Yana
This unfortunate one wears a veil of crimson sadness. Her aura is one of death, blood, and somehow tragic beauty. She holds herself apart from what I have seen so far, but does so with a congenial air. I suspect her accursed blade has much to do with her situation. If it's corruption could be purged I think she would have a bright future ahead of her as I sense she walks the bloody path not out of great desire but instead because it was the another set her upon.
Tian's gift to her would be a scroll with the calligraphy: 冀
Ageratum
In my time outside of the All Truth Pavilion I have encountered many souls striving to find their way. His misguided ambition reveals much about his shallow soul, he has a staggering lack of virtue. It is truly disheartening to witness a fellow Taoist squander their potential. Rather than cultivate wisdom and benevolence he seeks the black path of the cult. I do what I can within the Sect to prevent his unethical behaviors taking root and work diligently to warn the local mortals of his tricks, traps, and scams. It is with sadness that I reflect upon him, his presence tarnishes that of the Open Sect. I lament, a part of my soul knows that if he does not turn from the black path he treads that it will be my blade that puts an end to his villainy once and for all.
Tian's gift to him would be a poem about the seasons changing, and allude to notions that its not too late to change ones path to that of the righteous. It would end on a hopeful note.
Shi Ren
Ren's brightest is like the sun at midday, it warms every room that he enters. While his pranks and tricks would be seen as impropriety by most, I see them as well-meaning and successful attempts at lightening the load of his fellow disciples. I have gained much listening to his stories, and I find myself turning to him for advice on a broad range of topics. It is a weight off my shoulders, finally having someone else to turn to. His aura is a pillar of life, of potential, and of hope.
Tian would struggle to find a gift for Shi Ren seeing that his true self is largely complete and robust on its own. As such he would merely offer Shi Ren to share a pot of his finest tea, humble though it may be.
Yue
I had read much on those who dedicate themselves to the Tao of Freedom prior to visiting the Open Sect and before meeting Yue I confess I did not hold them in the highest of esteem. From my studies it seemed those who followed the path did so as excuse for their vices, wanting to be unrestricted from the "shackles" of society that provide the structure and good order we all rely upon. I once believed our Taos were opposite and incompatible: Now that I have met this joyful young lady my views have shifted, and I think I have gained some small enlightenment. The path of right living is not in conflict to the Tao of Freedom, but instead freedom only informs and assists righteous word and deed. Only those free to choose, can choose rightly. Only through choice is self-discipline demonstrated.
Tian would gift her a painting of a flock of birds flying towards the horizon as the sun sets over a beach, with footprints left in the sand.
Shizi
A wise and powerful cultivator with boundless potential. While he still has much room for improvement in terms of, how do you say, self-care - he holds himself with dignity and his words ring loudly with truth and intent. If he would use his great power care for those less than he, I believe he could stand above us as a true paragon.
Tian's gift to him would be a scroll with the calligraphy: 责 or 保护
Hongxing
The path of right living is mankind's path to surpass the heavens so it is perhaps unfitting to judge a blade or dragon, whose purpose and being are so vastly different by the same standard. That said, this blade is more living curse than it is divine treasure. None of what I have read in the ancient texts suggest the sage dragons to be of such ill-temperament, foul and avaricious personality.
Tian would likely have brought her a nice sword oil or polish.
Zheng Yao
A saint and sage, a paragon and role model for us all. It is not for one such as I to judge the measure of one such as he.
Tian would gift him some incense or perhaps some calming scented candles.
Xu
Xu is a man who bears a noble heart. His aura, elusive and mysterious radiates to me a soft and warm kindness. Truthfully he reminds me much of home, his love of his Master makes me yearn to return to my own. If not for his complete disregard of proper etiquette and his enduring struggles with honesty he would fit in perfectly with the scholars of the All-Truth Pavilion.
Tian's gift would be a small sculpture of the Black Tortoise Guardian.
Zhou Yun
A man who seems lost, struggling against himself. His aura is one of death, yet subtle life. When I reflect on him, I see mankind's potential. A struggler, knee deep in a river of blood and yet maintaining at least the smallest spark of hope. For there must be a chance of redemption in the heart of the darkest devil if they write home so frequently. I suspect if he can cast of the shackles of his own arrogance he will soar above the heavens themselves. I only hope that as he grows in power, so to does he mature. In truth I find him endlessly curious, one who does not cultivate yet is able to touch upon the immensity of heaven and earth. I wonder if the All-Truth pavilion has records on men such as he.
Tian's gift to him would be a scroll with the calligraphy: 剑
Lady Wanroe
A queen, by all accounts better described as a despot or tyrant. That she has achieved such longevity and immense might is testament that there are myriad paths to achieve immortality. Her court is reputed to be amongst the finest within any realm but it goes to show the importance of modesty and moderation. Her very presence I suspect would be corrupting, tainting the Tao of more noble Taoists.
Tian's gift: Tian would gift her a small bouquet of local flowers. Something beautiful but would fade in time.
Zhimin
Compared to the gluttonous dragon blade, Zhimin is a paragon of virtue. Once again I find myself struggling to hold a blade to the same standards one ought expect from a gentleman. To her credit she does seem more or less to way the path of right living.
Tian's gift to her would be a small roll of silk cloth.
Alkaios
A man with a powerful and tremendously radiant aura, he is a bit of a fish out of water though for what small part of him I have seen I am impressed. He acts truly, with a true desire to see others improve and excel. He, much like Shi Ren provides a unique perspective on the nature of the world for which I am eternally grateful. He like I, believes in the unrestricted potential of man.
Tian's gift would be a scroll of handy tips, linguistics, etiquette, and other advice for living in the East.
Batudai
A man who does not seem to know his own heart, I sense a storm within him. His aura is dark and dreary, emanating a lonely chill. I have high hopes for this brother who seems to have set himself on a path of improvement and growth.
Tian's gift to Batudai would be a scroll with the calligraphy: 變
Sifu Zào Zhēn
Sifu is wise, kind, and patient. Her lessons on the Tao, are truly insightful and her elegance is unmatched under heaven. Her aura is that of the starry sky, boundless, deep, and unfathomable and yet, glistening with sparks of hope and joy. Sometimes I feel like she is disappointed in me, though even after speaking to her I cannot understand why. Perhaps she sees less potential in me than my most august peers.
Tian's gift would be a new calligraphy brush and ink well.
Gale
Master Yu used to say "To know ones self is to know the Tao, to live as oneself is to live the Tao". Master Yu would have liked Gale. While this young man lacks much in terms of proper attitude and behavior, the good nature of his spirit pervades everything he does. Like Brother Zhou Yun, I find him curious, one who does not cultivate and yet walks the path of the cultivator. It is to meet men such as he that we must venture forth from the cloisters of safety into the Jainghu.
Tian's gift to Gale would be a new set of clothing, light and fresh.
