Orochi Relationship Chart:

About Orochi:

Orochi grew up in a rich family who has been doing heroics for three generations now (including hers), so she feels that is her duty to uphold her family’s name and become a hero despite her growing cynicism and distaste towards the hero world.

Because of her quirk, which made her toxic to other people and capable of poisoning them by direct contact with her bodily fluids, Orochi was ostracized and forced to be a “perfect girl” to not hurt anyone in her vicinity, which constrained her freedom and isolated her for almost her entire life. This isolation led her to turn to petty crime and gangs when in middle school.

She was lonely her entire life and found friends in her childhood gang, but her happiness was taken away by her mother, who didn’t agree with Orochi’s choice and isolated her even further, forcing her to be homeschooled and “learn more” about quirk ethics and how she should portray herself in society.

Because of the disciplination from her mother, she does a good job at hiding she was from a gang in the past, but if someone manages to dig that out, or places Orochi in an uncomfortable spot about gangs, Orochi may get defensive, aggressive, or even ignore the other person entirely.

She still is hurt by the fact she grew up with almost no friends, and was forced from interacting with the ones she had by her mother, which forms some attachment issues and a desire to be near those she cherishes. While she can put a smile and say she will be good on her own, in truth she will be hurt on the inside and wonder if she is not good enough or messed up.

Orochi is fiercely loyal to her friends and is willing to break the law or even ignore it entirely for them, if they need help, she will offer it, and she has a high ceiling on the degree of “bs” they can ask her. Back in her early days in Shiketsu, Orochi was kind of a troublemaker and sought to get into brawls against some students such as Kaylee.

After getting in Shiketsu, she was maimed by the Apex Predator Villain, Feral, which scarred her for the following months, and months afterward was eviscerated by the same, which made her quirk go on overdrive and awakened to keep her alive.

Before Feral’s attacks, Orochi was a bright girl who tried to see the best in life and stand on her two feet, dealing with her unique physiology and making some friends. After the attacks, she grew increasingly cynic and bitter about the world and herself, which became worse as the months passed.

Currently, Orochi is a highly impulsive and action-first type of girl. She tends to be dismissive of things she has no interest in and is kind of a braggart. She is bitter and cynical about villains and the prospect of her future but tries to keep a bright persona and smile for those she cares about.

Orochi still cares for her friends and will come to their rescue if they ask for help, but she has been growing bitter and hurt by the distance between them, and this only reinforces her hurt over separation and lack of time with them.

She knows they have better things to do, and their own problems, but it does not make her heart hurt any less.

Her Hydras have awakened intelligence and are more than just some animals attached to her, now able to form thoughts and rationalize their surroundings, as Orochi is deeply connected to them, taking on more animalistic and bestial impulses from her Hydras.

Orochi has a good sense of balance and knows ballet, and she knows a little bit of singing and how to control her voice range, she is extremely weak to alcohol, Orochi likes spicy food, and she loves video games, arcades, and rhythm games. She is also a gang leader.

[2-D]

Rosethorn:

Orochi respects Rosethorn greatly, although she used to not like Rosethorn’s whole “influencer” and “motivational hero” persona, seeing her as a fake and a sham. As the months passed, Orochi mellowed out to Rosethorn. She still dislikes the “motivational hero” part of her, but is not as combative towards Rosethorn as she used to be.

Orochi finds her resemblance to Rosethorn funny and how others tend to point out since her hair involuntarily became red. Despite her respect towards her teacher, Orochi is not willing to open her heart and reveal her hand to Rosethorn. She feels like Rosethorn wouldn’t understand her, or accept her decisions.

While Orochi has indeed some aspects of her that are alien to other people (such as sharing her nervous systems with her hydras), there are aspects of her life that Rosethorn would be able to help, such as her growing loneliness and trying to deal with her gang life, but Orochi is too proud, scared and hurt to seek Rosethorn’s help, even if she should.

Hoge:

Orochi thought of Hoge as a pain in the ass and too much of a stuck-up, although she still tried to pay attention to Hoge’s existence as a form of respect towards her. As time passed, they somehow developed a friendship. Orochi unironically looks up to Hoge as an example to be followed, and if the situation allows it, will look out for Hoge's help in something she can’t understand or deal with, such as leadership, strategies, or tactics.

