Just like the passive effects of other chuubanites affecting the populace of their respective threads (the best example being /morig/ chuubanite which, if I have understood correctly, slowly turns one into a deadbeat), /nasfaqg/ chuubanite also affects those who come into contact with it. However, since the populace of /nasfaqg/ is comprised of those from among the many other human and humanoid races of /vt/-world, the change cannot be a physical one.

Instead, /nasfaqg/ chuubanite affects those who come into contact with it in a different, less obvious way: The passive magical radiation emanating from it, and the trace amounts of it in the air of the Serene Republic, affect sentient beings psychologically.

/nasfaqg/ chuubanite intensifies one's needs and wants. It passively empowers the grip greed, lust, ambition, and other similar needs/wants have on sentient beings. The effect is not great unless one indulges in the substance, or embraces their needs/wants, and keeping the intensified feelings in check is doable, although resisting may get increasingly more difficult as one spends longer times in close proximity with the chuubanite or consumes more of it.

Furthermore, for one to be affected at all by the passive effects, they would need to have those needs/wants to begin with. The passive radiation of /nasfaqg/ chuubanite alone is unable to create new wants or needs.

The best example is nasfaqg citizens themselves: The chuubanite intensifies their greed for gold, their ambition to achieve recognition and dominance over the market, their wish to beat their rivals, their lust and hunger for flesh in both implied ways, their yearning for true love, and heir faith in their native or chosen deity.
Ofc, not all of the nasfaqg citizens are affected by all the things mentioned. Some feel no desire for the physical pleasures, others have no deities to worship, while others have given up on love altogether.

The chuubanite would affect the peoples of other nations as well. A risuner who came to visit may find themselves particularly lusty after a day or two, a /meat/ head may find his beliefs become increasingly more fanatical, and his conviction to the cause of the /meat/ cult strengthened, hungry travelers will find the food tasting ever so slightly better than it should, and the craving for more lasting a bit longer than it normally would. This is how nasfa/ck/ happens. A warmonger will feel his ambition to become a great conqueror become amplified, and/or his bloodlust deepen.

Also, I had the idea of the chuubanite (at least in its pure form) seeming different based on which sorts of wants or needs you are currently being affected by:

To those affected by greed, the chuubanite will appear as a shiny golden gem which glows with a warm golden light, and glitters like the stars.

Those affected by ambition or pride may see the chuubanite object as a royal purple gem, which feels almost electric to the touch. Holding the chuubanite object will make them feel more confident.. and reckless.

For lusty people, the pbject appears as a pink gem, and it has an intoxicating floral scent. If they touch the object, they will feel it pulsing in sync with their own heart.

Those who desire blood or the death oftheir enemies will see the object as a black stone, resembling volcanic glass, with red streaks running through it. The object is hot to the touch, but not so much that it would hurt.

The romance-starved will see the object as a red gem that feels warm to the touch, and gives them a warm fuzzy feeling when held. But the feeling will be faint, not enough to make one content or happy, but enough to deepen one's want for more.

and those who are led by faith, the object will appear as pure white, glowing with a light that is associated with their dearest of deities. If they listen carefully, they may hear the object whispering to them in a voice they perceive as their chosen deity's. The words are silent and unintelligible, but they intensify the zeal of the listener.

To those who are unaffected by wants or needs, the object simply appears as a cloudy light blue or grey gem that glows with a pale white light.

These changes are all hallucinations induced by the effects of the chuubanite, and only exist to the one who is interacting with the object. Also, the hallucinations would kick in only in close proximity to the object, with higher concentrations affecting from further away. If one would take a photo of the chuubanite object, the object would in the photo look like it would to those unaffected by wants or needs; as a cloudy light blue or grey gem, glowing with a faint light.

The psychological effects are poorly understood, if they are understood at all. The chuubanite appearing different to different people is understood, and some may use the way the chuubanite appears to someone as something akin to horoscopes.
