.

"Rely not on the teacher/person, but on the teaching.
Rely not on the words of the teaching, but on the spirit of the words.
Rely not on theory, but on experience.
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
Do not believe anything because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything because it is written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and the benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."
-Buddha, Kalama Sutra```

When do I quit pornography?

When You acquire control over impulses and then total abstinence comes after you comprehend that it is poison for your soul, hence why it's not needed.
Comprehension, that comes from deep meditation and prayer, not mere understanding, as in only reading it somewhere. Comprehension is on a much deeper level and is of the soul.
It is overcame by comprehension, it's why I linked 2 meditation courses at 2 different steps, to underline its importance.

You can apply the AVRT as well from Jack Trimpey:

You should still stick with a good routine, the 'beast' or inner demon will fight back obviously , and the aforementioned tasks will help a lot.

  1. Imagine how you would feel if you knew for a fact that that you’ll never drink/use again, that your addiction is already ended, and you’re free at last.
  2. Notice your mixed feelings, (a) freedom and hope for a better life, and (b) a sinking feeling related to total, lifetime abstinence.
  3. That sinking feeling is your Beast. The sense of liberation and relief is you.
  4. Your Beast talks in your thoughts. Your Beast is your wild appetite for the high-life, the desire to get high.
  5. You can hear your Beast sowing seeds of self-doubt that you can decide to never drink/use again and stick with it forever. That is your Addictive Voice.
  6. Your Addictive Voice (AV) is any thinking that supports or suggests the possible future use of alcohol or other drugs. Your AV is the sole cause of your addiction. Your Beast speaks
with awesome authority, but it is a mere desire, utterly powerless, a dependent quadriplegic unable to wiggle your fingers.
  7. Your Beast (a) organizes your thoughts, emotions, and perceptions to support your addiction forever, (b) develops plans for continued drinking/using, and (c) predicts a gloomy life
without the option to get high.
  8. Your Beast has only one fear, deprivation of its favorite fix. It fears only one word, “never,” as in, “Never say never.” Therefore, that is exactly what to say: “I will never drink/use again!”
    — the Big Plan of AVRT-based recovery. Go ahead. Say it, and mean it.
  9. The more you mean it, the stronger you’ll feel your Beast’s emotional recoil. The more pain for your Beast, the better for you. Say it again, and believe in yourself: I will never drink/use
    again. No pain; no gain.
  10. Feel the joy of victory! That is the Abstinence Commitment Effect (ACE). Feel your Beast’s agony of defeat, the sinking, angry feelings. Shift back and forth between your joy and its
agony. As you practice this, you’ll draw the fact of full recovery into the present moment.
  11. You’re fully recovered at the moment you say you are. Others will catch on in due time.
  12. Recovery now may seem premature, impossible, too simple, or too easy. Or it may seem impossible to guarantee anything because the future is necessarily unknown. Or, you may
believe recovery doctrines about addictive disease, powerlessness, and one-day-at-a-time sobriety. If any of these seem so, go to #6, above.
  13. Welcome your Beast into your life as a sign of health, and not disease. Welcome your Addictive Voice as a sign that you know right from wrong. In other words, to your Beast, anything
that feels as good as its favorite fix cannot be wrong. To you, nothing could be more wrong than drinking/using, in the larger, moral sense of the word.
  14. Now, you have two sets of eyes, the eyes of your Beast, and your own, human eyes. The view is amazingly different from those polar opposite viewpoints.
  15. Enjoy the ACE, but realize that you have brought hardship and broken hearts to others who have cared about you. Building bridges back into the human family is an important part of
AVRT-based recovery. Your family needs your support and leadership today and in the years to come.
  16. Stay away from recovery groups of all kinds, set your confidence for lifetime abstinence arbitrarily at 100%, recognize all self-doubt as your Addictive Voice. Let the Beast count time, and you'll do fine.
