GLWMTBAVWBMTB Walkthrough and FAQ v0.15

Goal of this Document

Goal is to walk though all major events and slave captures over course of the game The game runs over ~100 in-game days, about 8 hours play time at normal speed, and spanning many scripted events, Tasks, and unique slave captures. Generally, the goal of the game is to breed as many monsters as possible, of all monster types, as well as generate food and milk for slave population. All of this requires smart placement of slaves as well as base-building. A combination of certain number of monsters, food, and milk are typical requirements for meeting early Tasks; later Tasks include obedience and depravity thresholds for certain number of slaves, or Named NPCs. As such, the walkthrough will really be more of an order of priorities, as there are many ways you can set your base up to meet the Tasks, as well as Tasks that can be skipped altogether.

The Frequently Asked Questions portion covers some typical problems and other tips for gameplay.

Forewarning that this game relies on cannibalism as the only real sustainable source of food. If this sort of guro content is a non-starter you should take a pass on this game.

I have not collaborated with the game's author on this guide or reviewed the game code; stats are based on other reading or personal experience and may not be correct. This is especially true as the game is still being developed and revised.

Walkthrough

Starting game: Getting the Basics Set up

For controls: Note that CTRL button will speed you through dialog, and Current Tasks are always shown in the bottom right side. You can accelerate time up to 4X, or pause it, by clicking the forward arrows in the bottom left.
Task Days documented below are approximate; some of them are conditional and so exact day of occurrence may vary over course of the game.

  1. The game itself walks you through the basic setup and give you your first named slave, Shaman's Slave. Once completed, you should have:
    • New Captives Cage and Center Hall. These are pre-placed and cannot be moved.
    • Breed Room, Delivery Cage, Growth room. Put these next to each other
    • Slave Cage, Butcher Room. Put these next to New Captives cage.
    • Glory Holes. Put this next to the Slave Cage
  2. Your next priority is to review upgrades available. Early, you'll want to set these up
    • Babysitter's Sight: This allows you to see status of babies as they develop
    • Make love...: Reduces health damage
    • Keep Goblins Fit: Increases fertility
    • High Elves: Getting this early can can help with evolution; using High Elves as wet nurses increases likelihood of evolution
    • All other updates can wait... you'll know when you need them.
  3. Put in a Lotion Request early, and re-apply it as you get new slaves. This prevents health loss during activities and makes the game a lot easier to play.
  4. Breed your first slave to make more goblins, moving her to Growth Room to feed them milk. As you gather more female slaves, build 1-2 more breed rooms for each Delivery Cage, for a ratio of about 3 Breed Rooms per Delivery Cage. Once they deliver, move them to growth room and build a Milking Cage to have more milk on hand. Milk is required for evolving Goblins to Shamans, Shamans to Hobgoblins, etc., generally increasing the chance that any given monster will grow up to be the next more evolved. Evolving monsters is an early priority in the game so focus on this first.
  5. Males should generally be butchered for food; keep one human for breeding more males slaves to... butcher for food. Early game, you can also butcher sick and infertile slaves rather than trying to heal them, since this requires the Sacrificial Chamber and several monsters to use, for a low-probability chance to heal them. You can (and should) use some of the early Request to exchange food for goblins.
  6. Slaves get dirty and need to be washed at some point; build a Shower and do that every 3 breeding sessions or so. Once Automation is available it can do this move to showers automatically, but early in game slave Dirtiness can only be visually seen by looking closely at them.
  7. Once you have a number of slaves, put them in the Glory Holes you built and start earning Building Supplies. Move slaves to Birth Chamber as they become pregnant, and don't forget to wash them every so often. If you have the Lotion perk health damage should be minimal. Births from Glory Holes are significant; once these are going the only need for Breed Rooms is to get whatever monster you're intentionally trying to evolve bred, and to breed humanoids.
  8. Once you have a good number of 100% Depravity slaves, build a Blow Job Chamber and place them there to earn Build Supplies even faster. Note that no pregnancies will occur here, and washing is optional since the "gets Sick" check is only done during intercourse. Just make sure to wash them before you move them to a breeding area.
  9. It's a good idea to build a second New Captives Cage on the other side of the Butcher Room, as it seems to increase the number of overall captures. This will allow for automation (later). Once automation is available, building another New Captives Cage --- Butcher Room --- New Captives Cage above that one will increase the rate of food production, and is probably adequate for entire game.

