Abyssal Chains
Mutated version of the Adamantine Sealing Chains born of research and mad science. They lost the ability to seal chakra but they absorb it and transfer it to the user.
Backstory
Leigan is an artificial biological weapon cultivated in an underground lab. The purpouse of the reasearch was the understanding of the genetic abilities of the overseas lands by Arcadian mages, created with assorted genetic material. The survival rate of vat grown subjects was relatively high, the success rate of awakening any kind of genetic trait was much smaller however so most subjects were disposed of shortly after. After several painful tests Leigan was about to meet the same fate but he awakened an incomplete KKG at the last moment whci bought him some time.
A partial success was deemed enough to further research so the subject was placed in containment with other successes. Weapons don't need much, but a minimum level of theory was provided to the kids in the chance any of them survived long enough to be useful, reading and language, both Arcadian and oversea in the case for infiltration missions. The kids were tested dayly, in attempt to bring out the hidden genetic material as much as to test the limit of the creatures. In this strange routine Leigan learned not to trust anyone, the cold researchers treated him like an object and tested him without care, the researcher that seemed kind with promises of new books and foods still tested him as painfully as the others no matter how much they promised otherwise. Some researchers made prgamatic deals with the more aware kids, negotiating freedom for collaboration, in the end he knew those were lies as well.
Other kids rotated in and out of containment, when they didn't come back after testing the scientists said they were transfered to a different unit, they just died one way or another. With a power classified as useful but not groundbreaking he was lucky, his tests were not as difficult as the ones designed for more destructive KKGs, so despite all odds he outlived most other subjects. All changed with a shift in management, the results were lacking for the higher ups so the center was given an ultimatum, to produce results or be disbanded, so the tests intensified.
The results didn't matter anymore, the evidence had to be disposed of so the death of the subjects was considered as just speeding up the process. These tests acted as a catalyst for Leigan to fully awaken, his chains that were inert until then responded to his comands, they drained the energy and life of anything around him and he blanked out. When he woke up everyone was dead apart from him, he wasn't sure if he was to one to kill them or if his trance was just the spark that made the other kids rebel but he didn't intend to stick around to find out.
Taking with him some random supplies that he could find and some research materials Leigan ran as far as he could, using his chains and the information in the notes he managed to flee overseas. Hearing of a village that gathered people from all over as long as they are skilled he decided to try his luck there. He was deemed unskilled but with some potential due to his chains so they put him in the academy with the rest of the kids.

Personality
Distrustful and paranoid, speaks in a cold and cynical way most of the time but doesn't harbor any particular hatred for everyone. Is aware not everyone is as bad as the researchers but doesn't believe anyone can be truly good even if he was helped by good people in the past. Vindictive when wronged but not overtly, he bides his time waiting for an opportunity without going out of his way to make it happen. It's difficult to distinguish between the people he treats badly because he genuinely dislikes them and those he simply attempts to keep at a distance to not be taken advantage of.
If he were to get close to someone he would be very protective of them but would still struggle to be nice. Spends a lit of his free time reading books on different topics, still unsure on what his place in the world is, doesn't dislike the idea of a life of killing and combat but isn't sure if that's the right way to live. Likes research in chakra/mana and other types of energy, also likes looking at nature and relaxing outside, even if it's difficult for him to let his guard down and just enjoy it. Dislikes authority figures because of his past but is trying to at least be polite. He understands that teamwork is necessary for the job so he is attempting to collaborate at least in a professional way.
Notable Phisical Characteristics.
Heterocromia, one eye glows under certain circumstances.
Remnant chains in a wing like pattern on his back.
