Character Dynamics and (Relation)ships
Platonic Pairs
Zanzi + Abeni : They met when Abeni joined the bounty forgers at 14, Zanzi was 12 and she could tell he was pretty cool, not only that but he was strong (and lonely.) so even though Zanzi wasn’t the most welcoming she made sure to befriend him. As years passed they became closer. Now, even though Zanzi wouldn’t admit it, she’s like a cool older sister to him.
Abeni + Bakari : They met shortly after she met Zanzi, she’d turnt 15 and was now in the 15-19 section. They pretty much hit it off, and could match each other's freak (insane workout regimen) so they became gym buddies, then later friends. They’re both mature and understand each other. MY PARENTS UGHH
Seyi + Zanzi : Seyi looks up to Zanzi and thinks he’s super cool. He disguises it as a “rivalry” even though that’s pretty one sided. Zanzi isn’t as much of an angel as Abeni, but he tries to be a good senior to Seyi and sees him neutrally but with a little bit of endearment.
Zanzi + Kwasi : Zanzi HATESSSS to see Kwasi coming, he throws him the hell off, but it’s all comedic, there's no genuine disgust/dislike of him, but you know Kwasi, he can piss people off easily. Their personalities definitely don’t match it’s pretty funny
Family Situations
Zanzi: Honestly, this is pretty obvious.
Raido: Raido’s parents are high status Helmuran investors in the wraith industry. They plan to pass their company on to Raido and treat him as a holy grail. They are always controlling his behaviors and image. They’re always pretty busy though so once he turned 18 he pretty much lived at the Kynor estate as an employee.
Abeni: Has lived with her brother for as long as she can remember it’s only been them. They have a five year difference. He’s pretty kind and carefree, a little dorky but overall a good brother and is the reason Abeni can be the same for the main 7.
Dalia: Lived in an orphanage the first 13 years of her life, she misbehaved, sneaking out to steal clothes in Helmura (even more so now that she’s a bounty forger and gets Helmura permits) and never really followed the curriculum. She eventually left at 13 began to actually hone her mana freely out of curriculum. Afforded a small place, sculpted her body physically and then climbed to the top bounty forger status.
Kwasi: Kwasi’s parents, they’re really talented bounty forgers but have very high standards and are extremely strict in what Kwasi can do and be. They’re textbook abusive when their children are any bit out of line, and have strict guidelines to every aspect of their life. They use hour long isolation as a "discipline tactic" and value wrongdoings over achievements. This was used as an excuse to undermine the things their children achieved. They're a major part of the reason Kwasi turned out the way he did. In recent years, Kwasi is barely in the house, when he is he’s very combative with them. (in contrast to how he behaved when he was younger)
Bakari: Bakari comes from a well rounded family, two younger siblings, one girl and boy. They’re all talented bounty forgers with earth type mana.
Seyi: He lived in an orphanage (the same one as Dalia) until he was 8, was adopted by a single mother at 20, who is a very talented bounty forger and he’s lived with her ever since.
Romantic Pairs (Can be interpreted platonic or romantic)
Seyi + Dalia : Seyi and Dalia are long-time friends, they were both orphans raised in a Nocturan orphanage. Seyi was adopted at eight and Dalia stayed until she decided to live on her own at 13. Seyi had a deep rooted crush and they ended up reuniting at 12 and 13 when they both entered the bounty forging scene. They’re now 15 and 16, Seyi is always trying to impress her and gets flustered around her. Dalia is very affectionate to him (they’re so geeky cute I love them sigh) and they also cosplay together. That's so important to me.
Abeni + Dalia (not my fav, i like them as close/bffs better): They met when Dalia joined the 15-19 forgers, Dalia saw her and was like we NEED to be friends bc fashion. They got close, and she became a good mentor to Dalia. Abeni is super caring/thoughtful to Dalia and Dalia has her first sort of girl crush but Abeni is the most aro to ever aro..So, not my fav ship but it's ok. They’re also unrequited yuri because one (highlight to read)DIES!!! And Dalia does not take it well at all, she is there at her death scene and stays the longest they have a horribly sad moment.
Bakari + Kwasi : They met in a Nocturan school, which sparsely exist and are really only attended by children of really talented bounty forgers or talented forging kids. How, is pretty funny, Kwasi was just dilly dallying when there was a sub, and bakari went up and punched him, then said “Stop wasting everyone’s time with your stupid jokes” or something like that and then walked back to his seat, It wasn’t a hard enough punch for him to scream but it was enough for him to feel it. Kwasi wasn’t actually mad about it, in fact he was curious/intrigued. So after he just walked up to Bakari at recess and was like “Hey why’d you hit me, my joke was funny?” “It wasn’t” “It totally was” awkward silence while Bakari just ignored him “You don’t have any friends do you” Bakari looked up and responded stuttering startled by the correct read “I don’t know what that has to do with anything” Kwasi laughed a bit then said “It’s ok big dude I’ll be your friend” Bakari disregarded his comment but he wasn’t lying. Kwasi floated around him for ages until they eventually became friends, but don’t be fooled Bakari still keeps him in check. Also a cool memory from them was the year they met. “Hey Bakari when’s your birthday” “November _ _” “Cooool.” There was a silence before Bakari begrudgingly said “If you wanted me to ask you yours you could just say so” “Nope I was gonna say it anyway It’s October 6 _____” “Cool” “Wait.. Wouldn’t that make you 11 in 7th grade?” “Yup I skipped a grade” Bakari gave him a look of distaste and disbelief “You can’t be serious, there's no way…” “Woowww, you’re so mean Bakari, is it that hard to believe?”
Zanzi + Raido : MY FAVS SIGHHHHH, parallel yaoi peak. How they met is pretty obvious, and the first night Zanzi offers to teach him to use his mana and it’s barbecue chicken from there. Zanzi is cold at first but warms up to him and Raido is just totally gay, they’re corny and cute at the same time. They’re also laced with pain and suffering at times because of their upbringings and their situation lol.
