The trick with Claude is to keep it simple and just keep it to the things you want.
Just remove anything you don't want or add some of the things you like best.

If you want to use any other things during a conversation or to change how something is going just use [System Note: Say something here.]. Obviously replace the Say something here part with what you want :). It may also be useful to tell it for every message from now on ....
You can use OOC too instead of System Note but I've had better results with System Note for Claude.
This will let it know that you're trying to talk to it and not to the character.

If you don't want it to use flowery language tell it to not use purple prose.
