A Day in the Life ALT

I wake up, before my alarm goes off, as usual. What a fantastic nights rest I had! AHH~ SO REFRESHED! INVIGORATED! I FEEL ALIVE! Ok...lets tone it down a bit buddy, day just started, but it's good your showing enthusiasm. I pick myself out of bed and walk over to the window, sliding it open and staring out at the world as it reopens for business. The cool, crisp morning air rides the wind into my face and I take a deep breath. Man, is there a single better feeling than this? I'd be hard pressed to find one! God I love life! Let's make this another great day!

I grab a towel and head into the bathroom to shower. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Make sure behind your ears are clean! Won't let any of the Ministry members tease you at today's meeting. Ahaha...those guys, I'll have to get them back someday! Head, shoulders, knees and toes. Clean as a whistle...and you look pretty good to boot Krono! Hmm... I angle my face to the right and left. A little stubble...ehhh I'll shave tomorrow. I flex a little, gym reps are definitely paying off! Hard work always pays off! Alright, lets dry up, get into the uniform and head to work! Out of my chambers and down the stairs, I have a cup at the table with some toast. I'll lay off the calories in the morning so I can have something good with everyone after the meeting. You guys won't get to tease me about that either! I'll eat twice as much as they next person to establish dominance! Ahaha...ahhh...what am I thinking? Too enthusiastic! I look up at the clock. Oh no! I'm late! Ah how did this happen?! To much mirroring yourself buddy! Alright, mental note! Stare less at yourself, think about what might happen when you get careless and how it affects others! I grab my coat, find my hat, lets go to the office!

Hmm well since I'm already late...might as well slip inside the cafe along the way and grab a little apologize gift for the other Ministry members. Hmm what would fit...donuts...crepes...french toast? How about... all of them and they can grab whatever they want, that way everyone is happy! Impeccable thinking, as always Krono, as always. I smile to myself and make my way into the cafe. A little place where the bottom floor is the business and the upper the owners residence. It's quiet, looks like I've ether beat the rush, or the rush beat me!

"いらっしゃいませ！! May I be of assistance today?" The shopkeep nods her head and smiles.
"Ah hello! I certainly hope so!" Aha it's a young woman today, guess the old man must be busy. An apron over a kimono...that's something you don't see very often. How bold! Well...I guess if you don't want to get your kimono messy...
"What would you like?" She steps out from the counter and pulls out a mini notebook for order taking.
I walk up to the confectionery display and stare at everything available,"Well...I'd like one of every pastry please! I've got a bunch of rowdy coworkers down the block and I'd like to try and calm them down y'know?"
"Of course, I'll be a moment then." She returns to the counter, putting together a box to fit all the pastries in. She puts on a pair of gloves and opens the sealed chamber housing all the sweets. I notice her stealing a quick glance at me and then she bites down on her lip...ahaha... I know, I know, you can't help it. I can't either! Well...oh! My phone vibrates in my pocket...Guess I'm pushing the clock a bit too much here...well I could just stop time and go over to the office. Hmmm let's see what the message says first.

"Bruh ur late af get ur bony ass over here!"
Ahahaha... charming as ever buddy...hmm...alright.... I've a great idea actually! I'm not gonna stop time.

"Excuse me? I've gathered all the pastries for you. That will be ¥6900." She blushes ever so slightly. What an incredibly odd number to land on...is that a sign? Well...

"Yeah, here!" I dig my wallet out of my coat pocket and pull out several ¥1000 bills.
"4...5...6...7! There we go... ¥7000. I place it on the little tray next to the register and smile at the shopkeep. "Actually...miss...if you wouldn't mind..."
She opens the register and places the money inside then pulling out my change and placing it on the tray. "Hmm? Need something else?"

"Well my buddies, they're giving me a pretty hard time at the moment for being a little late. If you don't mind, could we take a photo together? I'd like to make them a little jealous. They're stuck in the office and I'm here with such a kind and caring woman..." I carry the words out in my coolest, most clear tone.

"Uh...ehehe...I mean...yeah I guess. Hopefully this doesn't upset your coworkers too much." She looks away nervously after speaking, ahaha...that's cute. I take the change and place it in my pocket and pull out my phone.

"So i'll just raise my phone up and take the photo if that's cool. You can do whatever pose you want, I don't mind!" I smile while speaking, those guys aren't gonna expect seeing this!

"Uuu...yeah ok... Any pose?"

"Any at all!" I pull the phone up above our faces and smile. The shopkeep gets into frame and I start the count down.
"Alright! 3! 2! 1!"

Ahh...it's really great being me sometimes. I look over at my photo partner, she's covering her face while walking back to the counter.
"Thanks! This is...perfect!" I head for the exit and to face the judgement of my fellow Ministry members.

"Oh sir! Sir! Don't forget your box!" Ahhh...right. I came here for the food! I turn back around and see the woman standing right in front of me.

"Th-thanks! Would be a bit silly of me to not bring along right? Well I'll be off then!"

"Of course~" She does a curtsy and smiles. Wow she's really got a smile on her! Sorry old man...I think I like this employee a bit more than you! I turn around and head for the door.

"Hey!" She shouts out. Did I forget something else?

"Yeah? What's up?"

"I'm the only one here today, I'll be closing... If you maybe wanna come back later..." She's smiling, her brow is slightly lowered her eyes staring into my soul. Damn... she looks...amazing! Such confidence! I like it! I'm impressed!

"I'll hold you to those words!" I shout back as I head out the door. They're gonna flip their shit! Serves you bastards right for rushing me. I walk down the street to our office and head inside. There they all are, waiting for me in the recreation section.

"You're late dude!" My chaotic friend shouts.

"Yeah I am, my bad! Here! I brought some goodies for you guys to make up for it." I set the pastry box down on the table, laughing quietly and bowing in apology. Everyone grabs something and begins to return back to their work except for my eccentric friend.

"Goodies huh?"

"Aww c'mon, it's my treat!"

"Fine...I'll get some tea started. Your schedule ready at least?"

"Yeah...yeah I just gotta upload it. Hope they don't feel too bad for waiting until Sunday. I like having it out by Saturday night so..."

"They'll accept your apology. You somehow are always forgiven. Hell this donut I'm eating is proof I've forgiven you."

"Ahaha, I'm glad to have earned your forgiveness!"

"So what took you so long anyways?"

"Well I..y'know... got to talking to the shopkeep lady."

"Ohhhh? And what does that entail Krono?"

"Ahh nothing...just..." I trail off, pulling my phone out and loading the picture up. I show it to Hakotaro. The green haired girl in the kimono is kissing me on the cheek.

"You... UGH GUYS! LOOK! LOOK AT THIS HIMBO! BRINGING SHAME TO THE MINISTRY!!! GUYSSSSSSSS!!!" He runs off, gathering everyone. Ahahahaha... shouldn't have rushed me buddy!

I look at my watch. 9am...We have a fun day ahead of us don't we.