Raids

  1. Generally, early Tasks will focus on needing X number of goblins. Completing these Tasks yields Upgrade Points, unique slaves, or other benefits. Note that most of the Task requirements have a very low bar... they should be easy to meet.
  2. Day 5: Provide 5 goblins. for mission to explore countryside.
  3. Day 14: Provide 10 goblins. Success yields Farm Girl who has a higher milk capacity than other slaves.
  4. Continue to selectively breed your highest level monster, feeding all offspring with milk, to attempt to get the next level higher monster. Once you have one, they will usually start appearing in the Glory Hole spots and breed their own numbers up. The only exception are Paladins, whose babies seem to require a wet nurse to get another Paladin. You'll also note, in general, that many births devolve into the next level lower monster. This ceases to be an issue once you have all levels, but in meantime work to get at least 10 of each monster at any time, with focus on breeding many more of the lower level Goblins... in the order of hundreds.
  5. Day 24: Provide 30 Milk. If you don't have a Milking Cage set up, do so now, and ensure it's more or less full. You can keep it full by periodically cycling slaves that have milk through this cell.
  6. By this point of the game, you should have Blow Job Cell set up and generating income in the form of Build Supplies, and at least a dozen of each Monster type. from Goblin to Paladin.
  7. Note that there's no reason to go crazy on base building yet, you'll be redoing everything more or less from scratch once you get Automation set up.
  8. Day 27: Provide 10 Goblins for sacrifice
  9. Day 33: Increase number of Goblins to +20 of whatever you have
  10. By this point in the game, you should have a fully populated Glory Holes and Blow Job Cell. One of each cell is more than enough for now to generate the number of Monsters and Build Supplies needed until you automate. Additionally, you should have been adding Storage Rooms, and have 4-6 of them by now to support your slaves. Filter through any new slaves in New Captive Slaves for anything interesting, but a stable population for now is fine... you'll be butchering most of what comes in. Keep cycling slaves from Glory Holes>Showers>Delivery Cage>Slave Cage>Glory Holes to keep building Monster numbers. If needed, use the Breed Room to breed up Goblins specifically, since you need them in large numbers for both Tasks and to trade for base building items. Two Growth Rooms cells will accommodate all births (at once) from Glory Holes, and generally it's easier to move all slaves at once then single i.e. wait for entire Glory Hole line to be pregnant, then move all to Showers, etc. Exchange non-fertile slaves into Blow Job Cell or butcher them for meat, but your goal should be a full Blow Job cell with a set of slaves maxxed out on Depravity and Obedience. These will be required for later events.
  11. Day 42: Provide 15 Goblins for Witch attack
  12. Day 44: Build your personal room. This will install the Fairy and set the stage for Automation. Build this immediately to start this questline; Fairy will be coming back to you in a few days with ideas.

