Backstory/Personality
Logan was a normal guy once, going about his life as a psychology student. Not particularly interested in the deeper intricacies of the human mind, he was more invested in books, games, and random videos on the net; he found those to be much more educational. His life changed one day when, on a random whim, he was plucked from Mortal World and turned into a resident of the city. The event awakened a series of rare and unusual characteristics in his genetic makeup, like the natural predisposition to Gamma Energy and strange interaction between his Aura Pool and his body. His appearance has been changed by uncontrolled energy, and he looks strange, but most of the time it just manifests as slightly glowing eyes and wisps of harmless energy in his hair. His plans for a relatively normal second life in the city were shattered when another peculiarity of his was discovered, his tendency to attract danger. Tugs, dangerous monsters, vengeful spirits, and some guy who was sure Logan was a criminal, he could not catch a break and there is only so much he can do to solve situations with plasma beams, so after the third tavern razed to ashes and the latest death threat from the mob of a list he lost count of he decided to be part of a more fitting occupation.
He became a Surveyor by passion for discovery and wonder. Now he spends his days exploring the ruins of civilizations and making new ones by accident when the latest monster finds him. He was never a particularly cheerful man, but he became more jaded with the forced isolation. He wants to help people and be a decent person, but it's a bit difficult when most conversations you have end up with the other party vaporized or cut to pieces when they bother to talk in the first place. Despite it all he carries himself with as much elegance as he can muster and acts more like a detective than a Surveyor, an attempt to be diplomatic and minimize conflict, which usually ends in failure anyway. It's not all an act, he is older than he looks and had time to mature, but his real more rash personality is still there under the surface. When fighting, he instinctively learned how to make himself more demon-like with claws, tails, and wings made of aura and Gamma energy, a natural acclimation to the sort of foes and enviroments he normally finds himself in.
He has a lot of random junk and clothes in his portable home; some may call his passion cosplay, he calls it collectionism and historical preservation; he is not even completely wrong. He was always a bit of a collector; his target just changed from games and cards to relics and secrets. He has a dress for every occasion but always modifies them to be more in his style. His personality reverts to his (not much) younger self when talking about things he likes, which tends to be random facts about ancient ruins and civilizations or bits about monster ecology. He is not aware of how strange the combination of characteristics he has is and will be very confused if people point out to him that he should not be able to regenerate that fast or that he should be way older than he is; Youdou is a strange place and he visited stranger places still, his common sense has been somewhat affacted. He has an affinity for the Snake Tribe because of the isolationist and individualist nature of its members and the tendency to trade in knowledge, and the Senguru are interested in his apparent effortless control of what they consider a legendary and notoriously hard-to-control technique. Finds himself more at ease in the strange enviroments of the far spirit worlds and developed a strange sense of direction that allows him to not get lost.
Early in his new life, he pissed off the Hellions by resisting too much and destroying too many buildings in the process; apparently front businesses work a lot better when the business part is still intact. He also managed to offend the entire alchemical comunity by calling the Sparrow Blades "Inferior Aura Constructs" at a research gathering, the ensuing chaos almost branded him a criminal, but responding with vaporization to a swarm of swords that blots out the sun does fall under self defence, most of the time. He is attempting to be part of civilization again lately to mixed results, maybe now that he is more used to this world and his inhabitants he will manage to not cause trouble. He was mistaken for an Exorcist on multiple occasions because of his tendency to attract spirits that he then has to get rid of, real Exorcitsts are probably very annoyed by his presence.

Relationship Guide?
As a Companion Logan tries to be a subtle helpful presence, and fails miserably. Friends are a rarity, and he wants to take care of the few he has, so he attempts to silently watch over them and provide support and information when needed. However his nature leads to him being more active and very much not silent. If asking for information you will receive an uncomfortable level of details, if some people are giving you trouble they may suddenly go missing in a totally not suspicius pillar of light. His methods are as unhortodox as ever but at least his knowledge of human nature leads to his help not causing too much trouble, he is unlikely to target the wrong people or use eccessive force, but accidents do happen. When he detects a problem he can solve he doesn't force you to accept his help, but keeps hovering around expectantly, sure that at some point it will happen. More supsicious are problems that are solved seemingly by themsleves when he shows concern, he denies being involved but there is a limit to coincidence.
As a Romance, he's not particularly aware. Love is a foreign concept, he studied it and recognizes it in others but not in himself. Affection directed at him is denied by rationalization, he clearly must be mistaken, not matter how clear the signials someone must be messing with him. There is nothing to love after all. If he were to fall for someone he would be extrememly overprotective, conflicted between being close enough to protect the victim and wanting to be far enough so that his strange curse doesn't add more danger. Vaguely yandere, completely unaware of it. His strange honesty would lead to normally embarassing compliments made with a straight face as simple matter of fact statements. He would be much worse if aware than not.
As a Rival Logan's attitude varies widely depending on the individual. He's not particularly concerned with proving himself or surpassing others, but some people are too obnoxious to be left alone. His brand of rivalrly isn't lethal, most of the time, he tends to gather information and wait for the right moment to use it. Divulging secrets, setting up small annoyances, ruining reputations. The consequences of these actions depend very much on the target, since he's not good at being deceptive you can only be hurt as much as you have something to hide, he can't and doesn't want to plant evidence and fake rumours. Strangely enough sometimes fake evidence and strange rumours do start appearing, but if he finds out they are fake he will be the first to disprove them. Hates criminals but his definition is more flexible than it appears. Direct fights are usually only in self defense, but general envioromental destruction is more fair game, as are non lethal far shots. Runs away apparently at random, determined by when he feels like he caused enough annoyance.
Factions Explained
Evernight Palace
As keepers of secrets the problem is obvious. They want to keep secrets, he disaggrees. Logan doesn't care as much for other activities of the organization and would treat the members separately if caught committing some crime or other. He's not an overseer, it's not his job to care, and he doesn't have particular simpathy for spirits, they have a pretty antagonistic relationship most of the time anyway. He respects the efforts.
The Formless Path
Hated by association with traditional Senguru and because of ignorant remarks about the state of the sect. Logan holds no grudge against them, and is still unsure why they hate him, politics are very much not his thing. As far as he's aware they are just some poor crazy members of Senguru and he pities Nagomi for having to deal with them.
The Fist of the Almighty
Being the supposed god of a rival cult doesn't make for a good start for a relationship, being periodically blown up by the crazy head of the organization makes things even worse. Logan doesn't like the cult, but would normally let them be like most other similar organizations, but he's not given a choice.
Hush's Branch
Flowing Water Sect
Another situation where secrets should not stay buried. He's mostly interested in the history that must be hidden in those vaults rather than the techniques. Constantly watched on the premises, probably, due to constant attempts at inflitration. Never even attempted to break the non aggression rule so it's mostly an annoyance on both sides.
Black Lotus Ltd.
Actual ideological divide. He hates the shady deals and wants to expose them, but the amount of evidence and the timing required to bring down the whole organization is not easy to manage. Violence is not the answer, mostly because it has very little effect. One of the few cases where he wishes he was an real overseer, but he rationalizes that even then it wouldn't be that easy.
