I don't really like "debating" or arguing about Proshipping but, like, No, it isn't currently being used as it's "original meaning", and I am of the Belief that if you Label yourself as This, you Should be aware and Consider what the Wider public Thinks of it as meaning. It isn't Everyone Else's fault, at a certain Point—This is why There are so many people who "Proship" but Don't Say they are a "Proshipper". Because the actual Action of "Proshipping" (supporting Odder or Interesting Ships, and being "Anti-Harassment") Doesn't Need a Label that makes everyone Hate You.

And I think it's Kind of Silly to just assume that Everyone will sit down and Listen to you Explain "No, No, it only means that I believe shipping is a #RIGHT that everybody Has, and...Oh? Com/Dark/Proshipping? Gladly! Actually, it's the ANTIs that..." Like Come on Now!

It is just the Truth that if you Label yourself this way, you are Going to be Grouped in with people who #TENDTOBEMENACES! if you're Comfortable with that, that's #CHILL I guess, because that's Probably how labels like that are Supposed to be Used. Not that it's particularly good in my personal Opinion, as I think Generally you will Attract Worse people this Way, that's not my Business I Guess.

Also, I'm not sure that Coping Mechanisms are super Relevant when it Comes to talking about Publicly Using the Label "Proship". I just...think that when you Share bad coping mechanisms (hello SHEDtwt), you are Likely making it worse and harder for yourself and other people--I feel as though part of the Aim in most coping mechanisms is to Keep Yourself Safe, and to...use it for Yourself. When you are joining Communities of people Doing something Dangerous, even though it is in fact just a mechanism for Yourself, the Community aspect sorta Ruins that. There is a Difference between Reading Certain Fanfiction on your Own and Inviting people to talk About it, I Think. Just creates Bad Spaces. and Dangerous spaces, for Other people, who Have to See it. (yes, "Have to see it, like, It is Kind of hard to Avoid these Communities, LOL.)