Fairy and Automation

  1. By Day 46 Fairy will come back with some thoughts; Day 52 with an outline on how Automation will work
  2. Day 48: Provide 30 milk
  3. Day 54: Provide 150 Milk and 100 Food for feast, prerequisite for Automation. If you're been building out your storage, this should be an easy one; if not, do so now. Once this completes, unlock Automation in Requests & Upgrades. You're given enough upgrade points to do this as part of this Task so upgrade immediately. You'll see a series of blue chain links; these will be used to automate movement of slaves between cells. Make sure to click OFF the Bridges System - Old System under Game Settings so you can access the updated Automation settings.
  4. Automating everything is a big tear up... recall that you should have limited base-building up to this point. You'll find it's usually cheaper to build new than move cells long distances, so hopefully you've built up a fair amount of Build Supplies to build new. Using automation, you can automate breeding, meat production, and cleaning and milking slaves. More on Automation and some example cell layouts are below; it's an entire topic, and technically not required to finish the game.
  5. Day 60, 62, speaking events around finding another Goblin lair.
  6. Day 65, Fairy escape attempt, leading to a short cut scene game. This will start the Automation upgrade process with a series of Tasks that consume resources. Three in total, completing these will upgrade what can be controlled for on the bridges.
  7. Day 66, you're offered to turn in Fairy for her escape attempt (some fairy torture device is suggested, but no content...)
  8. Day 67: Provide 100+200+300 Milk 40+90+120 food for neighboring goblin tribe. Successfully completing this Task yields Priestess, who will be used later to capture Saintess. You should get her to 100pct Obedience and Depravity before the Castle raids.
  9. Continue the bridge upgrades by speaking to the Fairy
  10. Day 75: Prepare 50 Goblins to scout a nearby village
  11. By now you should have automated breed cages set up that can quickly breed dozens of new monsters or food, depending.
  12. Day 79: Prepare 50 Goblins, 20 Shamans, 10 Hobs and 30 food to attack village. The return from this raid yields a significant number of new slaves, filling any existing New Captive Cages.
  13. Day 89: Humans Attack! This begins a short minigame to defeat attackers. If you've been breed sufficient monsters, beating the attackers in this minigame should be no issue.
  14. Day 90: Prepare 2 Obedient human slaves. You should have at least a few of these in Blow Job Cell by now; if not, now is the time to build a Torture Room cell and make some up.
  15. Day 91: Prepare Lord's Room cell, which opens from Lord noting that your brothel is "quite popular." Building this will cause Lord to appear periodically; when Lord appears in cell, he will have 2 attribute requests. To fulfill them, you put two slaves in, one for each request. Requests will be based on race, hair color, body shape and/or height. Successfully granting free base "Requests" every time service is performed, along with Build Materials. These requests are sometimes of dubious worth... for example, providing everyone condoms. It also allows you to park 2 slaves in Lord's chamber; by mixing up their appearance you can meet requests ~50% of the time without moving anyone. Note that you'll want "Lotion" perk active, as Lord tends to kill weak slaves otherwise. Slave will get pregnant at given probability, with high level monster offspring.
  16. If you have not yet, now is the time to begin collecting examples of each slave race, as well as breeding Elves and Half-Elves from High Elves. You can collect Elves but Half-Elves must be bred, typically from Human + Elf pairing.
  17. Day 95: Shaman stops by to talk about your upcoming promotion to Wizard...
  18. Day 97: Prepare 3 Depraved Human slaves, and prepare 20/40 Goblins, 4/15 Shamans, 0/10 Hobs, 2/8 Champions, with the second option yielding better results later, perhaps.

Goblin Wizard!

  1. Day 103: Your PC is promoted to Wizard! Congratulations! You can now have sex on the bed located in the Player Room. Note that, for whatever reason, this bed increases depravity faster than any other location in the dungeon.
  2. Day 103: Prepare 10/50 Goblins, 5/20 Shamans, 0/4 Paladins in continued preparation of the Goblin army
  3. Day 107: Prepare 10 Shamans, 5 Hobs, 6 Champions, 50 Food
  4. Day 111: You are told to expect Death Hounds, and given a dialog option. Choosing the "..." response appears to allow PC to avoid bestiality content that comes with the Death Hound series of events.
  5. Day 113: Build Werehound Room cell for Pack Leader. This cell works similar to Lord's Room cell; requests vary and you can park 4 slaves here, which he'll use one at a time. By picking a good variety you can avoid having to replace slaves here, just remember to wash them periodically. Initially, you'll just be filling his satisfaction meter to full, on a 3 day time limit; it requires 3 slave full-breeding sessions. Later, you'll be fulfilling requests.
  6. Success with Werehound Room task allows you to build Hound Cells. Each cell is a breeding and infant raising point for Death Hounds, and can hold 10 mature Death Hounds. These will be born initially from pregnancies from the Pack Leader; however you can continue to breed them within the cell. Note that infant Death Hounds can only be placed in Death Hound cells; for this reason it makes sense to put a Delivery Cage nearby. Build at least 1 Hound Cell now and fill it up; you'll need 10 Death Hounds for a later Task. Especially since (ironically) the litter size for Death Hounds is only 1-2 at a time.
  7. Nepenthes Room appears around same time as Werehound Room. Slaves can be placed here; apparently this creates food every time it's cycled.
  8. Day 114: Prelude to potion making quest.
  9. Day 116: Prepare 20 Goblins, 2 Shamans, and 1 Hob for potion quest.
  10. Day 120: Return from potion quest, short animation with Fairy for potion making supplies... This ends the last of quests prior to the Castle raids.

