A Dragonbreak's Worth of Letters
Lady Shadow Tail,
Congratulations on our victory over the Akavir! I know you wish to turn your attention south and handle the two… irrational actors among us, but before you do, I have a request. Please cede the Imperial center to our forces.
I know that this is unfair and seems a naked power grab, but I call your attention to the voice we all heard yesterday. “Two Days remain.” That voice has not sounded again today. I believe I have guessed the cause.
The voice sounded when the Akavir held sole dominion over the tower. I believe that this countdown will continue when one leader holds the tower. It is my hope that if this countdown expires we may see an end to these strange occurrences which bedevil us and endanger the people.
You have stated no desire to be Empress, if these words be true please cede the central plaza that we may be one day closer to an end to this horror. If the voice does not sound, we may revisit this topic.
Should you accept giving our army the tower, I have received permission to cede the Arena District to your control immediately. After the false Hist and the Ayleid are dealt with we may negotiate the disposition of the other districts. You have my word, we will do our utmost to keep fighting out of the city’s streets. I am available to meet with you directly to iron out the details upon your request.
I have the honor to remain your obedient servant,
Lilinah
Ruga,
First congratulations for a battle well fought! I am sorry to hear that the dov fled before you were able to kill it, I hope the snake’s head is adequate consolation. Allow me to brief you on the situation as it’s developed since your victory.
Lord Ysmir broke the back (literally according to my reports) of the Reachmen army. The Reachmen are in flight and he intends to make his way to the Imperial City center.
The recently rescued Imperial Legions are in a state of uncertainty. I would not doubt that some will seek to press Magnus or Vivie’s claim, but I hope it will take them… over a day before they may threaten the Imperial center. I’m in negotiations with them as we speak (don’t ask) and will keep you appraised of their disposition.
To the Southeast Dance-With-Rain has broken the University. The… Nord Goose seems intent on fleeing into the city.
The Khajit, Al-Rahj, to our south has consolidated his position. I do not know his next move, I don’t think he does as of yet.
Octavian has aligned with some southern Mer previously aligned with Al-Rahj and may soon make a move against Dance-With-Rain.
I am in negotiations with Lady Shadow Tail for her to leave the City Center in peace. We shall see how Lady Shadow Tail receives my most recent offer. She may well need to be removed by force, but I remain hopeful that negotiations will enable you to focus on more deserving enemies.
L
Ysmir,
I may have hinted to Lady Vivie that she could form a marriage alliance with you. I didn’t make a promise on your behalf I assure you! I realize I overstepped, but I hope you will consider it, or at least pretend to. Her alliance, I believe you’ll agree, is desirable.
Attached please find the latest intelligence reports.
The overview is: Ruga and Philidus took the city center, they are currently jointly occupying it with Lady Shadow Tail and Lady Nishtar. I am negotiating a territorial exchange with Lady Shadow Tail, so that we can control and begin fortifying the center (you may wish to recall your architect from Octavian’s camp). Dance-With-Rain has broken through the University and will presently become Lady Shadow Tail’s more immediate concern. Octavian may soon make a move against Dance-With-Rain. The Southern sections of the city are occupied by the Ayleid and An-Xleel.
As discussed I’m in negotiations with the recently rescued Imperial Legions.

Captain Torn,
I am sorry to hear the hardships you and your men have endured. Let it be known that Ysmir seeks nothing but a swift end to this war which has already cost so much. You would be welcome in Ysmir’s camp and you would be honored as an officer and a hero.
Even if you reject the idea of supporting Ysmir’s claim, please send your wounded to Octavian that they may receive care away from the front lines. I will personally request ships be sent to ferry your wounded to his settlement.
I have the honor to remain your obedient servant,
Lilinah
Octavian,
The battle goes well for now. I’m in negotiations with several different parties, so please pardon my brevity and my uncouth request.
I realize I have not returned your siege engines, but given that the pirate threat is dealt with may I request a portion of my privateers temporarily returned to my service? There are wounded among the Imperial Legions that would do well to receive treatment in your settlement. Whatever you may spare of my privateers would be a boon to the legions and OUR relationship with them.
Once the privateers finish this assignment I return them to your service.
L
General Caligate,
It heartens me to hear of your survival. Tamriel has lost too many of its finest stars in recent days. I am sorry to hear of Grenel’s passing. Though this war would’ve likely seen us enemies, his genius will be sorely missed in the days to come. I’m afraid Tamriel cannot endure so many more losses.
Enclosed please find a potion of my court mage’s, Sees-The-Hidden, design. He claims it will accelerate the Argonian’s natural regenerative powers. I hope it helps.
I write to, not only express my condolences and wish you a speedy recovery, but to encourage you to throw your support behind Ysmir. His recent actions in rescuing potential rivals to the throne have surely shown he does not only seek power for himself, but values the lives of the men who serve the empire.
I admit I would have left the Legions to their fate and seen the Briarheart off after you’d bled him. Ysmir would not hear it. Perhaps that is why he is fit to be our Emperor and I am not.
I have offered Captain Torn the option to evacuate his wounded upon ships to Octavian’s settlement. I extend the same offer to you.
I have the honor to remain your obedient servant,
Lilinah
Lady Vivie Herrvan,
It is an honor! My name is Lilinah, I am a dunmer currently serving as Ysmir the Giant’s chief ambassador. Congratulations on your recently shared victory against the Reachmen!
I know you have designs on the throne, most of us did when we first came to this island. However, this war has already cost us much and I believe we would all see an end to this madness as soon as we can. Whatever the source of the horrors we’ve all experienced, I believe the countdown when the Akavir sat on the throne is a key to their end and Ysmir is in a position to reach the end of that countdown faster than anyone else.
I know to ask another woman to throw her support behind a man is galling, but consider this, there are ways to the throne other than being the one to inherit it. Ysmir is as of yet unmarried and he is not out of reach for one of your station.
All I ask is that you consider it. Upon request, we may meet in person to discuss matters further.
I have the honor to remain your obedient servant,
Lilinah
