vanessa had a difficult childhood, their mother, lana choi, who was less than attentive toward them && inadvertantly caused vanessa’s dibilitating fear of heights.
after her parents divorced, vanessa, aged 10, along with her older brother, leon, aged 17, moved from their birthplace of brooklyn nyc to busan, south korea with their father, robert choi.
however, once vanessa’s emerging mutant powers began to surface at 17, the trio settled back into new york city—which was where vanessa started their vigilante career.
