A Comprenhensive Study of the Warrior Monks

Please remember that, while this scroll aims to further the understanding of the /brrats/, it is not infallible, as the monk's tactics are everchanging and adaptable, thanks to the friendly relationships they seek to build. Instead, use the information here as a warning of why one should not cross them.

Fighting Style and Gear

The monks of Chaos possess a unique and interesting fighting style, developed in the harsh mountains and forest they inhabit. This fighting style revolves around two principles. The first one is Movement with Purpose. To move is to change, to alter the current state of the world, that, in itself, is chaos.
But to move with Purpose not only is to create Chaos, but to wield it as a weapon, to influence the world with actions. Brrats fight in an acrobatic and seemingly chaotic fight style, developed in order to never give the enemy a clear shot, yet every movement is planned, analyzed and flows into each other with the intent of confusing the enemy in order to reach their weakpoints. The attackers soon finds themselves not only frustated at their inability to hit the enemy, but also tired and out of breath, bleeding for multiple small cuts accumulated over the course of the fight.

The second principle is The Principle of Redirection. If movement is Chaos, how is one expected to fight it if the enemy also produces it? The answer lies in the art of ''flowing'' alongside the chaos, to let it take you and influence you, but never to sweep you off your feet.
The monks do not wear armor nor they carry shields, the lances and staffs cant hope to cover them, which is why they redirect. The brrat style combines the moves of the user alongside the moves of their opponents in order to redirect the force of the blow with minimal energy, for stopping to block an attack is to stay still and let yourself be influentiated by the Chaos of the enemy, However, if one were to evade an attack at the last possible second, not only one is flowing with the chaos, but also letting the enemy get swept off their feet. Small blows to the hands, quick feints, long jumps and displays of flexibility allow the monks to neutralize the enemy offensive.
Of course, this is not an easy feat, For one misstep might end your life. The monks are fully aware of it, and yet they embrace the nature of their mortality as one would an old friend, with confidence and warmness.
In order to perform these feats, monks not only do they need to train themselves to the limit, but also to be as weightless as possible. Monks will travel with their clothes,a lantern, a skin full of water, a ''tail'' (A grappling hook used to traverse treacherous terrain), a staff or lance which can be repurposed for other duties and a set of knives. Everything else, the mountain will provide.

The Four warrior orders

Every single member of the order is able to fight to some degree, and are expected to come in aid of defense of the monastery in one way or another. The members must decide to join one of three orders, with the members of the fourth order selected amongst the elites of the other three. However, if one desires to abandon his military duties and instead live a life of research and or philosophy, its encouraged to do so, after all, only those who wish to fight are welcome in the battlefield
A member of The Whiskers

The Whiskers: The monks of Chaos make for excellent diplomats. Only they are able to both mediate a conflict peacefully AND to end the conflict before it becomes a problem-Inhabitant of /who/
The whiskers are the most commonly known members of the brrat. They are usually seen outside the mountain, travelling, or at the foot of the mountain, wandering and training. Their function is to inform the order, by learning, spiying or assesing the enemy. They are a quick and numerous order which rarely enters combat, which is why they are also sent as envoys, peace negociators and/or scholars. For a brrat, learned knowledge is not wasted knowledge. They have no particular characteristics but they are great at disengaging the enemy and concealing their trail. They do not have a war cry, but its common to hear the phrase ''Dont talk where a rat lurks''
A member of the Tail Order
The Tail: I sleep soundly in the woods of the rrat monastery, since i know no beast or man will be able to sneak past the monk currently watching my every move- Merchant from Candy Kingdom
The first line of defense of the brrats, the Tails are members specialized in guerrilla warfare, hazards and traps. Their goal is to wear down the enemy, to hostigate and bring discord to their target, by ''tripping them'' like a rat would. The members train every day in the woods and slopes of the mountain, perfecting their climbing and disguise abilities. These come in handy for ambushes, as they will usually drop from the trees, below the rivers or from the shadows themselves. They carry short swords and incendiary concoctions, but they are most commonly known for using ropes and caltrops.
They dont have war cries, as they prefer to scream and utter profanities in order to scare the enemy, however a very popular sound is WHOOLAY
A member of the Claw Order

The Claws: Fighting uphill is hard, fighting uphill in a stair is gruesome, fighting uphill in a stair of the rrat monastery is a suicide- Moriji mercenary
The claws are the main fighting force of the brrats, and unlike their Tail brothers, they are dispatched from the Monastery to strategic points by the elders. Their members are strong warriors trained in a multitude of weapons ,but specialized in lances and Bows. Like all of the brrats, they fight defensive battles, holding off key strategic points like stairs or crashing into the enemy from the trees. While many people agree that they wouldnt be intimidating on open fields, very few can claim they wouldnt be scared of clashing against a squad of Claws in the treacherous stairs of the monastery. They have a strong discipline and hellish training, so as a result they usually tend to be less philosophical compared to their peers.

One of ''The Fangs'' fighting with a burning Chain

The Fangs: Once we breached the gates, we expected old men and children armed with knifes, instead we came face to face with literal demons wielding all sort of weapons. I remember one getting stabbed and still downing three men before biting the dust- Notes of a Diying Man
The Fangs are the last line of defense of the monastery, and are a elite force compromised from members of the orders. Even amongst brrats, they fanatism is legendary, and their strenght is undoubted. As the elite of the elite, they are put under the harshest of training, and are expected to give their lifes for the order. They are trained in almost every weapon one under the sun, as they are expected to kill the enemy and take their weapons, but knifes and Kusariganas or other similar weapons are preferred. Before Any battle, every single members buries their own necklace, with the belief that they are already dead, and winning the battle is the only way to come back to life.
