Bio

Renka is a strange girl, to say the least. Her mixed heritage and odd behaviours had always caused her problems when relating to others, but her part in a peculiar incident was the final provocation. For those whose children did not return from the night, she became the target of cruel accusations, which suggested that she had been the ringleader and used her peers as sacrifices in a dark ritual. The fact that those who participated were tight-lipped about the experience, and that she returned even stranger than before, didn't help the situation. Her parents eventually sent her away for her safety, hoping that getting away from Kageoka might help rebalance her. The result was somewhat opposite; she became only more lost in the world that only she knows, but also became more reserved and generally beneath notice because of it. Now, all the strangeness is contained in the odd pictures she draws, her quiet disappearances into unfamiliar parts of the city, and cryptic phrases that can be heard mumbled under her breath. It hasn't spared her entirely from persecution, however, as her absence has also made her more alien and threatening to some. If the casual and deliberate cruelty she has grown accustomed to weighs on her, it doesn't show.

When not at school, Renka can rarely be reliably found due to a habit of wandering off to mysteriously disappear somewhere in the city. What she does is anyone's guess, but she always returns with several pages of her notebook filled to the brim with particularly disturbing drawings. If she isn't out and about, it means she's likely performing duties at the grand shrine complex that her family maintains. While Renka is a blemish on their record, the Cho are a family widely respected due to their position at the head of the organization that oversees Kageoka's shrines. That their troublesome daughter is set to inherit the shrine and take the role of head priestess is the subject of much gossip for those who live in the city's outskirts.

Despite the distance that has grown between Renka and her parents, they still care for her dearly, even if they struggle to articulate their love. Their spiritual nature makes them much more understanding of her quirks, but this does little to ease their worries. They've suggested transferring or having her attend from home, but Renka always rebuffs them and insists that she wants to stay at Higan. Though she doesn't talk about it as if it's something she wants to do, but as if there's a reason she must stay at Higan.

    Yumemiru is what Renka should be, at least she believes that to be so. When she's in the Idea World, assuming the form of her other self, is the only time she feels truly at home. While doing so, she wields the power to manifest her dreams with such potency that those unable to cope with the departure from 'normal' sense will find themselves crushed under the weight of all they reject and which she has no choice but to accept.
