Method 2:

If you tried ttv lol as mentioned in pinned messages, but didn't work try this:

Until the changes from PR #96 are approved and merged into the upstream branch, you have to manually download the code from that pull request and load it as an unpacked extension.

For Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge:

  1. Download the code from PR #96 using this link: https://github.com/cleanlock/VideoAdBlockForTwitch/zipball/pull/96/head
  2. Unzip the chrome folder from the archive.
  3. Go to the Extensions page by entering chrome://extensions in a new tab.
  4. Enable Developer Mode by clicking the toggle switch next to Developer mode.
  5. Click the Load unpacked button, and select the chrome extension directory you unzipped earlier.

Sorry for the delay. The process isn't as straightforward, and I don't use Firefox myself. But I figured it out.

For Mozilla Firefox:

  1. The regular version of Firefox doesn't let you override the setting to enforce the extension signing requirement, so you need to install Firefox Browser Developer Edition: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/developer/
  2. Download the code from PR #96 using this link: https://github.com/cleanlock/VideoAdBlockForTwitch/zipball/pull/96/head
  3. Unzip the contents of the firefox folder from the archive.
  4. Select the loose files and folders (icons\, popup\, background.js, content.js, and manifest.json), then right-click, and choose Compress to Zip file.
  5. Go to the Advanced Preferences page in Firefox by typing about:config in the address bar. You will be prompted to Accept the Risk and Continue.
  6. Search for xpinstall.signatures.required and toggle that setting to false. N.B.: Disabling the signing requirement is a security risk, because it helps protect Firefox against malicious add-ons.
  7. Go to the Extensions page by typing about:addons in the address bar.
  8. Drag and drop the Zip file you created earlier onto the Extensions page. You will be prompted to add the unverified extension.

Method 3: 1: Install Greasemonkey/violentmonkey of the chrome webstore/firefox addon store/microsoft edge webstore/opera addon store
2: install https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/462642-re-twitch

Disclaimer: method 3 results sometimes in twitch preparing stream or ad is playing message.

Methodes are verified working since the last update of this message April 2023. Twitch ads are constantly evolving and changing which makes that nothing js guaranteed
