Albireo of the Northern Sky (Event Story)
Chapter 3: I tried to listen
Hikari: We’ve arrived~!!
Panda: The place’s pretty, but it’s really giving “the temple” vibes.
Feels like there’s something going around the buildings...
Hikari: Right..! I feel a bit nervous..!
Kamira: In that case, I’ll go to ask the Priest ‘bout video recording.
I think it should be fine though, we’ve contacted them beforehand after all!
Panda: Huh!? Wait a minute, Kamira-san―
And there she goes. Gyaru’s initiative strength is really on another level...
Hikari: Thank ya, Kamira-chan~!
Panda: This side’s also a fast learner...
Hikari: ?
Panda: Oh, don’t mind me!
Should we take a pic for our arrival?
Hikari: Surely!
Yaaay! We’ve arrived~!! *camera clicks*
This is great! No doubt, you’re very handy with this, Panda-chan!
Panda: Heheh. This is nothing big though!
Kamira: Heey, sorry for the wait!
Hikari: Kamira-chan! Did it go well?
Kamira: A solid OK! The priest’s surprisingly a friendly one.
There’s also a grandchild around my age, our conversation went like a blast!
Panda: In such a short time... The terrifying power of Gyaru...
Kamira: Ah, right. The priest’s gonna preach a Dharma Talk¹ after this,
y’all interested? Since we climbed a lot of stairs, ya know, gotta take a break.
Panda: Is it really a break if we listen to a Dharma Talk...?
Also like, it feels impolite if we’re not listening to it seriously...
Kamira: Don’t worry ‘bout it! The Priest themself said to treat that as a break!
It’s also not like you guys must really pay attention. Whaddaya think? They also don’t mind video recordings!
Panda: Panda sees...
Hikari, what do you think? Wanna go to listen?
Hikari: I’d like to!
Because.. “Buddha’s also no one at first?”, as one would say!
Kamira: Hahaha, the meaning becomes kinda wrong there~!
Then, we’ll go to listen!
Panda: Whew, the Priest surely was a friendly one.
They also said “Do your best for the video!”, even giving all of these sweets...!
Kamira: Right?! The tea’s also good!
Whatcha guys think about the topic? Since suddenly I involve you two, was it easy to get?
Hikari: It was fun! The topic was kinda hard to follow though...
Kamira: Ahaha! Can’t deny, it does become confusing when one’s suddenly told ‘bout that!
Well, in summary,
It’s about: “When making videos, you shouldn’t aim for popularity, but must make for yourself first!”
Panda: Efficiently summarized...
Hikari: For yourself?
Kamira: True-true!
Since, if you care about others too much, you’ll lose sight of what you actually want to do.
Hikari: How deep....
Kamira: So it’s like, each tale’s comprehension will depend on the receivers!
Hikari: You’re amazing, Kamira-chan.
While knowledgeable about fashions, you also understand about these things.. It kinda feels unexpected.
Kamira: That ‘cuz my house’s surrounded with a lot of temples, so I often just hang around with them!
Moreover, I’m sure everyone has at least one unusual side inside them.
Panda: (One unusual side...)
Kamira: Though I said that, I usually just hop into stuff that seems interesting,
Despite how “One who walks on roundabouts will never arrive.”! ²
Hikari: Roundabouts?
Kamira: The meaning’s like: It can be hectic if doing a lot of things at once!
Now, let’s start to shoot the dance video!
Panda: (Hikari-san, she’s skilled with dancing while having a unique personality...)
(Then Kamira-san, she has enough dance experience, a gyaru woman of action with deep insights...)
(If Panda’s not doing anything for today’s shoot, she’ll not be getting any parts...!
How to have highlights in this hard-to-win situation.. Against the two’s dancing ability...)
(An NG shot? Making a scene?
Nah, definitely can’t do those...)
(Seems like there’s no other option than to immediately finish the dance video collab,
then continue and make it up with another section...!)
TL notes:
[1] Dharma talk is Buddha’s sermon, a talk about religion or moral subjects. The JP word is 法話 (hogo).
[2] This part is also a proverb, in romaji: “kudou wo iku mono wa itarazu” -> Hikari asked “kudou?”, this word means crossroad (I used roundabouts to match with my proverb TL)
