"I don't think any of you win, honestly," you say. Maybe it was the hard choice, but it was the only right one.
All of them gape—nobody was expecting that.
"After all, there's a baby outside that all of you just left alone so that you could pull me in here to judge your contest." You shrug. "Seems to me like anybody who wanted to be considered a good possible mother would realize that."
"Damn it!" Baelz grits her teeth, a fist pounding the arm of her throne. "I can't believe I forgot that!"
"I was too hasty… that's unlike me," Fauna whispers to herself.
"Oh, that's fine," Mumei sighs. "I wasn't expecting to win anyways."
"Wait, really? I completely forgot! You gotta let me see her!" Sana leaps out of her chair, heading for the door. You grab her by the collar as she passes—you didn't want your sister to be reciting Black Speech instead of 'mama' and 'papa' in a few months.
"I told you this was a waste of time," Kronii sighs, glaring at the others. "C'mon, babe, let's go." Still, from the look in your eyes, you get the feeling that she's none too happy with you, either.
