"When's your next stream?"
I would love to stream more often, but unfortunately I have more important things going on in my life right now, so I can't make any promises. Joining my Discord server is generally the best way to keep up with things.
"What do you think of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League? Are you gonna speedrun it?" (!ss or !suicidesquad)
I have no interest in playing the game whatsoever. I've written out my full thoughts on the game here (major spoilers).
The speedrun looks kinda boring. Maybe I'll consider trying it someday in the distant future, but forced online is a deal-breaker for now.
"Are you gonna play/stream/speedrun any other upcoming superhero games?"
I am generally interested in anything superhero related, but we haven't seen any gameplay for anything yet. Ask me again when we have.
As for speedrunning, regardless of whether the games are good or not, they could be bad speedruns for other reasons (unskippable cutscenes/dialog, could be too long, the optimal strats could just be boring, online features and game updates often complicate things, etc). You can't really know until people have had a few weeks to play around with it.
"What's your favourite game/movie/book/colour/cereal box design/etc?" (!fav)
I don't like to think too much about favourite things, I just like the things that I like. I think that mentality causes people focus way too much on constantly comparing everything, instead of simply enjoying things and appreciating them for what they are.
"Why do you sometimes speedrun in a language other than English?" (!spanish, !french, etc)
For speedrunning, sometimes it's faster to play games in a certain language, usually because of shorter text or dialogue. Which language is best and exactly how much of a difference it makes depends on the game/category.
"How do you rank the Arkham games? Which one's your favourite, casually or for speedrunning?"
For a really long time my favourite was City for both, but nowadays I appreciate all four games for different reasons and don't feel the need to compare them all the time. 6-7 years of competitive speedrunning has also completely warped my perception of things, so I don't think it would make sense for me to rank them at this point anyway.
"Do you play/run anything other than Batman?"
On stream I'm almost exclusively focused on Arkham speedruns, but I occasionally run other games. You can see everything I've ever run on my speedrun.com profile.
I only stream casual playthroughs on special occasions, but I play plenty of other games offline.
"Don't you get bored of playing Batman all the time?"
If I did, I wouldn't still be doing it multiple times a week! For me, speedrunning and having the goal of self-improvement breathes new life into games that I probably would never have a reason to play again otherwise. And if I do get tired of a particular game/category, there's three other games and dozens of other categories to choose from to switch things up.
"Have you ever considered speedrunning [insert cool game/series here]?"
Probably not. I'm not interested in learning any new speedruns right now.
"How was Spider-Man 2? Are you gonna speedrun it" (!sm2 or spiderman2)
It's very good. I have some minor gripes but overall very happy with it.
I will probably try speedrunning it eventually. Maybe next year.
How was Gotham Knights? Will you speedrun it again?
Overall I did mostly enjoy my first playthrough, but realistically it's a 6/10 at best and has almost zero replay value. The speedrun has no real speed tech and nobody cares about the game anymore. I don't think I'll ever play it again.
"Will you ever do Anthology 100%/All Achievements/other ridiculously long category?" (!12)
I am not attempting 12+ hour long runs anymore due to health concerns.
"Do you stream/make YouTube videos full-time?"
Absolutely not. I only make about 5% of what I'd need to even consider going full-time. I also don't think I'd want to even if it was an option. It's not exactly a stable career path, and as much as I enjoy it, I have more that I want to do with my life than just playing video games fast.
