Downloading and Installing the Client

For this guide you will want to be using either the PollyMC or PrismLauncher client, depending on whether you plan to use an Offline or Microsoft account to access the game. Both clients are forked from the same source, and all interface options should otherwise be identical. If you do not have a valid Microsoft account that owns Minecraft, or do not want to use said account to access the server, use PollyMC.

Download the appropriate client and continue through the installation process.

Once it is installed, run it and select appropriate options. Be sure that Java version 17 is selected on the second screen. If necessary you can download it here if it is not already installed.

Setting both minimum and maximum memory to 8192 MB is highly recommended if your system has enough RAM to spare in order to improve performance. If you do not have enough you can set an appropriate multiple of 2048 MB based on your system, such as 2048, 4096, or 6144. Do not set above 8192 MB even if you have more than this, allocating too much memory for Minecraft can actually degrade performance.

If the program does not run you may be missing the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, this can be found here.

Setting Up the Instance

The first thing you are going to want to do is click the Accounts button in the top right corner, and then click Manage Accounts to set up the name or account you will be using in the server. Click either Add Microsoft or Add Offline depending on the type of account you would like to use. If you opt to use a Microsoft account it will open your web browser and prompt you to continue there to login, and then enter a code to link it with the launcher.

If your preferred option is not working verify that you installed the correct client from the two choices above.

Once your account is set up and checked as seen in the last screenshot, you will want to install our custom modpack! Close out the Accounts window and click Add Instance in the upper left, to begin. From here you will want to click Import from zip on the left sidebar and then paste this address in:

https://files.catbox.moe/ygosa8.zip

While not mandatory, you can set a name for the instance in the box at the top of the screen. Then click OK and the launcher should begin downloading all necessary resources to run the instance.

If you would like to change some settings before launching the instance such as the window size you can do so now by right clicking the new instance, selecting Edit, and then Settings from the left sidebar.

Use this pasted into the bottom box on the Settings page (Java arguments) for better performance!

Connecting to /pyon/craft

Once your instance is set up, double click it to launch Minecraft. The first time you run it, it will also download the client and any other necessary resources from Mojang. Wait for the game to load, and then click on the Multiplayer button from the main menu. Our server should already come preloaded and be ready to choose, so click it and join /pyon/craft!

Login 1 Login 2 Login 3 Login 4

If for whatever reason you need the server address, it can be found at the top of this document.

Don't worry if you see an error with something like "Attempted to load a modifier before dynamic modifiers are loaded" your first time connecting, just try again and it should go away.

On your first login you will be required to choose a password to register your account with the server. Do so with the command /register password password substituting your password of choice in for "password".

Authentication 1 Authentication 2 Authentication 3

On subsequent logins, enter /login password to log back in with your chosen password if necessary. (This should only be needed if logged out for an extended amount of time.)

That's it, you're now ready to play! Have fun mining and crafting with Kiki and your fellow Champs!

Shaders

The /pyon/ Pack comes with some optional shaders you can use, though they are disabled by default. If you would like to enable them you can do so by going to Options (either through the gear button on the main menu or from the pause screen in-game) and then selecting Video Settings and Shader Packs. Click Shaders: Disabled to toggle back and forth between disabling and enabling them. You can also try a different variant of the shader pack here, or another one you have downloaded. Click Done when you are finished.

Resource Pack

The resource pack "cocricot" has been added to make some visual changes across Minecraft. If you encounter issues with graphics or performance, or would prefer to restore the original look, you can do so by entering the "Resource Packs" section of the Options menu, and then finding it on the right side. Click the left-facing arrow on its icon to move it to the left (inactive) side, and then select "Done" when done. It may take some time for Minecraft to reload after making changes to your resource pack configuration.

Bonus

If you would like to use our own custom /pyon/ themed icon instead of the default anvil icon, you can download it here and then apply it by right clicking on the instance and choosing Change Icon, then selecting Add Icon and choosing the file you downloaded.

Updating

If you need to update to a newer version of the modpack, you can delete the previous pack and install it again using the new URL. This can be done by right clicking the server icon and selecting "Delete". You can then refer to the steps above to install it again with the most updated mods and resources.

Note for Spectrum Players

Certain self-replicating blocks have been disabled on player owned claims to prevent them from spreading and defacing other people's builds. Unfortunately, this will also include your own claim, as the block has no way of determining who originally placed it. To use these blocks or unlock progression related to them, you will need to do so on unclaimed land for now. (Also please be responsible and clean up afterward.)
