Ruka is a Japanese girl with long, chestnut hair and side swept bangs. Her eyes are the same light brown color, and a white collared shirt with a dark blue ribbon. She wears a beige cardigan and a black purse with golden clasps over one arm, and a yellowish-brown pleated miniskirt, as well as white crew socks and brown loafers.

Youhei Ninomiya (荷宮 洋平) is a student participating in the Session Two killing game featured in Tetro Danganronpa: BLUE. His title is the Ultimate Violinist. Within the session, he is designated as Student Two.

Youhei is a Japanese boy with a tall height and slim build. His hair is white, long, and messy of unknown height, as well as streaked with hot pink, vivid green, light yellow, and vivid blue in the inner layer of his hair and on his bangs which are split in the middle, though the right bangs appear more voluminous. He has some loose sidelocks hanging on the right shoulder. His narrow eyes are light purple with thick, spiky eyelashes on the top lid and around down to the bottom. He has a beauty mark on his right cheek, though it's unknown if it's actually a piercing. He is depicted with a neutral expression.

Youhei's outfit consists of a loose, overgrown pale pink T-shirt with a pink rectangle in the middle with the image of a girl wearing a sweater and blunt bangs with her left eye missing a pupil. The shirt is of unknown height and is tucked beneath his dark gray pants that get baggy near the ends, though the shirt ends do stick out at the sides. The pants are secured with a strap on the centre of the hip with a silver button on the waistline. His sneakers are white with red sides. He has long black painted fingernails.

Youhei has multiple black piercings, two on the right eyebrow, four hooked ones on the other, including two on each centre of the ears, but the top and middle parts of the right ear have pin-like piercings. On his earlobes, he wears dark gray circular earrings. The right one appears darker with a lighter dot and an X below on top.

In art posted on von babbitt's Tumblr of Youhei when he was younger, he had short hair and wore a sweater over a collared shirt with a necktie.

Most of the information known about Youhei's personality comes from Hanano's Student Spotlight, in which she answers several questions from his perspective. According to Hanano, self-preservation is a priority for Youhei, and she alleges that he is an "exceptional coward". She notes that he has developed a rebellious personality due to his strict upbringing. She also says that he struggles deeply with commitment. He has no relationship with his family, and has not preserved any romantic relationships for longer than a month or so. Hanano characterizes Youhei as "all for" drug use and rather adventurous about it. She says that he will smoke anything he can roll[1], though he seems to prefer marijuana for relaxing.

As seen in "The Interview: Ninomiya", Youhei is loud, sassy, and rebellious. He's also willing to put himself at risk to obtain information, as shown by him pretending not to have any pre-existing medical conditions to test whether Seki Kuneyasu was already aware of his diabetes, even if this meant losing access to insulin.

Youhei's parents were very traditional people. His father was a politician for most of his life, and was very concerned with appearances. his mother was very similar. Youhei seemed to find it difficult to live up to either of his parents' standards, and didn't get along well with them.[1] They disapproved of his hobbies and did not like his friends. This led to him developing a rebellious personality.

At some point, Youhei met Hanano along with Juri Kaneko, Katsuji Ishiguro, and Esther Asai, and they all became roommates.[2] He was intimate with one of them, most likely Hanano. Eventually, two of Youhei's roommates entered a long-term relationship and decided to move out together. Another decided to move out on her own after she had secured a higher paying position in her field. At that point, only Youhei and Hanano remained. Hanano decided to pursue her own independent path, and moved out promptly.[1]

Youhei's current apartment is fairly unkempt. Hanano says that he does not take very good care of his space, and that there are clothes everywhere.[1]

Despite no longer living together, Youhei and Hanano are still in close contact. Hanano often stays over at his apartment, and it is somewhat implied that they have an intimate relationship. At one point, there was some conflict between them regarding Hanano stealing some of his belongings from his apartment.[2] Hanano has stated that she finds Youhei interesting.[1]
