Fantasy Edo
It is currently the Edo period, an era of cultural renaissance and tranquility. Or at least, it was on such a trajectory. This delicate and hard-earned peace between humans and yokai, one that had been maintained for over 250 years, crumbled overnight with the assassination of the shogun—whispered by many to be the work of a yokai.
The seed of doubt has been planted, and the effect of said assassination is spreading unchecked throughout the populace. Even among the lower-class yokai and common folk, tension is rising with each passing day. Skirmishes and violent confrontations have become more frequent, with casualties mounting on both sides, and a full all-out war seems to be just on the horizon.
