this will be a summerised version cuz im fat and lazy

backstory
so when the shell came back to tayvat, it just did what its purpose was. (guide humanity through healing & teaching them about the human body) But during one of the times it was helping people, its abilities were noticed by dottore & it intrigued him. So he got some of the fatui workers to stalk and learn about her. Soon they found out about her abilities and her limits. So dottore found a loophole and told her that if it helped him she would be helping humanity , and that didnt go against her purpose, so it agreed. the shell stayed at dottore's labs as he conducted grueling experiments on it, taking its abilities for granted. That is where the shell met scaramouche. Scaramouche didnt care about the shell, why would he. But during one of dottore's experiments that reqired 2 parties, scaramouche's conciousness managed to enter the shell's conciousness. That is when yoka met scaramouche. The consciousness scaramouche found himself in was in a forgotten Japanese village that sits beneath a pale, empty sky. Straw-roofed houses stand along overgrown paths beside still, weed-filled rice paddies. Far beyond the fields, tall mountains loom over the village. It seemed so close yet so far. with nothing to do , scaramouche explored the place. the rows of strawhouses seemed endless, he destroyed rows of strawhouses until he stopped in front of one. it looked the same as the rest but something told him not to destroy this house. So he went in and saw yoka curled up with her knees to her chest, asleep. knowing that she was probably the only key to getting out of this place, he poked her awake. After the shocked weared off , she told him about this place , about the shell and how she knows about the shell's actions and how she can feel the pain dottore had inflicted onto her. Scaramouche couldnt care less, he just wanted to get out of here. But she couldnt even leave this place, how could he? so he had no choice but to wait it out. Until his physical body was reset by dottore and he was back. Although he was glad to be out, he couldnt stop comparing the shell to yoka. They looked the exact same except , the shell had a halo yoka didnt. As the days followed, dottore continued conducting the experiment with the shell and scaramouche, Which lead yoka to meet scaramouche more often. During their visits , they would sometimes spar , do farming or talk. As the number of visits increases, the membrane connecting their conciousness together becomes thinner and thinner. Until the point that even without the experiment, he is able to go into her conciousness , usually via dreams.

However, after scaramouche was defeated against traveller, they lost contact. yoka was confused and upset since she thought he had abandoned her. Even though he deleted himself from irminsul, yoka still remembered everything about him. her conciousness was not registered as a being from tayvat but an anomaly, hence nothing was erased from her memory. When scaramouche came back as wanderer, he also remembered yoka and sought help from nahida to save her.

Wanderer went to dottore's lab to retrive the shell and nahida managed to connect all 4 of their conciousness (traveller nahida wanderer shell) together via irminsul. But this time when they went into the shell's conciousness there were many villagers walking around, not doing anything just walking. They started walking , trying to find yoka. They searched the houses one by one. Everything had been going smoothly until they stepped out of one of the houses. The moment they did, the people walking along the path suddenly stopped. One by one, they turned toward them. And stared. The shell's conciousness had found them and recoginsed them as an anomaly. Then a chase began . The 3 of them ran until they were safe. only then did they notice they reached the moutain that once looked so far away. As they entered the cave inside the moutain they found yoka. curled up against the rocks. After the shock nahida told her that the shell actually has a built in programmed "conciousness" of the shell. (yoka's physical body has a conciousness. the shell contains yoka's physical body's conciousness and the shell's conciousness which is under the order of rhinedottir. ) All they had to do was to find that conciousness of the shell awaken it and leave. This would bypass the rules as a technically there is still a conciousness awake inside the shell. ok blah blah they find it and yay yoka is free.
