Sophie Latimer was once a reluctant hero, born in the countryside to kind yet hardworking parents who made a simple living tending to crop. Unlike her background, she was a prodigy in the making. One talented in telepathic blessings, yet like the outgoing bumpkin that she was, it was easy for her to make friends even without mental suggestion. She would eventually go on to have a long yet fruitful career in the IDPA, hunting down her fellow mages as the "Shinigami". So effective were her methods that it would be like trying to escape death itself. And rather than live in peace, the lessons instilled in her long ago pushed her towards reincarnation. To help reuse these powers that have helped so many before. She sealed away all but the happiest memories of her friends and family, and started anew as a completely different identity.
Pheobe Hallewell is not so similar. Reborn in the hanging city to much stricter parents, the potential she holds weighs heavy on her. Rather than a reminder of her happiest moments and why she kept on fighting, the memories of a life she never lived were a burden, a painful reminder of what she lost by taking on this responsibility. She never asked to be a skilled mage. But like her life before, she reluctantly accepted the blessings given to her. If not for all the mundane, then at the very least for her past self.
Phie is not the role model hero she once was. Hardly does she speak, and often only when necessary. She's not fond of the company of other mages, instead hiding away in the crowds of normal people, or along forgotten crannies, speaking with who remain and guiding them to a peaceful afterlife. She joined the Outdoorsmanship club to try and understand her previous life's fondness of her old home. Sometimes the emotions of her old memories so overwhelming as to require her to drain them away to avoid conflict. Like a ferryman carrying the restless to the other side, so too shall she bring peace, one way or another.
Power Summary
Defensively, Phie's blessings allow her to move and react incredibly quickly, or become incorporeal through her spectral form. Should she be hit, she has increased toughness and willpower to keep fighting even while damaged. Offensively, she can launch life-draining leeches, or use her enhanced strength to improve her melee capabilities with the scythe. Her main form of conflict resolution was to Thought Seer and Power Sight to find the weaknesses of her enemy, and use illusions and emotions from Masquerade, Psychic Vampire, and Master Telepath to make them concede, or at least slow them down enough to go for the kill. She does not have access to her Xuth sigils yet.
