you had received some tickets from Fauna
she had won them in some contest she had entered
they were for a free trip to a cabin in the mountains
there were two tickets and Fauna had thought it'd be better enjoyed by Kronii and you
Kronii wasn't really sure she wanted to go but after some prodding you convinced her
a couple weeks later you make the trip
after a long trip you arrive at the cabin
it's absolutely freezing out
the cabin looks like it's barely holding itself together
"anon this is nothing like the picture you showed me"
she's clearly annoyed wishing to be back in the warm embrace of her weighted blanket and heater
"yeah sorry Kronii... I thought it'd be better than this, let's just try to make the best of it"
you push open the door rushing inside with Kronii
it's not much warmer in the cabin but at least it's mostly out of the wind
Kronii walks over to one of the few pieces of furniture the couch
it's beat up but it's somewhere to sit at least
"go find a blanket or something"
she's clearly upset
you decide to just do what she asks
you head towards the back of the cabin rummaging around
you don't find a blanket but you do find a pile of firewood fortunately still dry
looking back to the main area there is a fireplace in front of the couch
you gather what you can and bring it over
"well I couldn't find a blanket but I got some firewood"
she looks up for a second and makes a show of shivering
taking her hint you toss some wood in the fireplace
you dig around in your bag and find a lighter and some newspaper scrap
the cabin was supposed to have a heater and electricity but it never hurts to be prepared and it came in handy this time
crumpling the paper you build the fire eventually getting the logs ablaze
your work complete and a fire burning you step back
you hear loud clicking against the roof
you decide to take a look
cracking open the door lets in a blast of cold air
Kronii groans at you
looking outside it seems a full on blizzard has started the clicking noise was chunks of hail
pushing the door back closed the temperature having obviously dropped inside
you move to sit down next to Kronii on the couch
"looks like we're stuck here till the weather calms down"
you let out a sigh starting to feel the chill yourself even with the fire rolling
"I thought it'd be a fun get away sorry it ended up like this Kronii"
she slides closer to you
"it's fine you couldn't have known, I might have resisted going but I'm glad you wanted to take me somewhere"
she shivers a bit more
"still way too cold though"
you slide down the couch snuggling up next to her
you're both still shivering
"hey K-Kronii I h-have an idea to get warm"
you unzip your thick winter coat sliding it off
the chill is immediately worse but you continue
you turn towards Kronii and start unzipping her coat as well
she tries to stop you
"trust me Kronii I think you'll like this better"
she stops and lets you keep going
you pull her coat off and squeeze up next to her
you wrap her coat around the both of you followed by your own creating a makeshift blanket
Kronii squeezes next to you giving a side hug
"you're right I do like this better"
she kisses your cheek
the fire's heat finally seems to reach the two of you
"not what I had in mind for this vacation but maybe it's not so bad"
you give her a hug back
you'll see about heading home tomorrow
for now you're just gonna cuddle with Kronii under your makeshift blanket and make the best of things