Castle Raids

  1. Day 123: Prepare 50 Build Supplies, 10 Hounds, and 5 Depraved Slaves for siege.
  2. Day 124: Prepare Depraved Priestess for Castle raid. If you have the Priestess, and she's at 100% Obedience and Depravity, you can send her to capture Saintess. Otherwise, you have 1 day to get her to these requirements.
  3. Day 131: Prepare 4 100% Obedient and Depraved slaves. Required to capture Nun later.
  4. Day 136: Prepare 30 Goblins, 10 Hobs, and 10 Champions for final attack on castle.
  5. From this point, you'll start receiving slaves based on the Castle raids and tasks you fulfills. These include:
    • Human Witch
    • Goblin Witch. Goblin Witch can be "healed" in the Sacrificial Chamber, which will make her look more like a normal Goblinette. If you haven't built one yet, now is the time. Using this chamber several times will also yield Gyuru, a named NPC.
    • Saintess, captured by the Priestess that you sent
    • Nun, captured by 4 Obedient / Depraved slaves you sent
    • Secretary
    • Royal Family (King, Queen, Princess) are last captures
  6. At this point the game's complete. There's no need to really "make" anything else.

FAQ - Potential problems

"My slaves are all dying after I load my save!"

If you got the lotion perk at some point in your last save, you'll notice the lotion "stays applied" for all slaves present when the perk is in place. It "wears off" after a reload, so slaves that are not 100pct Depravity will start losing health, sometimes rapidly. The fix is to remove these slaves (or, all slaves) from activities and reapply the lotion perk, waiting until it is in effect to re-place the slaves.

"My slaves keep dying of starvation!"

As you progress game, if you're automatically feeding slaves, you'll need to purchase additional food storage. The issue is that once your slave population grows, the amount needed to feed them all at once strips the food storage. Build more storage, fill it with food, and the problem should go away. Alternately, there are "starvation proof" slaves that can be bred that prevent this as well; look in slave attributes and you'll find slaves that cannot starve as long as they are pregnant, etc.

"What are all the different rooms and how do they work?"
  • Breed Room: Breeds Monster+Slaves or Slaves+Slaves
  • Delivery Cage: Allows pregnant slaves to birth, creates infants
  • Growth Room: Grows infants to adult, can be used to feed infants milk if humanoid female is in place
  • Butcher Room: Butchers slaves or goblinettes for Food; initially taking slave health to zero (if required) then cutting them apart in a 2 step process. You can place Monsters here to speed up the butchering process
  • Slave Cage: Stores slaves and restores their heath
  • Glory Holes: Place slaves here to generate build supplies, create pregnancies, and increase depravity, at the cost of slave health. Placing slaves here with full Depravity eliminates the health effect. Males can be placed here; change the content setting under Settings > Gameplay > Male with Male to enable this content.
  • Blow Job Cell: Place slaves here to generate build supplies and increase obedience, at the cost of slave health. Placing slaves here with full Depravity eliminates the health effect. Males can be placed here; change the content setting under Settings > Gameplay > Male with Male to enable this content.
  • Milking Cage: Milks slaves and stores milk for use in Growth Room
  • Showers: Cleans off dirty slaves, lowering their chance to get sick
  • New Captives Cage: Drop off point for new humanoid captures
  • Storage Room: Increases Food and Milk capacity by +200 / +200
  • Torture Room: Place slaves here to increase Obedience
  • Sacrificial Chamber: Heal slave or transform gender in a chance based process, with chance increasing the higher-level monster "offering" is made. Requires a Paladin to cast spell. Each monster adds percentage to likelihood spell will work; numbers are something like Goblin = 1% and Paladin = 5%. So placing 10 goblins for sacrifice around the chamber yields a 10% chance spell will work; 10 paladins yields 50%.

