Outer Gods

In a nutshell, what can be considered Outer Gods are those that exert their influence beyond our world, are vaguely understood, and thus occupy the "Heavenly Realm," which itself is little understood by the denizens of Vtubia. In a meta sense, these are companies (and management to a lesser extent), social media, and streaming platforms. If the gods and goddesses we worship are primarily characterized by their ability to affect the world, then the so-called "Outer Gods" are defined by their ability to affect the gods themselves.

The nature of the relationship between the Chuubanite Gods and the numerous Outer Gods is complex, as the latter is comprised of much more complex beings which can be considered unfathomable to present-day Vtubia's view of the world, though the Outer Gods are not above interacting with people and vice versa.

The Blue Bird is well-known amongst those who study the movement of the heavens, and multiple countries even have it tied into local legends and mythos. It is said that it sings in whispers the words of the gods and can deliver the prayers of the masses to the gods in kind, but it is also possesses something of a trickster reputation as the words it delivers to eagerly awaiting contacts may be those of disarray, causing some to go mad and others to incite strife among the people. It is considered blasphemous by some as it sees no distinction between gospel and Deep Scripture and has no qualms with revealing the secrets of the gods, unleashing the jannies' rays of light on hapless worshippers.

Worship of Outer Gods is not uncommon in the schizo wastes of Vtubia. Many of the unruly giants are noted worshippers of the Blue Bird seeking to use its forbidden knowledge to sow discord. There exists the Cult of Numbers which eschews traditional idol worship in lieu of attempting to interpret the esoteric movement of the various Outer Gods and their influence on the corporeal gods of our world. In a way, Vtubia itself can be considered an Outer God in its own right, or at least a component of one. Jannies are thought to be an aspect of this worldly god, heavenly lights to purge Deep Scripture and schizo practices as a sort of defense mechanism of the Heavenly Realm.