Orochi is completely unaware of how Hoge truly is, and her own view of Orochi as a “graceful flower”. She sees Hoge as a competent ninja and leader, reliable and commendable on the mind aspect of being a leader. This unawareness of how Hoge thinks and acts could lead to some interesting interactions as Orochi pulls Hoge into awkward situations by following her own view of Hoge, while Hoge tries to deal with the insanities Orochi asks.

Orochi finds Hoge, and because of her diminished self-control, may try to involuntarily hug Hoge. If Hoge tried to cut their friendship, it would strain Orochi’s heart even further as she now would have a concrete example of a friend of hers cutting ties because of her changes.

Christopher:

Orochi is a very good friend of Christopher. Their shared interest in arcades and gaming made them hit off right from the start, and their friendship only grew from there. Orochi cares deeply about Chris, and their lack of contact due to internships, the whole Night of the Reaper saga, and their lives becoming rocky and dangerous made Orochi kind of unstable.

She knows Chris is up to something, she knew it for months, but her lack of help towards him, all the time he spent in the hospital, and how she failed to be a “good friend to him” in her eyes have been building up for a long time. Much of her attachment and loneliness issues are springing up because of her own view of inadequacy towards her friends, which in turn becomes overprotectiveness unless something BIG happens to be more important.

She wants to help Chris, but he can’t find a way to help him. He gets hurt and sent to the Hospital, and she feels inadequate and in turn, needs to be stronger to help him, he does something dumb, doesn’t ask for help, gets sent to the hospital, and the cycle repeats. If Chris sat her down and explained things, Orochi wouldn’t be as neurotic and unstable, and it surely would help her deal with her animalistic side, but no way it will happen anytime soon.

Haily, Minnie, Faith, Max:

Barely had any interaction with them. Orochi is alright with them, I guess? Orochi may know more about Faith and her interest in Chris by her being Chris’ girlfriend, so Orochi would try to know more about her.

Hiro:

In the beginning, they were barely acquaintances. After the whole issue with Sandatsu, they happened to grow closer. Orochi sees Hiro as one of the few friends in Shiketsu who wouldn’t abandon her, to whom she can always talk. She feels a lot “freer” around him since she doesn’t fear him running away or leaving her, revealing her softer insides and doubts to him.

Orochi sees Hiro as a confidant, and more capable than the army of scientists studying her quirk post-awakening, and will be very mean towards said scientists when talking about them to Hiro. She knows they must be more capable than Hiro, but doesn’t accept it. Orochi trusts Hiro above anyone else and will jump into any crazy plan he makes, as she will defend him tooth and nail from anything.

Because of the events of Night of the Reaper, Orochi is way more protective of Hiro than the norm, since he and Rosethorn were indirect causes of her awakening. Orochi is willing to show her animalistic sides, and it can even go out of control if someone “treats Hiro wrong” in her vicinity.

She also is starting to develop feelings for him.

Edie:

Orochi is somehow a friend of Edie in her eyes. Orochi is willing to pull Edie (without the latter’s consent) to a talk or start trauma dumping about the gang, or even talk about gang-life stuff much to Edie’s dismay. Orochi has a high view of Edie, and is curious about how it feels to be in the “danger zone”.

She may get whiplash when seeing/listening to the other’s views on Edie since she is the only one korean Orochi is a friend of.

Sally:

Sally is with Hiro in the “BFF” club of current Orochi. Sally calls? Orochi answers with a fierce passion. In the beginning, they had a rocky start because Sally had a wrong vision of Orochi as a spoiled rich kid who couldn’t tolerate others, but Orochi’s love of arcades and patience towards Sally paid off in the end.

Orochi’s loyalty to Sally is one-sided, mostly. Sally still has a somewhat shaky or neutral view towards Orochi, who sees Sally as a close friend. Orochi even stopped slacking on her english lessons to actually practice to let Sally be more comfortable around her and speak her native language instead of japanese.

Overall, Orochi is very open towards Sally, and has a keen interest in her, making an actual effort to learn about Sally’s culture, American Life, Christianity (Although Orochi won’t ever abandon Shintoism), and how to make Sally feel comfortable around her.

