General Equipment
katana, wakizashi, composite recurved bow (think Mongol Bow), unfletched wooden arrows
General Elemental Applications
Wind: Wind can empower the cutting/piercing power of attacks or increase reach (even turning a melee attack ranged)
Fire: Fire is primarily used to spread waves of flame or add an explosive factor to an attack
Wind + Fire: As fire is naturally strong against wind, Nobutake can further enhance the power and/or range of his fire techniques with intense wind or add a furious flare to his wind techniques.
Jutsus
Name: Iaijutsu
Type: Taijutsu (Weapon Style: Lazy Waterfall Style)
Description:
A style in which Nobutake holds his bow in his left hand and nothing in his right, allowing him to effortlessly switch between leaning forward to prepare using Iai techniques or to quickly draw his bow. Iaijutsu techniques can be and are usually used with other styles, so long as Nobutake can (sheathe if needed and then) draw his sword or has the time to properly fire his bow.
Name: Iaijutsu: Sever
Type: Taijutsu (Weapon Arts: Kenjutsu + Rupture Style)
Nature: Yang (can be modified with elements)
Description:
The staple technique of delivering a powerful chakra-enhanced slash by the samurai. This technique has been further honed by the Fujiwara to use less chakra for equivalently potent strength, requiring extreme focus to channel chakra only along the blade AND as the blade is drawn so as to not cut through its sheathe.
Name: Iaijutsu: Full Draw
Type: Taijutsu (Weapon Arts: Kyujutsu + Rupture Style)
Nature: Yang (can be modified with elements)
Description:
An adaptation of Iaido: Sever that uses a bow. While it requires less chakra and focus to fire a chakra-enhanced arrow, it does require Nobutake to fully draw his bow string. It is somewhat slower than swinging his sword or much slower when switching from his low-leaning forward stance to a proper archery stance. Nobutake uses this technique when he has the time to safely do so, such as when his opponents are at a range they cannot quickly close.
Name: Senpu (Whirlwind Style)
Type: Taijutsu (Weapon Style: Playful Cloud Style)
Nature: Wind
Stats:
Description:
A style in which Nobutake holds his bow in his left hand and a reverse-gripped wakizashi in his right. While his arrows cannot be fired as strong, he is able to defend himself much better with his wakizashi, chakra-enhanced for increased reach. Senpu style is usually used when Nobutake is facing opponents faster than his draw speed, focusing on dodging, blocking, and occasionally counterattacking with his wakizashi. If his opponent makes a mistake and is open, usually when they overextend or get tired, he throws his wakizashi above him or at his opponent (or just sheaths it normally), then prepares to use Iaijutsu techniques.
Name: Senpu: Reaping Whirl
Type: Taijutsu (Weapon Style: Playful Cloud Style + Rupture Slash)
Nature: Wind
Description:
Nobutake spins quickly and delivers a slash all around him with his wakizashi. The amount of revolutions increases depending on his momentum; for example, using wind utility jutsu to help at a standing position can make one revolution. Reaping Whirl can be used at any position and is especially useful in the air, since the ground is not slowing him down with friction and can propel him quickly towards the direction of his spin.
Name: Neppa (Heatwave Style)
Type: Taijutsu (Weapon Style: Howling Mountain Style)
Nature: Fire
Description:
A style in which Nobutake holsters his bow on his back and wields his katana with both hands, fully focused on using Kenjutsu and only using his bow if the enemy is too far or if it's to begin an engagement. Neppa Style is an aggressive and wilder fighting style meant to complement Nobutake's understanding of Fire Nature Chakra. Most of his attacks in this style are enhanced with fire chakra, spreading flames around the battlefield with each swing of his blade. His relentless attacks, on top of the panic the flames and heat can cause, are meant to overwhelm his opponents and make openings for him to use Iaijutsu.
Name: Fujiwara-Style: Lion Dance
Type: Ninjutsu (Chakra Flow + Rupture Slash)
Nature: Copies Original Technique
Description:
Nobutake leaves a trail of chakra from his attacks, invisible to the naked eye, that can repeat the same attacks in the same location relative to him. While the chakra trail can be activated at any time, it does require some focus and leaves him open (if just for a split second) so it is usually performed at the end of attacks (for example, as he is sheathing his sword; providing the ability to prepare another Iaijutsu strike while not leaving him open to an attack). This is also naturally a chakra-intensive technique, so short attacks are most compatible. It is possible to reactivate the same trail repeatedly.
Name: Sidewinder
Type: Ninjutsu (Weapon Art: Kyujutsu + Utility Jutsu)
Nature: Wind
Description:
Nobutake uses wind chakra to alter an arrow's trajectory mid-flight, harsher turns require slightly more chakra and room to bend. Useful for making unexpected strikes or following up in melee for a pincer.
Name: Spiral
Type: Ninjutsu (Weapon Art: Kyujutsu + Utility Jutsu)
Nature: Wind
Description:
Nobutake uses wind chakra to increase an arrow's rotation, offering increased range, power, and/or accuracy.
Name: Jubilant Procession
Type: Ninjutsu (Utility Jutsu)
Nature: Wind
Description:
Nobutake surrounds himself in a swirling wind and flies towards a desired direction. This can simultaneously serve as a good way to close the gap with a thrusting attack or to fall back for an arrow bombardment.
Name: Cloud Step
Type: Ninjutsu (Utility Jutsu)
Nature: Wind
Description:
Nobutake uses wind chakra to make a burst of wind beneath his feet, allowing him to "walk" on air. This offers him an extra degree of maneuverability and agility.
