“why do you hate PercaBeth? that's not cool :(” i despise how Rick has written the ship into “Annabeth has Percy in a leash and only SHE can control him.” it's a typical misogynistic trope of a woman having to micromanage a man.

also it's simply untrue. Annabeth can be just as unwise and impulsive as Percy can. don't ask why she wanted to listen to the Siren whilst arms, why she back-talked the sphinx or attacked her Praetor boyfriend in front of hostile Romans.

that's a reason why people liked Percabeth. it felt as if they were one equal standing and BOTH could be equally wrong or right. (the whole love fuckery in BOTL proved that) by trying to paint Annabeth as having this overwordly intelligence compared to Percy removes a strong reason WHY people loved the ship and makes it kinda boring.

and she's just an ass to him (like, after PJO is where it begins) i'm sorry but like she calls him stupid, demeaned him for simply not understanding something, didn't appreciate the picnic date they had because it's not extravagant. homegirl it's one month and he doesn't have a job. CHILL. (happened in Staff of Hermes)

i firmly believe this is Rick playing HARD into the “teasing partner and doormat partner” trope he has grown to add to almost every canon ship. PJO! Percabeth was never fully like that but since fans loved it and kept playing into it i THINK, THINK Rick began playing into it as well.

“i like Percabeth, can i still interact and stuff?” yeah. i don't like the ship but i don't mind the stans abt it interacting. just don't think you can change my dislike about the ship or harass me enough to be quiet enough about my dislike.

“who should've been endgame?” PercaBeth. like, they're very well written in PJO but after that is when they drop off really.

i also hate the way the show made Percy this kinda man who'd pick who he loves over the world. that is NOT Perseus "Percy" Jackson. and this is because the actors are being told to play into Percabeth. Percy has shown (even in the first book in the entire series) that he can and will choose the greater good.