The following cells are locked at game start and open up later:

  • Personal Room: Your personal room, including 4 slave cages, one fairy cage, and a bed. Running automation here first fills up the cages, then the next slave goes onto your bed for breeding.
  • Lord's Room: Bed for Goblin Lord and capacity for 2 slaves
  • Werehound's Room: Werehound, and capacity for 4 slaves
  • Hound Cell: Breeding, incubating, and housing for up to 10 Death Hounds
  • Nepenthes room: Gives food if you drop slave here; tentacle content
"What are all the Named NPCs, and where do I get them?"

Main Story slaves, in order of appearance (below is a guess / approximate)

  • Shaman's Slave
  • Farm Girl
  • Fairy: Required for cell automation
  • Priestess: Required to capture Saintess later
  • Goblin Witch
  • Human Witch
  • Saintess: Capture requires Priestess to have full Depravity and Obedience
  • Nun
  • Secretary
  • King, Queen, Princess Royal Family, last captures of the game

Event-based slaves, requiring certain conditions for them to occur that are not based on story progression

  • Gyaru: Pink-haired human slave, appears after several uses of the Sacrificial Chamber
  • High Elf: Repeatedly requesting "Search for High Elf" (? read about, did not accomplish)
"What are all the different Monsters, and where do I get them?"

Monsters are birthed in the following hierarchy. Feeding them milk using a wet nurse during growth has a chance of evolving them to the next level. Also note monsters can devolve if not fed milk as well. For example: Shaman baby fed milk may evolve into a Hobgoblin, or devolve into a Goblin.

  • Goblin: Base monster; you'll want a lot of these as they are used to trade for good, set up automation, etc.
  • Shaman
  • Hobgoblin: Works well as butcher in Butchering Cell
  • Champion
  • Paladin: Required to cast spells in Sacrificial Chamber

In addition to above, there are also Death Hounds, which are created during special events late in the game.

"Where's the savegame located?"

On Windows machine, file is located at:
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\HappyPillow\Goblin Burrow Manager\Saves

"How do I get money / Build Materials / etc. as cheats?"

Edit the savegame, yours or the one above, at one of the many online editors, and update the file.
Example site: https://www.saveeditonline.com/

"My game keeps crashing?"

I found that game seems to crash as you get more slaves, and likelihood of crashing increases if they are all busy... but frankly I've had crashing issues even with lower slave counts on my machine. Save often if you're having problems with this.

"How do I fix scratches and bruising on slaves?"

Saving and reloading the game removes bruises; appears the stat isn't saved between game loads. There's no in-game way to do it, so don't waste monsters on healing spells or time in Slave Cage.

"How do I access the monster on male content?"

This is switched on within settings, by default it's shut off. Turning it on allows you to place males in Glory Holes and Blow Job Cell. The effect is less visits, but more building materials for the visits that happen.

Tips and other Notes

Rooms that can wait

There are a few special purpose rooms that you don't need right away, or at all, during the game, so unless you want to unlock animations, put off building them to at least until after Automation is enabled.

  • Torture Room: This room quickly increase Obedience. There are later events that require slaves with maxxed out Obedience, but note you'll be slowing generating these in the Blow Job cell. Build it if you need it; cell holds 3 inmates at a time. Note that the whipping spot in back left will leave slave with bruises, which can be removed by saving and reloading the game.
  • Sacrificial Chamber: This room unreliably "heals" slave (removes Sick or Infertile condition) or transforms their gender. Its other two uses are to summon Gyaru, a Named NPC, after several uses, and fix the appearance of Goblin Witch. Otherwise it's just a chance-based way to fix slaves; it's frankly easier to just butcher them and replace with a new one most of the time. Build when needed.
  • Nepenthes Room: Available late game; by the time you can get it you won't need it. Mostly useful for watching the animation sequence.
Increasing Depravity

Any breeding activity increases Depravity, but note that Player Cell bed increases Depravity the fastest. Second fastest is any Breed Cell.

