Treaty of Montebourg

The Mononobe Shogunate and the Kingdom of Oiseaux agree to the following terms. The Shogunate will be including the treaties between its two trade companies, the K.A.G. and the C.I.O., into this treaty in order to simplify things. This treaty goes into effect in 1066 VTE.

National Terms

  1. Both nations agree that the current trading relationship between each other is satisfactory for both parties and wish to continue it
  2. The Fleet Cooperation, and Naval Exercises shall continue
  3. The Mononobe Shogunate will send Naval Architects and Engineers to assist in the development of the Marine Royale, as requested, so that it may once again be worthy of the excellence expected from Queen Louise XV
  4. Both nations agree to enter into a Full Alliance. This alliance is a result of our long friendship and out of honour, a call to arms shall be only given out when one of the members believes it is essential to the integrity of their nation for the other to join in. May our friendship be eternal and honourable.
  5. The second son of the Mononobe Shogun shall marry the Crown Princess of Oiseau to cement this alliance.

K.A.G. Terms

  1. The K.A.G. agrees to help the Kingdom of Oiseau deal with the infidels and pirates operating from the Kingdom's northwestern territories. This assistance will include coastal fortifications and assistance in rebuilding the Western Fleet from its new base at Bouillargues.
  2. The K.A.G. shall purchase a lease for the dual use of the Island of Île-Majestueux for a moderate amount of gold and a fee each year that reflects its importance. The fee is to be decided by both parties on every ten years. This lease can be terminated whenever the Kingdom wishes. The K.A.G. must fortify the Island and will consider any attack on the port of Bouillargues as an attack on the Company itself. The K.A.G. forces in this event shall be placed under the command of the Local Naval Commandant.
  3. Île-Royale shall be used as the headquarters of the K.A.G. for its operations in Oiseau. The K.A.G.'s merchant quarters and reserve shipping facilities will be stationed here but this region is under the control of Oiseau and there is no lease given no ownership by the K.A.G. The K.A.G. will pay a fee each year for these facilities that maybe decided upon by both parties every ten years.
  4. The K.A.G. will be granted access beyond the ports as the foreign merchants to conduct business in other towns
  5. No property, or businesses may be controlled or owned by the K.A.G. in Oiseau. Amy breach of this shall result in immediate expulsion.
  6. The Royal Merchants Guild agrees that their preferred trading partners is the K.A.G.
  7. All vessels, property, employees and associates of the company operating in the Kingdom of Oiseau and in its waters are under the law of the Oiseux Government. Any dispute about this shall be annulled with this clause
  8. The K.A.G. pledges fairness and honour in its dealings with Oiseau.
  9. The Government of Oiseaux retains the Right to declare what goods may and may not be traded.
  10. All transactions will be performed using Oiseaux Currency and Measurements.

C.I.O. Terms

  1. The C.I.O. shall establish a trading and port facilities in the designated port of Montebourg. The C.I.O. shall pay a yearly fee for these facilities and rights and the fee is to be decided upon every 10 years by both parties.
  2. The C.I.O. may not leave their designated quarter or conduct business outside of it. Any attempts at such shall result in their immediate expulsion.
  3. All vessels, property, employees and associates of the company in the Kingdom of Oiseau and in its waters are under the law of the Oiseux Government. Any dispute about this shall be annulled with this clause
  4. No property, or businesses may be controlled or owned by the C.I.O. in Oiseau. Amy breach of this shall result in immediate expulsion.
  5. In the case of attack on Montebourg, all C.I.O. units in the area shall be placed under the Local Naval Commandant.
  6. The C.I.O. pledges fairness and honour in its dealings with Oiseau.
  7. The Government of Oiseaux retains the Right to declare what goods may and may not be traded
  8. All transactions will be performed using Oiseaux Currency and Measurements.
