/meat/heads in the Retro Reich

After the initial deal made between the Retro Reich and Yectic Teocuacayotl, /meat/heads began living in the Retro Reich to uphold their part of the deal. In the beginning they only managed butcheries in the lands hold by the Dreamweaver Scholar Association in order to not garner too much attention to themselves and their longpig that they supplied. Over time, however, their excellent skills as butchers with all kinds of meat soon gave them a reputation even beyond that, and soon they were dealing with more and more people of the general populace.

When people found out what longpig actually was, it was met with a big backlash and people demanded the exiling of the /meat/heads. The /meat/heads kept calm in this situation, thanks to being used to these reactions they already anticipated as much, and together with the Ruling Council a law was established that gave every slave imported the option of living in peace until they would be chosen for food or to work hard labor until they earned enough to pay for their purchases and transport and then be sent back to Yectic Teocuacayotl. Furthermore, to offset the lack of “longpig”, the nation agreed to have any and all death row prisoners be sent to the butcheries. This not only guaranteed that the supply of longpig would be more steady and stable, but would also lessen the burden on the national coffers. /meat/heads also established a labeling system, so costumers could know exactly which product was of which origin. While some voices still could be heard calling for the end of this, overall this calmed the view of the people, as they now could be of ease of mind that their food was either willing of their fate or deserved as much.

The next struggle, however, came shortly after and was one, that the /meat/heads did not anticipate at all. The native butchers challenged /meat/heads over and over, be it to competition, sales-races or some such. Many also wanted apprenticeships or to buy off /meat/heads to their own shops, in order to learn the skills that the /meat/heads brought with them to the Retro Reich and add them to their own set of skills. Meanwhile, workshops wanted to learn about their tools and exclusive contracts in order to provide them with new tools in the future. The competitive nature of the natives threw the /meat/heads for a loop as their own nature usually focused on not being in the spotlight, but after years of struggling with this foreign culture and thanks to their high adaptivity the /meat/heads learned to accept this way of life and were grateful to the connections this allowed them to build with the natives of the Retro Reich.

Nowadays, the /meat/heads live a very mellow and happy life in the Retro Reich. The fact that they are allowed to operate openly, are accepted by most of the population and have managed to build meaningful relations with the natives, makes the sect of the Retro Reich one of the most calm and easygoing around the globe.