Automation Guidelines and Notes

Automation greatly speeds up generative activities in the game, making Tasks much easier to fulfill with less manual moving of Monsters and Slaves. These Automations require Build Supplies and Goblins to set up and run. Setting it up has a few nuances:

  • Rooms only will interface if they are directly touching, only on certain sides at certain points... namely, the blue squares
    • Glory Holes can only be bridges on left and right, not top or bottom.
    • Butcher Room can only be accessed on left, right and bottom, but not top.
    • Ensure blue squares are lit up for both cells during placement; otherwise cells cannot be bridged
  • Rooms don't handle cross-traffic well; Slave A in Room A cannot go to Room B if it's occupied by Slave B, and this would prevent Slave B from moving to Room A because the bridge is occupied by Slave A. For this reason, automations must be either one-direction linear, or have only one slave that can be in either room at a time. Examples:
    • Breed Room <--> Delivery Cage is OK, as long as only one female slave occupies either
    • Showers <--> Glory Holes is usually OK, since both cells can hold multiple slaves, just don't overfill the shower with slaves
    • Slave Cage <--> Delivery Cage won't work if Slave Cage holds multiple pregnant slaves, as slaves can't get back from Delivery Cage once Bridge is full
  • Due to physical limitations when building, it's challenging to set up circular processes. It's easier to set up linear process where a bunch of slaves start at one end, end up at the other, then are manually moved as a group back to the start.
  • Center Hall cannot be moved so any placement needs to take this into consideration. For examples:
    • Growth Rooms should be placed next to Center Hall so this can be Bridged to remove Monsters as they mature
  • Watch out for designs that will run out of cell capacity. For example, if you fill up the Shower cell, you'll not be able to place all slaves in the Glory Holes cell, as the latter holds less than the former, and the Bridge will jam as capacity is filled up if slaves try to go from Glory Holes to Shower Cell
  • Every time you move a cell you break the bridge to the next cell. The Build Supplies will be lost, but Goblins will be returned to inventory. For this reason, you want to avoid making a bunch of minor adjustments once the bridges are in place... Do the adjustments first, make sure the links light up (showing that they can be bridged), and once you're done with setup, set the bridges in place and configure them.
  • Moving cells long distances actually costs more (up to 10% more) than building a new cell. It's often cheaper and easier to just build a second one to set up automation and abandon or demolish the first.
  • I've found issues with "ghost slaves" getting stuck on bridges. They prevent movement across them and you can't select them to remove them, or destroy the bridge. Restarting the game from current save seems to clear these out.
Automation Examples

A few examples showing how automation can be set up. Given the state of Automation, linear, single-direction setups work best. You can make it circular with some work using Breed Rooms as conveyor belts, but you'll find issues with lines jamming and slaves moving the wrong direction... it's not straightforward.

Monster Breeder: Start them through process by dropping Slaves from Slaves Cage & Milking Room to Glory Holes. Wait for them all to return, then move them back. You'll need to play with default bridge setup to keep slaves from moving to Growth Room, and will need 2 Growth Rooms to handle all the volume. Take care not to overfill by placing slaves in shower to capacity or you'll jam that part of the line.

Showers<-->Glory Holes-->Delivery Cage-->Growth Room-->Growth Room-->Center Hall (infant / monster path)
Delivery Cage-->Slaves Cage-->Milking Cage (slave path)

Meat Breeder: Slave Cage and Shower are optional to prevent Sick / Death. Butcher Room can be set up to butcher everything, or just males. Note that as female slave pile up they'll start wet nursing new arrivals; a second Slaves Cage to remove females will prevent this.

Showers<-->Slave Cage<-->Breed Room-->Delivery Cage-->Growth Room-->Butcher Room