Probably what made Orochi interested and wanting to get closer to Sally was the whole “I’m a gun”, which resonated with Orochi’s “I’m a monster” inner thoughts. Orochi sees herself in Sally and tries her hardest to not let Sally feel what Orochi felt in her childhood, the whole isolation and pain of not having anyone close to her.

Chihiro:

Orochi friendship with Chihiro is kind of shaky, while she wants to be friends with Chihiro, they are fundamentally incompatible as far as hobbies go. Orochi is more technology-inclined and loves arcades, while Chihiro is more traditionalist and distant from technology.

While their hobbies do not match and Orochi has no topic to talk about k with Chihiro, when they are together, she tries to put an effort into learning about Chihiro, and kendo. However, Orochi will gravitate towards Hoge and Sally if they are near.

Orochi has some interest in learning Kendo, even if it is just to see how a sword made out of her scales would work, so she is placing more effort to learn from Chihiro when they are in the dojo.

Inigo:

They were very close at the start of the year, extremely close, even. However, their relationship has been growing distant ever since Orochi was attacked by Feral. It is not that Orochi does not want to be his friend anymore, but Orochi feels like Inigo barely has time for anything.

He is always running errands. Always doing something with everyone. Orochi feels that every time Inigo does something, she is just “another name on the list” nowadays. Shmissesss the times they goofed together after school, or when they played the arcades.

Honestly, this distance in their friendship may hurt worse than Orochi’s worries about Chris. She wants to mend the distance, but she has no means of doing so in her vision. With Orochi’s growing instincts, brutality, and the influence of her hydras, she feels like she is slowly becoming unfit for his friendships, that she is becoming a monster he will need to face.

In Orochi’s eyes, Inigo is a shining star, the ideal example of a hero, but in her current state, his light is blinding her. She feels like she can’t live up to that light, she can’t be his friend anymore due to circumstances beyond her control…

Yui:

If Orochi had a twin sister, in her eyes that twin sister would be Yui. Near Yui, Orochi’s brain probably just turns all restrictions off and goes full-on lizard mode. Arguably Orochi's most trustful state is near Yui. Orochi has no filter near Yui and will act how she truly feels inside, and be as blunt and and straightforward as she can.

Orochi deeply loves Yui and sees Yui as someone close to herself much like Sally. A delinquent girl forced to take a hero course (Orochi to live up to her legacy, and Yui by legal pressure), so Orchi does not feel troubled about her distance as much as others (although she does still feel slightly irked by the lack of contact sometimes).

If Yui asked about the gang, Orochi would spill the beans and say that she is a gang leader. Orochi REALLY trusts Yui blindly and has faith that Yui won’t ever act in a way malicious or harmful towards Orochi, and in truth, Orochi lets herself be free and show her heart to Yui.

They are still good friends, even if a little distant given their current circumstances and duties.

Bobby:

Their friendship is kind of strange. They do have a great synergy in their personality, or at least had one before Orochi’s changes and transformation due to quirk awakening. They have that time of “talking with your fists” and completely understanding each other while they trade blows type of deal.

Orochi considers Bobby a friend, but not one to whom she would openly talk about her life and what troubles her, so Orochi is more reserved and humane around Bobby (currently). If it is hero matters, villains, or anything like that, Orochi may feel inclined to ask Bobby’s help or talk to him, as that helped her before, so it can work again.

If Bobby needs help taking down a villain, Orochi will be down to it.

Kaylee:

Orochi considers Kaylee a rival, and someone she needs to outdone when they are in a contest, although Orochi won’t sweat over it if she loses fair and square in a contest. There was a time in Orochi’s life when she lost the flame to compete with Kaylee and drowned in her depression.

At that time Orochi barely had the energy to be a “rival” to Kaylee, and even after recovering, she still lacked the “will” to be a rival to Kaylee. However, after they worked together to defeat Feral, Orochi’s dying embers may have ignited.

Orochi has no intention of sparking their rivalry now, although if they are placed in a situation where they can have a contest against each other, Orochi will try her best to be better than Kaylee.

Despite their one-sided rivalry, as Kaylee does not think much of Orochi’s side of their “contests”, they are good friends, and they know how to brawl together. They don’t need many words to communicate (although they still can’t understand the other one if they say something too confusing or out there), which makes them a fearsome duo in any brawl.

