You both shuffle into a modestly sized apartment
it looks cozy, almost reminds of your parents house, complete with an ornate cabinet and tacky doormat
As she sets her coat down Amelia turns around
”Can I interest you in some coffee?Tea?”
Coffee sounds nice
After all, it’s not like you were gonna get much sleep anyways
She walks around the corner and starts humming as she prepares your drink
As you continue to look around her apartment something catches your eye
A beautiful golden pocket watch
It seems so familiar
You pick it and turn it over in your hand
The ribbon in your pocket suddenly wraps around and tightly clenches your other hand
It looks exactly like the one you gave to Kronii for Christmas that one year
The most unique one you could find
You had to do some digging but you had found just the right one for her
The last clock an old swiss clockmaker had made right before his death
Nearly a century old
The one gift she treasured above all else
The one she kept on her at all times
Suddenly things start to click in your mind
You could have sworn you heard that melody Amelia was humming before
It was the same one Kronii would use for comforting you when you’d come home exhausted or when you’d wake from a particular terrifying nightmare, or just needed to hold her
You start questioning more
Why were you here? Because some random stranger took pity on you?
Why did she care that you were cold?
You were wearing your winter coat
You were so lost in thought you didn’t hear Amelia walk behind you as she gently set down a small tray with a mug of tea and coffee
”I knew I should have killed you too”
As you turn around in surprise you feel a sharp, deep pain in your side
Amelia’s hand is firmly gripped around a knife thrusted right into your spleen
It hurts so much and it only gets worse as she continues to slowly shove it into you, slowly twisting the blade as you scream in pain
Every instinct in your body screams for you to get away
You won’t
With a surge of adrenaline you grab your steaming coffee from the tray and hurl it at Amelia’s face
Now it’s her turn to scream as the scalding liquid collides with and runs down her face
Not finished yet, you swing the empty mug as hard as you can against her face
It shatters from the force of the impact while several shards lodge themselves into the sides of Amelia’s face and one of her bloodshot eyes
You stumble backward while Amelia howls in pain
You catch a glimpse of her face through her coffee stained hair
Pure anger stares back at you with one maniacal eye
She charges toward you screaming, “I’LLL FUCKING DISMEMBER YOU FOR THIS!”
She may be fast but she’s smaller than you
You manage to not fall over as she smashes into you
A swift punch to the gut does the job just fine though
You’re struggling with her, desperately trying defend yourself as you lay on the ground
She laughs as her agile hands remove a syringe from a belt at her waist before plunging it into your leg and pressing down on the plunger
You feel the worst pain in your entire life travel up and down your leg
You start madly kicking, with one catching Amelia in the head
She falls over stunned for a moment before crawling after you
She’s pinned you now
She draws a small knife from her belt
Thinking quickly, you grab both her wrists
Which you immediately regret as she bites down hard on the fingers restraining her knife hand
Your grip loosens as you cry out in agony
You’re fighting to keep the little blade from plunging straight into your neck
Amelia chuckles in between labored breathes as she slowly guides the knife to your face despite your best efforts
She slowly cuts a line across your cheek before leaning down and whispering in your ear
”Now you match her”
Something inside you snaps
Using all the adrenaline and strength you can muster, you pull the knife still stuck into your chest out before thrusting it as hard as you can into Amelia’s chest
You watch her eyes dilate as the blade penetrates her skin
Using the last of your strength you punch her square in the jaw
She’s forced back, right into the wall as her head bounces back from the impact and her body crumbles beneath her
She remains motionless and quiet

The adrenaline is starting to wear off, being replaced by waves of pain
Your whole body feels like hell
You can barely move a muscle
You weakly clutch the ribbon as you begin to feel increasingly lightheaded
It feels like you’re floating in an ocean
You’re so tired
You feel your body giving up
You close your eyes and slowly drift off to what feels like sleep
You finally get the answer to the question you’ve been asking all this time as your breathe your final breath
Kronii doko?
Kronii koko.
