Parfaite Sukemori / La Première femme de Chambre

Parfaite is perfect— at least she tries to be, and many of her peers believe so. She is not the most beautiful, the most skilled, nor is she known for excelling in a particular subject, but the breadth of her talent and ability is staggering. It allows her to blend into almost any situation and find common ground with nearly anyone, which is something she values greatly. There are practical reasons, of course, but for Parfaite, it is the need for approval that drives her. That simple desire has driven her to subdue herself to become whoever she needs to be. As successful as she's been, this has made it difficult for her to make deep connections. This dilemma isn't helped by the fact that she spends the vast majority of her time working as a model for her family's high-end clothing and cosmetics company, making the opportunities for her to grow close with anyone few and far between. Unspoken anxieties over sudden displacement also serve as a barrier, but she still strives to surround herself with friends who like her for her, whatever that means.

Childhood

Born to a French mother and Japanese father who turned from business partners to lovers in a whirlwind romance, Parfaite was not exactly planned, but was a welcome surprise. The circumstances of her birth resulted in her actually being born abroad, spending much of her childhood on the move. It was this exposure to different environments that initially led to her picking up various skills purely out of interest and adapting herself out of necessity. Eventually, hopping from place to place and her parents' busyness, despite their best efforts, resulted in her craving attention and affection, and doing whatever she could to attain it. For her parents, that meant getting involved in the very work that often kept them away. It did bring them closer, but it only further isolated her from others while tainting the parent-child relationship between them with that of employer and employee. Without realizing it, Parfaite altered herself to be more 'useful' to them and began to understand their relationship as transactional; their affection would only be given to the version of her that was worthy of it.

Interests

Although much of herself has been lost, and she finds it challenging to discern what she genuinely enjoys, there are still a few things that she clings to. Surprisingly, she has a great love of fashion and often finds herself putting together outfits wholly divorced from the desire to impress that usually permeates her actions. Though it does make her positively ecstatic to have these outfits complimented, causing her to swoon over the one it came from. Parfaite also got into the habit of collecting various trinkets while traveling with her parents. They made the constant change easier to deal with as they allowed her to hold onto the pieces of herself she was leaving behind, in a way. Now, she still enjoys collecting things for similar reasons, but also simply to be easily fascinated. A sizable portion of her collection is a great variety of accessories in different styles, and another is toys. She has a special fondness for dolls.

Idolon

La Première femme de Chambre is the tragic result of Parfaite's self-perception, or perhaps the lack thereof. It is fundamentally broken, having no apparent meaning until others grant it some. Then, it adjusts itself to embody the expectations placed on it perfectly. Meaning need not be given willingly, however. It greedily takes more meaning with which to define itself from every encounter. Aside from this, it can apply its ever-changing nature to others by making alterations to their ethereal properties. La Première is exceedingly polite and will act in whatever way it believes will be most pleasing. However, it's somewhat easily incited to rage. Having its efforts scorned will cause La Première to rip itself and the offender apart if not calmed.

Combat

For as conflict-avoidant as she tends to be, Parfaite is actually more than capable of holding her own. She lacks the fighting instinct of a brawler or the practiced expertise from a proper martial artist's dedication, but what she does have is a vast technical understanding and the ability to execute to a degree that makes short work of anyone who mistakes her for an easy target due to her gentle demeanor. Of course, under most circumstances, she would consider it a failure to have caused someone to want to do her physical harm. It's this mindset that has made La Première more focused on supporting allies and hindering foes rather than having great personal power. Still, the desire for self-perfection makes it as surpassingly fearsome as its human counterpart. Some recent incidents have led to Parfaite growing a reputation amongst the city's gangs, which she's deeply embarrassed about.
