USB Tools

Multi-ISO

Ventoy (Windows, Linux, Mac)
YUMI exFat (Ventoy Copy) & YUMI Legacy (Windows Only)

Single ISO

Rufus (Windows Only)
UNetbootin (Windows, Linux, Mac)
balenaEtcher (Windows, Linux, Mac) DOES NOT SUPPORT WINDOWS ISOS

Operating Systems

Windows

3rd party Windows ISO mirrors

ALWAYS verify your ISO using The Hash Archive or a similar website.

For playbooks, use this ISO as a base. (Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 x64)
SHA512: A0334F31EA7A3E6932B9AD7206608248F0BD40698BFB8FC65F14FC5E4976C160

ReviOS

  • Optimizes stock Windows as much as possible without breaking it.
  • I use this on every PC I use (personal, work, family and friends, grandparents, etc...)

AtlasOS - The Windows OS for Gamers.

  • Used to (?) remove a lot of features to optimize for latency and resources.
  • Applying this on top of Revi MIGHT provide a performance boost. Dont ask me how to though.

FoxOS

  • Similar to AtlasOS, but sells tweaks for normal Windows along with ISO.
  • Discord seems more tweak-centered instead of the ISO.

Linux

Gentoo - Semi-Rolling

  • Time consuming, first timers need atleast 4~ days to get it fully installed.
  • Compiles all packages from scratch, optimizing them for your specific CPU and needs using USE flags.

Arch - Rolling

  • Has a CLI installer and an unofficial GUI installer as well as many GUI scripts.
  • Used as a base for many other ISOs and Linux Operating Systems.
  • For an easy to use, yet functional archinstall alternative check out archinstallscript.

Artix - Rolling

  • Arch but without systemd. Can have some compatibility issues because of that.

NixOS - Rolling

  • Reproducible OS - share the main config file and you share the setup.
  • All configuration is done in 1-2 config files.
  • Comes with the Nix package manager.

Fedora - Semi-Rolling

  • The best distro for beginners (imo)
  • Has quick yet stable updates.
  • Nothing broke on me while I was using it.

Nobara - Semi-Rolling (Fedora-Based)

  • Fedora, but optimized for power users and gamers.
  • Similar to Crystal by style and feel of use.

Crystal - Rolling (Arch-based)

  • Arch based distro but done right, nothing broke for me on it and stuff just worked.
  • Similar to Nobara by style and feel of use.

openSUSE - Rolling/Release

  • Has rolling (Tumbleweed) and per-release (Leap) variants.
  • Uses the same package manager as Fedora.
  • Nothing broken but some software is outdated or missing, even on Tumbleweed.

EndeavourOS - Rolling (Arch based)

  • My recommended distribution for beginners after Fedora.
  • Has a lot of DEs and Customization.
  • Uses dracut and systemd-bootd.

OS X (Mac OS)

OpenCore

  • Supports most OS X versions unless you're limited by your hardware.
  • Guide is surprisingly easy.

Internet

Web Browsers

Check this for articles on popular programs with explanations of the spyware features found in them (mostly on web browsers).

Librewolf - Firefox based

  • The best Firefox browser.
  • Comes pretweaked with similar settings to arkenfox's user.js.
  • Wipes cookies on close (you can disable this in the settings)

Brave - Chromium based

  • The best Chromium based browser.
  • Comes with its own variant of uBlock Origin integrated.
  • Works without much tweaking.

Thorium - Chromium based

  • Also the best Chromium based browser.
  • Chromium but optimized with compiler optimizations such as PGO & LTO.
  • Creator also made optimized versions of Firefox, ChromiumOS, Atom, VSCode & more!
  • If Brave didn't have their custom Adblocker & vertical tabs, I would be using this.
  • Check his repos out, hes' a cool guy.

Ungoogled Chromium - Chromium based

  • Takes little memory comparaed to the other browsers here.
  • Comes with No search engine set by default.
  • Support for extensions via this extension.

Mullvad Browser - Firefox/Tor based

  • Tor Browser without the Tor part.
  • Optimized for normal web browsing.
  • Clears cookies on exit.

MyPal - Firefox based

  • The only good browser for Windows XP

[Opera (GX)]
