the 100 takes place in 2149 where we begin the episode on the ark, a space station that was formed from 12 smaller country-based stations. 100 delinquents are sent to earth due to the ark being on oxygen support. the pilot episode is a great introductory to our main characters. but it's also neat to note there are a few that WEREN'T supposed to become apart of the main cast. notable mentions are jasper jordan, who was supposed to die after being speared, raven reyes who was supposed to die in season one for the "drama effect," miller, who was only supposed to be significant in season one, but most importantly lexa, who did in fact die but haunted the narrative in such a massive way that it blows my mind. there are so many more too, as the writers often give characters stronger roles after proving themselves.

the 100 is supposed to land on mount weather because they could find supplies there, but due to earth orbiting, they landed on a neighboring mountain. this is important because it means the 100 is now without supplies.
