Reddit Web Clients

Here's the full list of alternative Reddit web clients that I could find.

They're all pretty lightweight (at least moreso than the official Reddit web clients), so they're all workable alternatives to some degree.

The catch is that their feature sets differ. Some just let you see posts, others let you see posts and comments, yet others let you login and see your subreddits, and yet others let you vote and comment. I don't think any of them (except official Reddit web clients and derivatives) let you message or chat. Basically, I'm too lazy to test them all.

This is where you people come in. Test as many of these alternatives as you have the patience for, and comment below with your findings. Thanks.

  • Still Surviving Compact Reddit
    • Notes: Apparently, appending ".i" to the end of any Reddit URL still gets you the compact version. Unfortunately, the compact status isn't applied to clicked links. A userscript can solve this problem. We'll see what we can do.

  • Old Reddit
    • Official instance: https://old.reddit.com/
    • Notes: The only remaining official lightweight web client. Admins have stated that it will be maintained over the long term, but who knows. Works fine on desktop. Bad user experience on mobile.

  • Uforio
    • Official instance: http://web.uforio.com/
    • Notes: HTTPS doesn't work. Logging in is not recommended. Works fine on desktop. Bad user experience on mobile.