Hifumi:

In theory, could be good friends, in practice, they hadn’t interacted that much. Orochi respects his dream of being number one, she sees him as a good fella and maybe a leader material, but that is it.

Ian:

Glowy. Probably on the eating list of one of her hydras. Must taste like mushrooms.

Takara:

Orochi is, surprisingly, a good friend to Tame in theory. Tame can withstand Orochi and has no side-effects of being around her.

There weren't many written interactions between them, but I think they can make a good duo. Orochi would treat her like Bobby, someone reliable and that she can trust, but not to the point where she can talk about her life and troubles.

2-E:

Imai:

They are friends, especially because they were in the same internship under her cousin. Orochi trusts Imai a little, at least enough to open up about her demons, but not her past. Imai also is on that the hydras are more than they seem, and are way, way smarter than one would be led to believe.

Orochi is bitter that Imai was transferred to 2-E, as she wanted her internship friend to be with her in 2-D.

Ashleight:

They interacted a bit and that is it, a similar case to the koreans.

Noah:

Orochi may step up and control her worst impulses and traits around Noah. She finds Noah extremely cute, and even before her awakening, she would try her best to protect him, and not let him get too tarnished around her, such as avoiding cursing, crude or obscene talking, and topics around Noah.

The fact he is close to Sally also helps her to get some info on her friend and how to walk around the landmines around Sally. Overall, Orochi is sad that he was transferred 2-E, as she found him and Sally cute, actively engaging in shipping them in class.

Sora:

Orochi cuts the chase short around Sora. Much like Hiro, she is willing to show her softer side, and much like Edie, talk about gang life with him. Sora is in a weird soft spot in Orochi’s circle of friends that he doesn’t even notice. Orochi will try to help Sora the best she can while introducing him to gang life or some aspects of it.

She doesn’t even know what goes around in his head, but she still tries to be a good friend to him, and a leader he can rely upon as Orochi sees Sora as part of her gang, and thus someone she has to protect and lead.

Heroes:

Seiryu:

Orochi deeply loves her cousin, like an older brother. In the past, she would try her best to impress him and get his attention. She went in her internship under him, and if she learned something new it is yet to be seen. They are very close since they were almost raised together, and it leads to some problems as of now.

Orochi right now is very bitter and Mmercurius which can lead to some clashes against Seiryu as she takes in the changes done to her mind and body by her awakening, including her newly developed murderous impulses against some types of villains (Class S villains), and how she is now in the camp of “better to maim them for life or kill them”, which is against the type of hero Seiryu is.

Despite this, Orochi still loves her cousin deeply and would be hurt by fighting him. If possible, she wants to postpone such a thought forever, never wanting to even entertain such an idea.

Akane (Older Sister):

Orochi loves her older sister, even if she was not been a part of her life in the last few years due to her work in Tokyo, but hey! Her sister is back right now. Around Akane, Orochi is very docile and happy-go-lucky, genuinely happy to have her sister around, as she makes Orochi forget her pains and doubts.

Akane is Orochi’s comfort zone, and probably the only person Orochi has fully unconditional faith and love for (besides their own younger sister). Orochi may genuinely forget some of her hero skills and tactical mind around her older sister, unless the situation calls for it, Orochi will act her age and be a dumb teenager around Akane.

Yamamo (Father):

Despite Orochi’s awakening, she still sees her father as an insurmountable mountain she is unable to climb right now. He is a monster in combat and raw physical power, so much so that Orochi doubts the whole “the new generation’s quirks are stronger” just because her father is a monster.

She loves him, but Orochi feels as if she lived in his shadow her whole life. He is not someone she can compare to, she is not half of the hero he was, and she lacks the same drive and strength as him.

She can compare to him when he was slightly older than her, he was riding in a monster truck fighting off villains and going into crazy fights and battles she could only dream of. It was as if he was born in a golden age of heroics, and right now she is chasing after the ashes of that age.

She loves her father, he is a caring and wise old man, and he only wishes she could rise above his legacy once in her life.

Nabiki (Her Mother):

Orochi has a strange relationship with her mother. She controlled Orochi’s whole life since she was seven, and obliterated Orochi’s hopes of having a normal social life and growing up like a normal girl. There was a point in the past they didn’t even talk to each other due to their issues, but after almost dying to Feral, their relationship was mended, somewhat.

