You thought this story was made by a new anon, but it was me, Ribombee-anon. This was all a trick. I deceived you. It was me all along, Austin. April Fool’s.
I apologize to anyone who got hype about a new member joining the group. I hope the truth isn’t too disappointing for you. And I hope you still found enjoyment from this story, and can appreciate the twist.
Honestly, I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while—that is, create a new set of characters and start writing a PMD journey all over again. I wanted to do it partially for fun, but also so I could get more practice with introducing new characters and setting up a new storyline. I was originally planning to post it under my name, and I didn’t intend to trick people by pretending to be a new anon... but April Fool’s was coming up, and I saw the chance and took it.
If you’re curious about the Pokemon choices, I used Turtwig because it was the hero in my recent Super Mystery Dungeon replay, and Wattrel is based on a character from one of my other PMD story concepts. It involved a floating island inhabited by birds and ravaged by Zapdos. I never developed it very much, but I decided to throw a mention of it into this story, in the form of Thunderhead. You may also notice that the pairing of turtle/tortoise + bird is the same as Team Buckler, but that was actually a coincidence.
Right now, I don’t have plans to write more stories with Turtwig and Stormy, but I may draw them or write something with them in the future if I feel inspired enough. At the very least, I intend for them to exist in the world as background characters or NPCs, similar to Crabrawler or Taillow.
Thank you all very much for reading the story, and thanks to everyone who shared those kind words in the thread. Even though this was a ruse, I genuinely appreciate you reading this and sharing feedback, and it’s always nice to see people being positive and friendly whenever a new anon joins. That sort of supportiveness and camaraderie is one of the best aspects of the Clover Guild, and I hope that never changes.
