The family has just gotten back from Disneyland, returning to the home of her cousin as they finally wrapped up their holiday weekend.
After a sobering memorial service, Kronii needed some relaxation to keep her mind away from thoughts of existential dread.
The adults spent the remaining time for some last minute conversation, drinking on cheap Californian red wine and chit chatting on their day to day life.
Kronii nestled herself on the cheap polyester sofa chair that was in the corner, headphones in while she played some Animal Crossing.
"Oh didn't you hear? Kronii's finally earning a stable income!," her mother crows out, with an arm wrapped around her father's neck. Kronii could feel a dozen eyes falling on her.
"She's apparently a big name streamer now! Earning thousands per month!," her mother continued, much to the awe and surprise from the rest of the extended family.
Kronii felt her cheeks heated up, her eyes starting to water. She hated this.
"Woooow Kronii! Girl you're really moving up in the wurrrld," her cousin shoved her ass next to Kronii on the cramped seat, she was the relative she disliked the least.
"That's good to hear Kronii, to earn so much money now. It's nice to hear your 'voice acting' career is taking off!," her aunt said with her smug and Karen like attitude, this was the same women who'd use Kronii as an example to her cousin on what NOT to do.
Everyone else did the same, offering their congratulations and their empty platitudes. Kronii knew that none of them were sincere. They changed their tune if her time in hololive didn't pan out.
'I miss my Kronies.' she thinks to herself, when she first started she was distant with her audience. In her mind they were a mercurial and faithless mass who'd drop her if they knew the real 'Kronii', but after 3 months she decided to let them in, they were at least a lot more honest than her family.
She wanted to leave now, go back to streaming. It would help her forgot this awful memory for a time.