Orochi still does not see her mother as a mother, but as a strangled relative she loves but has trouble communicating too. It is ahrd for Orochi to talk to her mother and communicate, even if her mother has nothing but love for her child, misguided as it may be sometimes.

They are trying their best to mend their relationship, even if it is hard sometimes.

Villains:

Karma:

Orochi used to hate Karma’s guts, but that hate was waned. She may attempt to kill Karma if she gets the chance to do so, but if there are bigger fish to fry, or something better to do, Orochi won’t even bother with Karma. However, if she ever discovers Karma is a sibling (even if they are a found family) of Feral, Orochi won’t let Karma slide again and will try her best to end Karma’s life.

Feral:

Arguably, Orochi’s archnemesis and mirror. Feral has been free while Orochi was bound her whole life, Feral is strong as Orochi has been weak or slightly above the average in power, Feral has no doubts, sorrows, or traumas lingering above her head, while Orochi has enough to make a yard out of them. They are mirrors but also direct opposites to each other.

Orochi wants nothing more than to stop Feral once and or all, but she is not willing to kill Feral, as not a small part envies how “easy” Feral had it her whole life, and wants Feral to rot in eternal boredom in a special cell in Tartarus.

They can never be in the same room without a deathmatch, and they won’t ever agree on any topic.

Sandatsu:

He has to die, and that is it.

Her Gang:

Rui:

Orochi’s first real friend. She looks up to Rui as an older sister and second in command. She trusts Rui with her life and is not shy about fighting side to side-with a vigilante. Something to say about her whole gang is that she is way closer to them than she is to her Shiketsu peers, and will show her weak side to them unconditionally.

Rui is the wisdom for Orochi’s antics. She rules Orochi and keeps her from doing something dumb or unwarranted. She is smarter and wiser than Orochi, so her advice and words have weight. Rui has been dealing with Orochi for years, so she knows how her mind works and how the hydras spin in Orochi’s brain, so even awakening doesn’t hurt their relationship that much.

Rui administrates the gang, and acts as the figurehead in place of Orochi, as she cannot be in the gang due to her student status.

Reika:

Another childhood friend of Orochi. Reika comes from a rich family, which has businesses as suppliers to artificers and support heroes everywhere, and sometimes they work on technology, as well as villains that sell weapons to other countries and domestic terrorism inside of Japan.

They have deep ties with the Atsushi and the government, so they never get caught or detected, exploiting their connections to get away from their evil doings.

Because of her upbringing, Reika has a skewed sense of morality and values strength and bonds over anything else. She thinks only herself and the gang are true friends to Orochi, and that her friends at Shiketsu only weigh her down.

Reika is extremely passionate about everything she does and is a perfectionist. She hates sloppy performances and hates leaving sloppy work behind. She helped Orochi pick herself up after Feral first attacked her.

Reika is a reliable, even if unhinged, friend, and someone Orochi can fight with without trading a single word, as they fought many gangs and brawls together in the past.

Sasha:

Reika’s bodyguard is a good four to five years older than both Reika and Orochi. Sasha was brought as a little child by Reika’s family to grow up alongside their only daughter and be her designed Bodyguard for life, and so she did.

Sasha is an alcoholic and junkie and keeps a happy-go-lucky carefree persona. While she is indeed happy-go-luck, she turns to alcohol and blunts to keep her anxiety and intrusive thoughts out, as her whole life has been a stressful mess, raised to be a bodyguard, and forced to train to fulfill that role, besides all the stress Reika and their daily lives inflict on Sasha.

Sasha finds that being happy and drunk is better than being stressed and sober, and if forced to be sober for once, she is a terror to behold. She has an unordinary wise and tactical mind, knowing when it is time for interference and when it is time to run away and not even fight.

This makes her conflict with her friends and other gang members, as they are more on the hot-blooded and impulsive side of the spectrum, while, despite her persona, she is methodical.

KaKa:

KaKa is the member Orochi knows the least about and has the least amount of friendship with. She was recruited by Rui in the years that Orochi was away from the gang. Orochi feels like KaKa is reliable enough, although she also is addicted to substances (smoking).

They have an awkward time together because of their lack of history, and because KaKa is used to Rui being the boss, not Orochi.
