Finding Music for Your Bump
Having trouble finding music for your bump? Don't know where to start? Here's some tips:
Pick a song you enjoy
First things first, pick a song that you enjoy. The music doesn't have to follow some theme or format; we're all just having fun and how you make your bump is entirely up to you, granted that you follow the general rules.
Check Soundcloud
For starters, if you're looking for chill music, check out the "lofi.hiphop" tag. The "ambient" tag also has some neat songs as well.
Sorting by "recent tracks" on soundcloud can lead you down a rabbit hole very quickly! Browse at your own peril!
Try to find niche tags on songs from big creators. There you'll find tracks similar to that creator or song (and can safely sort by recent). When you find a song you like, you can use yt-dlp to download it. Just do yt-dlp <soundcloud link>
and yt-dlp will handle the rest for you.
Identifying Music in Bumps
Please refrain from asking for sauce without doing your own reps. Try to find the song on your own first, then ask.
If the sauce isn't in the filename or somewhere in the post, then consider using a music identification service. A few are given below.
- Use Shazam, SoundHound, or uploading the audio to Aha Music for unidentified songs.
- If you still can't find anything, then ask the thread for help.
Tips for Success
- Take your time: Double-check your work for errors.
- Remember to have fun: Enjoy the creative process and the community.
- If you need help, you can always ask in the thread
