Harawata Climate and Geology Overview

Notice: I am not an expert on climate or geology. The climate model in this case is the colder one and is a general overview that any detailed map can obviously change somewhat. Any differing opinions will be considered and changed if possible.

Climate

QRD on the Letters present:
C =In the coolest month, the mean temperature in the subtropical zone is around 8 C (46 F) while in the hottest months mean temperatures are in the 26.5 C (80 F) range.
F = Without dry season
A = Hot summer, warmest month averages at least 22 °C (71.6 °F),
B = Warm summer, warmest month averages below 22 °C (71.6 °F) but at least four months averages above 10 °C (50.0 °F).

Saineshima

As per the writer's own request and per the cooler climate model (it could go Cfa, but Cfb was chosen.), the island is Oceanic and honestly, this reminds me of good old Great Britain, but less rainy perhaps in terms of the climatology.

Nekokajun-hantō

This is Humid Subtropical and resembles the Southern United States with its rain and generally pleasant climate. Perfect for cash crops, and just relaxing in the sunny assuming its not too humid. I think this peninsula has many marshes personally.

Geology

Saineshima is an frustrating I mean interesting island to determine the geology of because it is not only my beloved extended crust, also is on a passive margin and its an island... There are very little places of remotely the same size as Saineshima that are like this, and the only one that I was able to get information on was Sakhalin. We are fortunately to have a Russian in the project to tell me what this island's resources were like. With that being said, the island will be sedimentary rock based, clastic conglomerate along with some carbonates, in my own opinion. It probably is an excellent place for farming, and the natural resources it has beyond wood would be coal, petroleum, iron, tin in decent quantities, but also with gold, mercury, platinum, germanium, chromium, talc, zeolites, silver, arsenic. Note: Take the resources I give you as a guideline and not a fact. Most of the oil for example is probably off shore and I don't think the coal is much better than lignite.

Nekokajun-hantō also is on extended crust and I would expect it to be similar to Saineshima but different because I am using Louisiana as a basis for it. It will also have fertile soil, excellent for agriculture and probably the same minerals as the island. But there is potential for SALT DOMES that shouldn't missed out on.

Final Thoughts

This is just basic and general information, more detailed geology and climatology is something that can be done later and included in the lore document of Harawata.
