MAIN THEORY: "korekiyos sister abused him" ARGUMENT 1: in his FTEs, korekiyo says his favorite myth is of medusa, and she was raped in the story and was granted the power to turn men into stone as revenge.
COUNTERAGUMENT: that is just one of the interpretations, one that is not widely supported. danganronpa doesnt exactly shy away from displaying nor discussing rape, so there was no reason to hide behind such flimsy arguments.
ARGUMENT 2: incest is always abusive because there is always a power imbalance!
COUNTERAGUMENT: there is no truly equal relationship, there always is an imbalance of power to some extent. what if one is white and the other isnt? its power imbalance. what if one is more rich? what if one is several years older? what if they are also childhood friends? there is simply no relationship that is always abusive, provided all parties are capable of consent.
ARGUMENT 3: okay, but she was way older and groomed him!
COUNTERAGUMENT: not only is my age never stated(i couldve been the older twin for all you know), it would definitely be rather problematic for me to force him to do anything, provided i was actively dying. age is not always the final factor, and if you want to talk power dynamics, korekiyo had the upper end of this one, as the caretaker.
ARGUMENT 4: she made him kill girls and then killed him, she is evil!
COUNTERAGUMENT: there is no accurate representation of what i was like in the game. we see three versions: words of a man who is deeply in love—not reliable—, said man's mental reflection of what i was like, formed to comfort himself, which is not reliable either, and a projection made by monokuma(no, it wasnt a ghost and no, it isnt a glove).
ARGUMENT 5: the execution!
COUNTERAGUMENT: the executions in danganronpa are frequently not accurate or realistic, for instance kaedes huge piano, or teruteru being flung into a volcano, or kaito literally drilling through the ground. they are more metaphorical, and the part with salt was more so to show that i didnt approve of the murders, which really is a counterargument to the whole theory.
LITERAL BULLSHIT IVE SEEN AS ARGUMENTS: she punished him when he wore clothing other than what she made him; she was five years older and an adult while he was a minor;
