"Why are you like this?!" You slam your fist against the table, the cutlery jumping and tinking, an empty glass tips over and smashes on the floor.
"Everytime we take a step forward, you go two steps back!" The vein throbbing in your forehead as you stared Kronii down felt fit to bursting. You were trying your hardest to help her but today you had snapped, you couldn't take the inaction any longer.
"I'm sorry..." came a meek reply.
"Sorry? SORRY! EVERYTHING I do, I do for you and you don't even have the COURTESY to return the favour?!"
Kronii had began to tear up, sniffling and looking away from you.
"Look at me in the eyes when I am talking to you!" It took all your strength to not manhandle her into doing so.
She began to sob profusely now, but she returned your challenge and looked directly at you, the kitchen fell into a calm, like the eye of a storm.
"YOU'RE NO BETTER THAN ME!"
"You rely on me for your happiness and you treat ME like this!"
Speechless, you just stare her down, the shoe was on the other foot
"If it weren't for me, you'd still be a lonely, depressing bastard!"
That stung, but the tensions were too high to roll over now and you retort without thinkin, emotions in overdrive
"And what? You would be any better? If it wasn't for me you wouldn't even know what love i-"
Kronii smacked the side of your face, leaving your head ringing, and ran off weeping, slamming her streaming room door.
Clarity swept over you from the slap, what had you done? How had you let your emotions get this far?
You stop the dinner from burning and grab your jacket, you need a refreshing night walk to clear your head...

The flickering amber of the street lamp illuminated your target, a rotten old bench in the local park.
A chill breeze swept over the umbral trees, releasing autumnal leaves from their boughs and settling around your shoes.
Nighttime walks always helped your mind settle and rationalise your day, before you met her even, you had gone on them relatively frequently. This walk had seemed different though, it was the first solo walk you had done since Kronii had burst into your life.
Funny. You think back to a time before, everything, seemingly greyscale in your memories; The mental ache when you woke up, the dread of work, the lack of any goals or aspirations, the coping mechanisms. Then she arrived; Memories of her were technicolour and bright, the world around you seemingly blossoming, you had a reason to work, you had a goal to achieve, you certainly still ached in the mornings but it was for completely different, more physical reasons and those coping mechanisms from before, she had supplanted them.
She had saved you.
Grown men shouldn't cry, but you felt overwhelmed. How could you have been so cruel? So nasty? Is this who you truly were?
A leaf brushed against your face, its wilted existence almost seemed metaphorical in a way as you go to brush it off.
But a hand grabs yours.
She is there. Wrapped in a thick fluffy coat. You could see the tear stains on her cheek still.
"Hello. Mind if I join you"
No protest. No response. You scoot over the bench as Kronii sits next to you. A very evident gap between the two of you.
Neither of you say anything, you both sit in silence and listen to the wind through the trees and the gentle hum of the lamplight above
You need to apologise.
"Kro-"
A soft pair of lips delicately touch yours, silencing you. It's a timid kiss, one more fittingly shared between two virgin lovers.
As you enjoy the comforting smooch, you gently stroke her cheek. She is cold. Very cold.
No words were needed as she pulled away from the kiss and slides right up next to you. You coddle her in your arms, heads resting on each other, sharing your warmth with her.
You forgave each other. Both of you had problems but you were going to fix them. Together.
