HOW TO USE GROUP CHATS IN SILLYTAVERN
- join cards (include muted)
- remove references to {{char}} and {{user}} in sysprompt
- remove character defs, scenario, and (optionally) persona from prompt template. add all these separately in WI entries. removing persona means if you allow the characters to reply to each other for a spell it won't have to reprocess when you eventually chime in. I think after 4-6 messages between characters it'll drop your persona def from the chat, kind of annoying.
- remove all example dialogue from each character in your group chat. you can also add this to a WI info but you probably want to specify EXAMPLE DIALOGUE: {text} or similar. I personally don't bother
At this point you should start a new group chat and check your console to confirm that it's working. Combine cards (include muted) will result in a long list of character names thrown at the start of the chat. Changing the names OR the order of the characters in the chat WILL result in reprocessing, as will adding new characters to the chat.
I set up specific presets for group chats. basically you want everything gone except world info. "Blanking" each character won't work because each time you switch characters it'll toss {{new_char}}: [blank] right at the front of the context and then switch to {{old_char}}: [blank] and each time because the name for {{char}} changes that's going to cause the whole context to be reprocessed. Also, your world info entries should use actual character names and not {{char}} and {{user}}.
