i like bingjiu lots. shen jiu = die?

shen jiu’s backstory is one of the bleakest parts of svsss and people still flatten him into a one note antagonist, which completely ignores what shaped him. he starts as a child in extreme poverty, abused and degraded from the beginning. he doesnt know safety, affection, or stability. he grows up learning that suffering is normal and that kindness is not something he can expect from anyone. survival comes first, and it hardens him early. then he ends up under the control of the qiu household, where the power imbalance is horrible. he is exploited, trapped, and stripped of agency. he is treated as less than human, and he has no way out. those experiences do not disappear. when he finally enters the cultivation sect, it is not a fresh start. he is surrounded by people with status, education, and privilege he never had. he is constantly aware of being an outsider. the resentment and insecurity deepen because even in a place that should represent discipline and honor, he is still looked down on. the situation with yue qingyuan is the emotional core of it. shen jiu did have someone he trusted once, but he believes he was abandoned. whether or not that abandonment was intentional does not matter to him, because the damage is permanent. it reinforces the belief that relying on others leads to betrayal. by the time he becomes shen qingqiu, he is respected in title but hollowed out internally. he has no healthy way to connect, no practice with vulnerability, only defense and control. cruelty becomes a reflex because it is how he keeps distance between himself and the world that hurt him. his treatment of luo binghe is indefensible, but it comes from a lifetime of fear, bitterness, and distrust. shen jiu is not a pure victim, and he is not a simple villain. he is a person shaped by relentless abuse and isolation, and that is what makes him tragic.
