Aetheria perspective on Phase War and TL

Essentially, this war ruins our nation, leads to the new short-lived empire of Diastima, and the ultimate collapse sometime in the 1130s and 1140s. We would revolt several times during the war, and chose what to do with this knowledge, it likely leads to many deaths.

Timeline:

December 25th, 1088: Emperor Alexandros IV Blachernites dies without a male heir, the leading two candidates are his illegitimate brother, Theophilos II Blachernites and his first cousin, Philippos III of Syndeoneia.
1089: Themes of Loumikon and Amareis declare their support for Philippos while the rest for Theophilos. Theophilos is crowned Emperor, and Philippos occupies Loumikon and Amareis in the summer.
1090: Philippos defeats Theophilos in Battle three times and ultimately captures him. On October 31st, he declares himself "Emperor of all Antiocheians, Syndeoneians and Aylakkayolians" in Theologopolis. Theophilos is executed.
1090-94: Consolidation of power by Philippos, including integrate of the army and fleet of the Empire.
June 1st, 1095: Philippos, desiring lost territory from /voms/ issues an ultimatum to them to return the lands or face war. It goes unheaded and he leads an army into /voms/.

Suggestions:
How you want 774 to be in this is up to you, I would imagine Philippos is smarter that we thought and perhaps it is 774 that attacks first or leaks information that causes him to attack.
